This review is for the Plainview location!! I just realized I clicked on the wrong location. But… Wow! Just wow! Went here after a few years and what an amazing change!! The space looks beautiful and so many new delicious options!! Bagels, hot pretzels, and warm challah from the oven in addition to meals and delicious treats!
I've tried this bakery a few times, different items (cupcakes, cookies, vanilla loaf) and every time I've been sick the following day. I don't know if it's a substitution ingredient they use to make these bakery items on a larger scale for more people or what, because I've baked gluten free items before and never had a problem with proper portions of gums, etc, but something they're doing doesn't agree with me. I also think they're a bit overpriced for what they offer given the quality. The cookies we got were nicely wrapped but all the ones on the bottom were wet from some kind of condensate and the icing had melted off (it was a 65 degree day so I couldn't even blame the weather).
Love that this place exists. It's the only 100% GF option in the area. But the food is disappointing. The items I got here were super dense and tough. It was difficult to even bite through the edges of the apple turnover and crust of the pizza. The flavors were ok but texture was way off. Maybe the softer items like cupcakes are better?
I always appreciate a completely gluten free establishment, however the food here is very mediocre and if you are ordering a sandwich it will take about 30 minutes for your food to come out which is insane. Their breads all have an odd taste and texture to them. I'm totally willing to pay more for food, safe, gluten free food, however the prices here are outrageous considering how subpar the food is in quality and size.
The service/food is hit or miss and most times it’s a miss - I’m not sure if she’s the manager but the woman who seems to be in charge is simply rude. My husband loves their donuts (but we have received a few stale ones that needed to be returned) & once we got a delicious cake but then the next few were dry & tasteless. The majority of the items are just ok. I’ll get a baguette loaf if I’m in a bind but otherwise .. ehh. The bread has a weird taste. Pricey as well. It’s a dedicated gf facility.
Welp, zero stars here we go!
This goes to the manager at the bare naked bakery in Bellmore- your a miserable human who needs control and must be so out of touch with reality that you need to talk to people like they are dumb. I can't recall your name- bc your so insignificant (I think it's something with a k)-- but hey! I promised you the worst yelp review of your career so here it goes! I hope you take a good look at yourself and realize, in the REAL WORLD speaking to a customer means you treat them with respect and care- bc guess what, my business pays your paycheck!
1) went to get bread
2) came home, put the bread in the fridge- next day toasted up a slice!
3) took a nice yummy bite of MOLD
4) threw up
5) called bare naked who pretended to give a shit- said OHHH I'm so sorry blah blah blah- I thought oh wow finally they are probably losing business so they are being nicer!! Had an entire chat I shared I'd be by on Sunday for a refund.
6) today is Sunday! I went in, with my moldy bread in hand! Two really nice girls were working-- I actually hope they quit bc this place is filled with terrible leadership and they don't deserve to have to work under these conditions.
So here's the GOOD STUFF! So I get there- and there's apparently a bread waiting for me. Which I was like umm I want my money back; the one girl calls the manager who I hear her in the background talking... so then she was saying she never said she'd give me the money back etc-- but she's a liar (and I called her one) and then further more asked me to leave my credit card number if I wanted a Credit--Like who in their right mind would do that?
So I say no. And demand my money back in cash right then. At this point I was on the phone with this lovely human who was speaking to me like I was a moron. I told her she's a liar and that I will ruin her on social media (which I will) and then she called me a liar! Customer service? Ok cool. This lady had me YELLING in a cafe, over 11.75! Suddenly after she realized I wasn't the one to play games with she instructed the girls to give me the money back.
Soooo, to sum it up- why did I waste my time doing this review? Bc it's the beginning of my plot to legitimately either make whoever owns this shit bakery to realize that her business will be RUINED any people like her & that if you look everywhere you have the worst reviews, yet stupid people like me go back....well no more! Never ever again. You won't ever see me again, But hey, you've heard that before! I feel bad for the owner, it's clear that they don't understand business if this is how they allow their managers to treat customers. Oh and I'm apparently getting a call from the owner bc this lady wasn't happy with how I was going on I suppose absolutely ridiculous. So if you want shit service and stale food! Go right ahead bare naked is just for you
Anything I have ever tried from this bakery has been absolutely delicious! It is a little pricey but being that gluten- free is their specialty, it is worth it!
This is a GF dedicated bakery and cafe. They also have vegan and dairy free items. I had an “Oreo” cake for my birthday. It was delicious! I even froze the leftovers and it still tasted good. After the success of my birthday cake, I went back and tried the carrot cake, crumb cake, rainbow cookies, and the sandwich bread. Everything was very good! I haven’t tried the cafe menu yet, but plan to and will post a review. Most importantly, I didn’t get sick!
