This place was beyond amazing! I called ahead and spoke with the kitchen and over 80% of the menu was either inherently GF or could be easily made so. Our server was highly knowledgeable and effortlessly welcoming. She quietly ensured everything was safe for me, with discretion and ease. With a celiac chef and celiac server, they have ensured every staff member is very carefully trained. I had the West End mocktail, Milk and Honey starter, Field Greens salad, and Lamb Tenderloin dinner. Everything was exceptionally delicious! Husband got the duck and invited me to try it. Our server quietly said “while your meal is naturally GF, we didn’t prepare it with the careful precautions as your wife’s meal, so it would be safer not to share.” In that moment, I knew I was truly safe dining here, and that Avvino’s was my new favorite restaurant! And believe it or not, our experience got even better after that! I ordered the flourless chocolate cookies for dessert, and with the first bite, I was transformed! They weren’t just the most delicious treat I’ve had since my celiac diagnosis, they were the most delicious treat I’ve had, period. That cookie melted on my tongue, and it was like all the deprivation, loss, and sadness I’ve felt since diagnosis melted away in rich, buttery, chocolaty bliss. I can’t wait to go back! (And yes, I’ll order the duck. And more of those cookies!)
Gluten free items are not marked as such but I’ve never had a problem asking when ordering to ensure something is gluten free. They also are knowledgeable on adjusting menu items to make them gluten free. Their food is amazing.

My birthday dinner was wonderful. They do not have a GF Menu but the waitress went over every meal on the menu and knew if it was GF or could be made GF. Very knowledgeable. My body told me there was no cross contamination as I always experience symptoms. I will be back. Highly recommend for my GF kindred spirits.
I have been to Avvino twice now and have been blown away by the service. One of the sous chefs is gluten free so the menu is designed to be very flexible and the kitchen is knowledgeable about cross contamination. They don't have a GF menu, but the owner and server both reviewed several menu options that can be prepared GF. Highly recommend the charred octopus!!
