same for both locations. staff is not friendly and doesnt respond or answer well.. they prepare food out of sight, so idk.. but I haven't gotten sick. good food.. good bread.. sandwich and sub.. but it doesn't cover the entire sandwich. i like the food but I'd pick somewhere else if there were more options
Staff was not friendly about the gluten free option, or very knowledgeable. Nothing on the menu board suggested GF was an option, it was majorly secretive, and when I asked the gal seemed annoyed I wanted to see the menu. Would be nive to have safe side options to accompany a meal.
Augustino's carries Udi's for sandwiches, hot dog buns, hamburger buns and even pizza crusts! They also have sub sandwich rolls. They do not have a dedicated fryer for french fries. They are knowledgable enough to give you condiment packets rather than cross contaminating jars of condiments.
They have 4 different kids of gluten free bread AND a dedicated gluten free toaster. They also have bagged certified GF potato chips. The food was delicious and highly recommend. The owners daughter has a severe wheat allergy so they understand!
They take GF seriously so I would feel safe if I was very sensitive. This was an every Saturday place years ago and I enjoyed their beef, sausage, grinders, and turkey burgers in those pre-GF days. GF bread is very good but the up charge makes value proposition tougher. Suddenly a grinder can become a $10 sandwich. This bread up charge is not unique to Augies but seems like a bigger deal when you add the GF charge to a relatively cheap meal. No separate frier so now French fries. Did not try the GF pizza. Same great sandwich toppings I enjoyed in my pre-GF days. If you have a taste for an outstanding sub, this is the place.