Honestly, this place is such a disappointment. I have tried many times to like this place but every time I walk away wondering why I even bothered. The items are very overpriced and have no taste other than sugar. I went there yesterday bought a carrot cake cupcake and a s’mores brownie. The cupcake was stale and the brownie tasted like sugar not even chocolate, and honestly how do you mess up a brownie. So I’ve been disappointed for the last time, I will not be trying them again.
The service was below par!! I was charged $78 for 18 bagels and a side of cream cheese that I ordered over the phone by a hot mess employee that had no idea what she was doing when she took my phone order. When I called the owner proceeded to tell me it was my fault that “I didn’t ask if the cream cheese was charged per bagel!” WHO ASKS THAT!!! She was rude and nasty and hung up on me! Quite frankly her pastries are dry and heavy and their bagels are extremely dense!! DEFINITELY NOT WORTH THE TRIP!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!
My first real tasting bagel since being diagnosed with Celiac earlier this year! I was so happy to find this cute bakery. 100% GF I was amazed by all of the delicious looking goodies they had in store. I felt safe and the ladies behind the front desk were so kind. I also was able to pick up some of their in-store made GF chocolate cake batter and bread crumbs.
I’m really disappointed with this place they don’t date their bread, went home next day moldy bread twice this has happen with their bread being $12.00 this is unacceptable. I went in and the lady servicing the register was packing the cookies in the container with the same gloves then I ask for my receipt she grab it out of the garbage with the same gloves and went back to packing the cookie disgusting wrote to the email on the website about the issues but never returned.
Best. Bagels. Ever.
I’m from NJ and have always craved a bacon egg and cheese, but have never been able to get one before. This exceeded all of my expectations!!!! Got a BEC with a fried egg and an onion bagel, I’m drooling just thinking about it. My boyfriend and I split an apple turnover too and the puff pastry was so flaky and yummy. Anyone visiting or living in LI has to come here!!
I am new to the gluten free world. I figured I’d give this a try today and I’m sooo happy I did! I had an awesome panini (bbq) chicken and a rainbow cookie (amazing!). I brought home a bunch of goodies to try but so far so good. I’m thrilled to have found this place.
I have been going to BNB for years. I have also been slightly disappointed with the staff at times, sometimes the food, prices, etc. But I go because it’s safe for me and I live close.
Today I was the ONLY customer in there and I asked for a toasted bagel with gluten free cream cheese. They (two younger girls) confirmed it twice with me and I get home with the bagel and there is so little cream cheese that it looks like butter. For almost $5 .. it’s not worth it. So disappointing.
There are much better options out there. I bought croutons which are good, pizza dough which is fair, bagels which are hard as rocks and a 6 inch cake which was $40. On top of that they charge a 3% service fee to use a credit card. I feel like I was taken advantage of, especially on the cake. The bagels are never fresh. I’m done with this place.
I was in awe of their selection! Purchased the following items: turkey panini (great!), bag of chocolate chip cookies (great!), cinnamon sugar crisps (meh), "oreo" brownie (Amazing!!), 2 donuts (meh), and a slice of triple chocolate layer cake (ok, but dry.) Many vegan foods.
Gluten free definitely
Nice space though you can’t sit anymore. Didn’t try the food only dessert. The bread is beyond revolting I wouldn’t bother. The baked goods are decent but are incredibly supersized and over the top pricey. Wish they had smaller items to buy. Nice staff. Decent selection.
Delicious, delicious, delicious! I had a vegan grilled cheese, a cake ball, and a cookiewich. My mom had a grilled cheese. The corn chips that came with the grilled cheeses were addicting. Everything looked so good that i had a hard time choosing what to order! Obviously, my diet stopped here! 🤪
While the bakery is safe for celiacs and dedicated gluten free, the food is just not good. I’ve been here about a dozen times because it’s close and convenient and I just want to like it, but the food is almost always dry, weird or just not tasty. Lots of options but nothing I’d want to eat twice. Bummer.
Everything here was good even got some stuff to take home. It’s extremely celiac friendly and also even promotes a comforting atmosphere for those with celiac such as having a message board in the back containing info about celiac symptoms and local community affairs for people with celiacs. I tried one of the paninis, cookies, brownies, donuts (which where my absolute favorite) the bagels were very good too but I prefer the bagel chips they have there if you love bruschetta that’s what I used them for! They have an assortment of take home stuff including freezer goods and baking supplies! Thankyou so much for creating a safe haven! A lot of products were vegan as well!
I come here every time we come to visit my partner’s family. Don’t love the bagels or pretzels as much, but the cannolis? To. Die. For. Like, I buy several at a time. Haven’t found anything even close to this anywhere else ever. And all celiac friendly and selling other GF items? Totally worth the drive and the prices.
