We absolutely love Aubrey’s, they have a separate gluten-free menu, but if you’re traveling with anyone that’s in a wheelchair or handicapped in anyway you might as well order takeout because they have no accommodation parking and they only have two spaces and they’re always either occupied by employee cars or by cars that don’t have a tag and when you go in to ask them if the person could move their car because they do not have a handicap sticker, they say it’s not their policy.
Server was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Answered all my questions. Food was very good. Got one of the burgers with a gluten free bun, smashed new potatoes, and steamed broccoli. The broccoli still had crunch but wasn’t crispy, very good. Server kept checking on the entire table. I was impressed with the size of the gluten free menu. Overall happy with the experience.
Aubreys did a great job with insuring that our gluten free items were in a separate bag from our non gluten free items. We had 2 people with celiac in our group and 3 without celiac. We did not get glutened which is good. The quality of the food however wasn't that great. I had a gf chicken salad sandwich, no bacon with coleslaw. The chicken salad was very bland. The other celiac in the group had a gf burger and it was dry. They didn't eat much of it. My son had Mac and Cheese and it was just okay....as was the salmon over rice. We internet ordered for pick up since we were arriving in Knoxville for the night after many hours of driving. There seemed to be some confusion when we arrived because we were told the order wasn't ready.. even though we had ordered way ahead for a 7pm pickup. We likely wouldn't order from here again due to the disappointing quality of the food
Great separate GF menu and our food was really good. We would definitely go back when in the Knoxville area.
Just left this restaurant quite disappointed. We chose to dine there based on the great reviews I found on this app. Just because they offer a gluten-free menu doesn't mean you have to settle for a very unpleasant dining experience. First of all, we were seated at the booth that had an entire bench smeared with some kinda grease. I asked for an extra napkin to clean it, instead, someone came and smeared the grease even more with the dirty wet cloth. My husband and I ended up sitting on the same side of the table. The food arrived on the plates with grease smudges all over them. They literally look unwashed. Even the check came dirty and we had to clean the credit card after it was returned to us after payment. Needless to say, I would never recommend to anyone to go there.
I appreciate having choices close to me. I went on Mother’s Day. I ordered the grilled chicken fingers, broccoli and fruit, and strawberry Salad! Oh yeah, even splurged on the gluten free brownie and I’ve cream! So far so good! I’ll keep u posted! The food tasted amazing!
3 out of the 4 diners in our group are Celiacs. The gluten free food was brought out separately than gluten filled meal. None in our group needed up sick and the food was great! Kids has the grilled tenders, mashed potatoes and the other had a baked potato. I had the chicken salad sandwich with baked apples.
Hickory chicken was good the ribs were even better! Be careful ordering the spinach since there's steamed spinach on the gluten free menu and parmesan spinach on the regular menu. I got the wrong one but I think it was my error in ordering! Didn't eat the spinach and had no issue.
Food was great. I felt safe ordering and eating gluten free. No complaints with the food. We didn't care for out server. I don't know if the gluten free request and emphasis on it being an allergy turned him sour or what, but he seemed friendly to other guests and wasn't so with us. Server aside, the place was great.
I would love to give this restaurant 5 stars and as far as food ratings go, it was wonderful (hickory chicken, cheddar burger, Cajun chicken sandwich)! Our service was not wonderful. From the minute I told the waiter my boyfriend and I were gf and that my boyfriend is actually celiac I felt like he was irritated. He almost rolled his eyes in annoyance. He was never kind after that. He barely made eye contact when coming to our table, did not bring out our food and then asked how the food was before my boyfriend had even taken a bite and got huffy and asked again as if we were ignoring him when we couldn’t give an answer-we hadn’t eaten anything yet, never offered refills, tried to take my plate before I had even touched part of it, and then refused to pick up our plates from in front of us when they were empty, instead standing there like he had T-Rex arms waiting for us to hand him all the dishes. I had even put my plate at the end of the table so he could reach it. We were so frustrated and could not understand his rude behavior. Even his thank you when he took our money was said after he was walking away without even turning his head to look at us. So, food was 5 stars but service...yikes :-(
I’m a celiac and have eaten here a number of times. They are extremely careful and I believe no breading ever touches the grill, so grilled options are safest.
Best Gluten Free Bun/Burger I've ever had! Usually I have a burger without a bun. :-( and that's what most restaurants call 'Gluten Free'. NOT at Aubrey's :-) ate a burger like a regular person! Thanks Aubrey's! I was too full for dessert.
Very knowledgeable staff! My food was delicious.
***Update***
I had lunch here and ordered the same salmon b.l.t but ended up having a reaction. I was concerned this would happen because the server we had didn’t seem to know the safety protocols. I haven’t been back since.
I eat GF at Aubreys on a regular basis and have never had an issue. They have a GF menu. I always order grilled chicken tenders (with honey mustard sauce for dipping) and a loaded baked potato from the Kids section of the GF menu. Very good and filling. Be sure to tell your server that you are GF and ask them to write it on your ticket.
We ere seated and given a gluten free menu, I explained that I also had a dairy allergy. Our waiter was in training, his lead was fantastic at helping him to understand the importance of the allergies. They even held off on bringing out my salad dressing to confirm ingredients for me. The gf buns were delicious and they allowed me to purchase a handful of frozen buns to bring home.
