EXCELLENT! Hands down the place to try. You will leave here heart happy. Our waiter Wes treated us like family. Service was fast and fantastic. We had pancakes, chicken strips (to die for), masked potato’s, Brussels sprouts and cornbread. Couldn’t pick my fav because everything was delicious! You have to try this place, for the first time I felt normal eating at a place that was knowledgeable and farm fresh ingredients. Being a former small business owner I always like to support local businesses! Too bad we don’t have one of these in Texas:(.
Loved the atmosphere and friendly staff. My husband has a gluten allergy and was able to enjoy fried food again!! The batter at Bantam and Biddy is gluten free... so amazing! The food was delicious and fresh... we are from out of town, but will definitely be back!
Absolutely fantastic food. I come here almost every time I visit Atlanta! Celiac safe fried chicken can be hard to find but one meal here makes up for it. The cornbread was so good I took a bite and worried it was regular so I waited to double check with the waiter. Turns out they only have GF cornbread so nothing to worry about. My boyfriend has serious nut allergies and they were very careful with his allergies too!
When I crave fried okra, this is where I go. In fact I’ve been guilty of pigging out on an all fried menu - chicken, the okra, green tomatoes. Even though that wasn’t the most healthy choice, that meal was maybe the first time in three years I’d been able to find reliably GF fried vittles. On a later visit for a quick breakfast, I went healthy with GF granola and fresh berries over Greek yogurt and a fresh squeezed apple, carrot, and ginger juice. The berries were remarkably plump and juicy, and the yogurt was as creamy as a pudding. It’s served with a small cup of honey. I used only a quick drizzle to sweeten the yogurt. As tasty as that was, the flavors of the juice were very well balanced and calmed my angry tummy. I think it was called an Apple Zinger. At $6 the juice was not cheap, but it’s healing quality was worth every penny. Their menu can satisfy both indulgent and healthy cravings. I really do love this little cafe.
They cannot do GF waffles, but I had GF fried chicken and pancakes! Yum!!! Although the service was absolutely awful and we had to wait forever and never even got a single refill. Pic added. Also saw GF lemon cake and red velvet cheesecake clearly labeled in the bakery display case.
Visited the Chattanooga location. Two Celiacs in family felt very safe. Fried/battered foods are safe. Batter made in part with tapioca flour. We were told that 80% of the menu is GF and they are marked on the regular menu. Person I talked to when I called ahead was knowledgeable and friendly. Server seemed knowledgeable too. One Celiac had Fried Chicken Tenders and the other a Big Greek Salad with roast chicken. Cornbread and all but a few sides are GF. Great experience!
Fresh, fried chicken that is SO DELICIOUS!!! GF corn bread, fried okra and beets with goat cheese. I believe they had GF alcoholic drinks too. I love that they give you unlimited hot coffee! My boyfriend has celiac and didn't get sick :)
Excellent experience! the restaurant is casual and the food is comfort. Gluten free options clearly marked on the menu. I had the chicken stew, gluten free 1/2 rotisserie chicken, grits, butternut squash, and the jalapeño cornbread. the lemonade is the best I have had at a restaurant
SO good!! All of their fried chicken is gluten free. All dishes come with GF Jalepeno cornbread. I ordered chicken tenders, fresh cut French fries and sautéed spinach and garlic. It was the most quality GF meal I've ever had. They batter their chicken in rice flour and eggs. Very thick and crispy fried chicken. I paid about $14 for my meal, I got 5 HUGE tenders and two sides and bread. I took half of it home it was so filling. So worth it! It will definitely be my go-to southern comfort restauarant.
We are traveling in Atlanta, and we're so happy to find a safe place to take our son with celiac. Other places have gluten free items, but put that disclaimer at the bottom that they can't guarantee safety for celiac patients. I felt relieved to see they take their gluten free menu so seriously at Bantu and Biddy. And the food was outstanding!
Thank goodness for Sean Doty! All of his restaurants go above and beyond to give the gluten free community options for dining out without fear of getting sick. We frequent Yeah! Burger and Bantam & Biddy all the time. His chicken fingers here are awesome and delicious on a salad too! My mom is highly gluten sensitive and has never had a reaction at any of his restaurants.
Very happy to have found a place where I can have fried chicken or anything fried really and not have to worry about cross contamination since everything fried is gluten free. Impressed and when I am in Atlanta, I will definitely eat here again! Thanks for making this Celiac's life a little easier! :)
Excellent GF menu. I had rotisserie chicken, duck fat fries and fresh fruit. Meal came with a GF cornbread muffin. Everything was great and I didn't have a gluten response. My dad, who doesn't have gluten issues had the gluten free chicken tenders and said they were great.
