Great experience! We came here on our first night, they explained they see people with Celiac disease all the time. The menu was not labeled with what was gluten free, but the waiter told me that I should tell him what I want and they will make it gluten free! My family (not gluten free) ordered the bread and it came with a tomato dip. The dip was gluten free and amazing, but I forgot my own bread/crackers for the dip at home. Great lamb entree too! I also went back for takeout food a second night. Overall, felt very safe and didn’t get sick.
— No gluten-free information on the menu
My waiter was extremely accommodating and helpful. Probably the most helpful waiter I’ve ever encountered! Took my all of my allergies very seriously, communicated with the chef, and made sure I was happy with my options. I felt very safe in my order here (though I am not celiac, and can’t comment on that level), and it was delicious!!
BOOK AHEAD! Santorini is a small island, with a locally run vibe. You’re gonna be a bit stretched for options if you’re a coeliac. But at this particular venue, as of Sep 2019, there is one particular waiter who is very knowledgeable and very careful, but I think we only had him as our server because we booked ahead and told the, we had a coeliac dining, over the phone beforehand. The other waiters, as soon as we mentioned GF, just grabbed the ‘GF guy’ let’s call him, and he dealt with our concerns, with utmost professionalism. For instance, he even asked our gluten diner just how sensitive she is because he knows the local milk producers sometimes use vats that have been contaminated with gluten, so he could modify his recommendations to exclude local Greek milk products accordingly. The food itself is completely stunning, we had the crab salad, the mussels, the octopus, and the salmon fillet, it was super yum and very well presented. I really can’t recommend this more if you’re a coeliac on Santorini, but please, make sure you get a booking beforehand and tell them you’re a coeliac. Full marks.
Book ahead and tell them you have GF concerns, there’s a particular waiter who is super helpful.
My daughter has celiac. She was craving for pasta, last 4 days. Found avocado restaurant on the GF app. Food was delicious and my daughter was very happy. Very professional.
It has a menu showing what items are gluten free. It also have gluten free pasta for their pasta meals. Also, they use a separate fryer so you can get French fries. The fries were delicious. Overall, we all enjoyed our meals. I did not have a reaction from my meal. The waiter was friendly and accommodating.
It was great to see they had plenty of gluten free options and even went over "potential gluten free options."
This place did not pop up on the app, but it has a GF legend on the menu and the chef came out to go over the gluten free options with us after we informed the waiter that my wife has Celiac disease. They were extremely understanding and made us feel safe about our options! My wife had the pork chop and it was amazing.
