Always a hit with our family that has several food allergies. All wait staff is very knowledgeable about allergies and customizes each menu on what you can/cannot have. They do have a dedicated GF fryer but occasionally it has been "closed" to drain the oil because of CC. Overall great variety of choices with the tapas and large plates.
No dedicated menu but the servers ask if anyone has any allergies before they even take your drink orders. Waiter individually will customize your menu and let you know what dishes you can’t have and what to avoid if you don’t prefer shared fryers etc.
Lots of great tapas options, main plate options, two gluten free dessert options, and drinks were great as well. Highly recommend if you don’t mind spending $100+
The server usually X’s out the items I can’t have which is nice. I will say on two separate occasions they told me to not get anything fried in the gluten free fryer because someone accidentally used it for a non-gluten free items. Maybe that was just bad luck but now I always ask them to make sure just in case.
Great service and delicious food. A large portion of the Tapas are gluten free or are dips that can come with veggies instead of bread. No charcuterie or cheese is safe because that section of the kitchen is full of bread crumbs. The menu changes every few days, so our waiter took a copy into the kitchen to check what was safe today. I especially recommend the Chicken Thigh and the Pulpo Gallegos.
Wow. WOW! Fabulous food and a cool vibe. Much of the menu is GF and 2 fantastic GF desserts(Flan and Choc Cake). The menu is not labeled but they mark it up for you. Dedicated GF fryer! Really a great place for us. The inside is hopping and can be loud… they do have outdoor seating if you want a quieter meal. So good!
Has dinner there last weekend! I have been to several Barcelona locations across the US. They were excellent per usual. Marked a menu for me, server was very knowledgeable and marked all my items with allergy. They have a separate fryer. Did not great sick and our food was fantastic as always!
This is a Tapas restaurant and they were so very aware of making sure my food was was GF. They change their menu and occasionally. When they found out I had celiac’s they took my menu and crossed out what I couldn’t have. That made me so confident that what I was ordering was GF. Food was amazing, staff was great. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Overall a fairly safe place to eat. It is really hectic in there and you need to stay attentive though. Waiter marked up the menu - some things are never safe, some can be sautéed instead (cooked separate is how I understood it), and some are always safe.
The main issue is that the waiter doesn’t bring the food, the food runners do. They usually don’t say anything - drop plates and run / no time for question or confirmation (if you do catch them, often they don’t know anyway).
I decided to have faith. Luckily when one dish was brought over incorrectly, seconds before eating it the waiter caught it and stopped me. I thanked him, he took the wrong dish (kale salad w a gluten topper), and the small plate I had with several things on it since it was now cross contaminated.
I am overall not sure if I got anything contaminated, I didn’t feel bad but also wasn’t perfect - though overall felt ok about the experience.
My suggestion for the restaurant is to:
1. Have food runners clearly denote when something is made safe for allergies or celiac, or require servers/mgrs to bring specialty food instead of it’s not possible.
2. Don’t mark up the menu every time by hand. Just make a celiac version once and post it and educate the staff.
3. When somebody does screw up, don’t charge the customer for it. In fact the small plate had half of the other dishes on it - it all went in the trash after and only the kale salad was remade.
All in all room for improvement but the server did their best under the restaurants policies!
The vibe is cool. The drinks are great. The food tastes pretty good. However, from a gluten perspective, this place is not safe. The menus are not marked and they scratch items you can have.
I’ve been here a few times and have gotten sick each time. My wife likes it so I was willing to go back.
They serve a lot of their food on wooden plates which aren’t safe for gluten because it gets absorbed into the wood. I’m surprised the safety ratings by others is so high.
