Knowing that most of the noodle dishes are made with rice noodles, I called to ask if they could make the pad Thai gluten-free. I was assured yes. Apparently the vegetables and the noodles were the only thing gluten-free in the dish. I'm assuming the soy or whatever sauce they used was not safe for someone with a severe allergy such a myself. When will restaurants be required to be knowledgeable to prevent patrons from ending up hospitalized? It's completely unacceptable.
No
WONDERFUL hidden gem in Brunswick Maine, located in Fort Andross. Although there isn't a totally separate GF menu, absolutely everything is made to order, and the staff will tell the owner Pon (who I've known since I was a kid) that it needs to be gluten free, and he will make it as such. Certain items such as fried spring rolls, and their large flat noodles have wheat in the original product, and they will tell you that. Some GREAT items that they make GF for me are Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, a Cashew Dish, Hot and Sour Soup, Spicy coconut soup... The list goes on and on. They have a great wheat free soy sauce, peanut sauce, sweet and sour sauce. I really can't rave enough about this place. Wish more people knew about it.
