I came here once or twice a few years ago and did not get sick. I went back this month for business lunch and had good experience - server answered questions then checked with the kitchen to verify. I got a salad with chicken and it was great. Did not get sick.

Bar Verde is the somewhat upscale Italian restaurant/bar/cafe on the top floor of the Nordstrom department store in the pretty Westfield Century City Mall. It has a nice big outdoor patio. Gluten Free options clearly marked on menu with a dagger/obelisk symbol (†). Gluten Free pasta available. I had gluten free flatbread, and was assured by waiter who spoke to kitchen about preparing "celiac safe". Delicious. I'll add pics of the menu and my flatbread. Pretty nice place to have a glass of white wine and some nice food between shopping or before a movie, or even for a relaxed date. Will make this a regular stop.

Waitress was very friendly and checked everything with the kitchen. I only ordered an appetizer (bureaus and tomatoes, no croutons. It was delicious) because we just stopped for a snack, but they can make pasta GF in separate water they said, and flatbread on cauliflower crust. Waitress let me know flatbread would be in same oven, but in its own pan. Shared fryer unfortunately. They have items marked GF on menu but only the ones that need substitutions to be made that way (pasta, flatbread) and a lot more items in the menu are already GF
