This place was so awesome. They only use rice flower for their breading so everything fried is naturally gluten free. I had the Parmesan garlic wings and truffle oil French fries and they were amazing. The kids menu was great because it already had marked gluten free items - so rare. My daughter had the gluten free fish sticks and tater tots and loved it! Two thumbs up from the whole family (even the not gluten free ones)! Highly recommend!

Best restaurant I've ever been to for a celiac . Manager greets you and assures you they have you covered . Servers are very knowledgeable about feed sensitivities. And best part is gluten free beer ! This mom is in heaven right now :)

Always very good. They know what they are doing and are very careful if you have celiac disease. The manager always comes and talks to you before ordering if you have celiac disease. I am very comfortable eating here

I wish I could give zero stars. I got violently sick because my gf burger was served with regular mac and cheese- it didn't look right and one bite told me the mac was too good to be GF. I told my waitress and was assured, and a few hours later enjoyed a hospital visit.

I am confused by all the negative reviews, I have been here many times and when you say you have an allergy the manager personally ensures your food is safe. The food is great and they have many options. While all the fried foods are cross contaminated, they clearly communicate this in person and label it on the menu.

  • User profile picture thumbnail

The menu states gf, but reality is that there is a lot of cross contamination. The staff is rude when you ask for gf. How do you have the right to ask of It's an allergy or preference. Just make it and keep it gf. On top of that make sure you don't contaminate. horrible. Avoid at all cost.

this place makes a good effort to cater to allergies. the manager came to our table and let me know that things are fried all together. however, I didn't think that meant things on the gluten free menu. it's billed as celiac friendly and their chicken tenders, which are on the gluten free menu, are not 100% gluten free. this is not celiac friendly.

The menu is creative but there isn't many options for GF sides. Not to mention I was pretty hesitant to eat here after the hostess gave me the GF menu and instantly started talking about cross contamination. I decided to order simple and did end up getting contaminated.

This place had great customer service. Manager came over right away once he saw i had a gluten free menu. before my waiter even got to the table, he was informed that i was need my food prepared separately. Big gluten free menu, but fried items are currently fried in a shared fryer. Gluten free beer and dessert too, as well as buns for the burgers.

Worth the wait! Everyday there was a long wait to get in here. We went at an off time when the wait was shorter and figured out why everyone was waiting around to eat there. My son and I agreed best blue cheese burger ever combo of Bourbon BBQ sauce, caramelized onions and blue cheese was so good ! My daughter who has celiac enjoyed real chicken tenders fries not grilled and delicious French fries. My husband has the dish and chips which was outstanding also GF. They don’t have any wheat flour in the back so no worries about Cross-contamination except for the hamburger buns. They seem to have a pretty good protocol for that and the gluten-free bun was delicious on my burger. No one got sick a real treat for gluten free folks.

Took my 6 year old celiac daughter today. Food was excellent. I don't have to eat GF but wanted to give her the option of trying the burger so got my burger on a GF bun, it was very good. Probably the best bun I've had since she was diagnosed 18 months ago. Mashed potatoes were excellent, fries good, and I loved the onion rings. They were a bit too spicy for the 6 year old. Almost all of the sides were GF and there were multiple entrees that were GF and some non lettuce based salads too. We will definitely be back.

All their fried foods are GF by default. Their main fryer is dedicated GF. They have a side fryer that is for gluten-containing items. I had onion rings -- they were thick, heavy-battered, and delicious. It was a wonderful treat after going without for so long. I also had the fried chicken salad -- because hey, fried chicken, finally! -- which was good, but next time I would request the dressing on the side (personal preference). Best of all, I had no digestive issues. So many things on the menu I want to try -- can't wait to go back.

The last time I ate here, when I told the server I had celiac, he said "welcome to heaven!" And, he was totally right. This is my very favorite place to eat out in DC, and I just wish they had more locations! So, so many options for GF eaters, and very celiac friendly. The West Coast burger (fried egg, avocado, kalamata mayo) in the grass (on lettuce) is my go-to, and I really love that, among their many GF sides, they have tater tots!

Staff seemed to be knowledgeable but the waiter we had was a bit indignant when drinks came out wrong and kept telling me that I was wrong. When you have a food allergy and attention to detail seems to miss the mark it makes you eat with less confidence and therefore not enjoy the meal. We did not get sick but ate with hesitation.

Many items are clearly marked GF and items such as select burgers can be ordered GF if the bun is substituted for a GF bun. I ordered a salad with crispy chicken tenders and a side of onion rings. What a treat!!! Both were delicious and I had no issues following our meal. I highly recommend this place if you are Celiac. The restaurant staff were very knowledgeable.
