I was staying downtown and I ran across this place. The owner came out to our table to chat with us after we talked to the server about GF options. He told me that he could make many things on the menu GF. I had the chicken fingers-something that I have not had since I went GF. The meal was amazing. He told me that they make their own bread in house and I should come back for breakfast. Who could resist? I went back a couple days later and had avocado toast. It was some of the best food that I have had! They will even sell you a loaf of their bread. I bought 2! Very good food and very nice owners! Server was super knowledgeable!
Two gluten-free desserts and a lot of options for sandwiches that can be gluten-free! Delicious orange poppyseed cake!
This place was great! Originally ordered mushroom and beet toast on GF bread but staff asked if it would be a problem since the GF bread is sliced in the same slicer as regular bread. Ended up getting this in a bowl instead of on toast. Felt good about knowledge with cross contamination and there are still good options for GF people. Food is delicious too!
Nice little cafe spot. Breakfast sandwich is good huge bread slices. Orange slice cake is rich, maybe too much zest.
Banksia is one of my favorite lunch spots downtown! The staff has always been extremely attentive to my gluten & dairy allergies and asks with the kitchen and makes additional notes on my order every time. The gluten free bread for the sandwiches is thick and fluffy, and they have gluten free pastries! (None are dairy-free so I haven't tried them myself, but the flourless spiced orange cake always catches my eye in the window).
