I love this place! We got a delicious cheesecake here for a birthday and they also have amazing cookies. Only thing is the hours are inconsistent, so when I came by the other day for breakfast it was closed and we had to search for somewhere else that was safe for me to eat

Definitely gluten free…. Extremely dry cake not going to come back. Decent compared to other bakeries in Vancouver

Very cute place, excellent service. You should forget what a croissant is or what a cinnamon bun is supposed to be like because you are not going to get the traditionally made pastries. The croissant is not made with flaky puff pastry and the cinnamon bun is far from Cinnabon. However, they are satisfying and gluten free and taste good. I have ordered my birthday cake so I will test that tomorrow! Edit : the cake was a huge disappointment, unfortunately. I contacted the bakery in advance for a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and I got a brown cake with white frosting that tasted nothing adn was way too expensive for the quality. It ended in the compost.

Really not great products here. I have tried many times as they are the closest to where I live and wish I could support them but much prefer virtue natural bakery in kits or lemonade and epicurean if I’m willing to drive further. Heavy dough, tastes like all rice flour, very sugary. Reminds me of what gluten free stuff used to taste like 10 years ago before people used more varied flours etc. No need to eat gluten free that doesn’t taste good these days we’re pretty lucky with choices now.

Over the years this bakery has declined. I find their baked treats grainy compared to Lemonade and Epicurian products. Their rub balls are good but that is it. I have asked people to stop shopping for me at this store after being a customer since the 2 sisters opened it decades ago.

Went there today and they had relatively few offerings and what they did have was remarkably overpriced. $5 for a regular sized cookie and $5 for a piece of dry lemon loaf. Apparently the "panne rizo" name and location has been sold to a new owner so the offerings and quality will and has changed. Hard to suggest this to people when there are so many other gf bakeries in Vancouver to suggest people go to.
This looks like the restaurant front will now just be coffee and bakery goods with the branding change. Is a gf space which is nice but Id almost not want to eat vs paying for not great foods.

A good variety of savoury and sweet baked items, along with sandwiches and panini.

I wasn't super enticed by many of the baked goods they offered, but the chicken pesto panini I had was really good. Would go back again just for the panini :)

It was just ok. The server was nice. What we had was good. As far as I know it is dedicated gluten free which makes me feel really safe and that is worth a lot! I am an anaphylactic to wheat celiac.

I've tried this place a few times but I don't like their products. A bit too dry for my taste.

Not the best option if you also need dairy free. I was hoping to get a sandwich but they all were pre-made with cheese (I’m also dairy free). I asked if they could make me one without dairy and they said they would just take the cheese off the pre-made ones. I got a carrot muffin and sausage in a bun because those were the dairy free options.

I had the breakfast wrap, my partner had a blueberry muffin (straight out of the oven) and we also purchased a number of the boxed items that were available (biscotti, shortbread, cookies).
Everything was fantastic. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good coffee too.

Deliscious 100% GF! Dairy free and vegan options available too! The chicken pesto panini was seriously so good! Vegan pumpkin cookies … YUM! They’re more the texture of a smooth muffin top, but so good! Chicken pot pie was good, crust was a bit bland and not my favourite seasonings inside, but it was still good. I still ate the whole thing! And it’s a good size. My kids loved all their food and treats. Amazing customer service!

I felt gluten sick after eating here. I had the lemon blueberry muffin and a turkey panini.

This has GF foods alright but it is so so so bad, like way below par to a normal GF bakery... I don’t understand how they can be this bad. When they joke “my kids can make better food” they meant it about this place. No joke. I am baffled at how they are still in business for so long. I really wanted to like this place. But it’s so bad! It is not worth it. Find another gf bakery.

Picked up a breakfast wrap today. Eggs, cheese, mushrooms and spinach with a crepe as the wrap. Pre-made in case and reheated. It was filling and nice enough, but could really have used some hot sauce or more salt. Really appreciate this place for being open daily and having some quick meal options like mac n cheese and breakfast wraps. The baking selection is pretty uninspired and tired though.

This bakery needs to close - it is way past its prime and is still rice based. The food is expensive and it is gritty compared to the other excellent gf bakeries in Vancouver and surrounding cities. They lost their chef and key baker and quality has suffered. Their products do not have a good shelf life either.
Yes
Gluten free, but there are better bakeries in Vancouver

Very celiac friendly however it is disgusting

We stopped here after a tour of nearby UBC. We ate a late brunch of spinach and goat cheese quiche, vegan samosas and lemon loaf. The quiche in particular was outstanding. There are a ton of lunch options - including panini, pizza and mac n cheese. In addition to some lovely fresh pastries, including eclairs, tiramisu and layer cake, they have a huge range of packaged cookies. You can also find some grocery staples like cereal and flour for sale as well. Friendly, knowledgeable staff.
Yes
Turkey cranberry panini was delicious, chocolate brownie with macadamia nuts. Gf facility. Packaged products for take home. Great lunch spot. Thanks

Good variety of baked goods, all of which are individually wrapped or boxed to keep them safe! A bit pricey, but definitely safe (list ingredients, don't use oats/risky ingredients).
Yes
Sausage roll and carrot cake were very good. My gluten-eating hubby liked the gf chicken pot pie, but it had too much Rosemary for me and wasn't heated all the way through.

Dedicated gluten free Cafe with a few vegan options as well. Staff were able to modify items to suit other allergies as well. Food was good and service was excellent.

Eh...nothing special. Good wasn't great.
For the last 14 years, Panne Rizo Bakery & Café has specialized in home-style gluten-free baking. Some of their top selling products—all of which are made using free-range eggs, non-hydrogenated oils and are free of preservatives—include maple pumpkin muffins, coconut cherry dream bars, and blueberry lemon poppy seed muffins.
Safe for Celiac, willing but unable to accomodate other allergies in some cases. Not the best or worst tasting gluten free food.

I got a day old vegan chia brea loaf for half price!
Yes
Overpriced, most things lacking flavour and pretty much everything they make crumbles apart easily. Have tried this place many times over the years but it never gets better. Packaged foods are better than this place.
Yes
Pizza suffered a bit from reheating and the cheese was a little too processed and sweet for my taste (just barely but still more than this sharp cheddar and mozz fan likes). Everything is GF. A few cookies are lighter than I like (lots of starches probably) but good flavors and other items look fine. The chocolate utopia with a hint of rum was good.
Yes
Breakfast Crepe with eggs and bacon was very good. A friend had the Turkey Crepe which was excellent. They have breads and muffins as well as pizzas and soups for lunch. And they make countless kinds of cookies, for which they're well known. A dedicated GF facility.

love the gluten free bakery - it's always a treat to stop by to enjoy their nice hot soup, breads, baked products!!
one of the original gf bakeries in Vancouver. focuses on original baked products.
