Anywhere I can get fries is a huge plus for me! Delish burger and GF sweet potato fries. Felt fine after
Stephen was our waiter and was super friendly and knowledgeable about gluten free items on menu. Ordered a burger with gf bun and side of fries(dedicated fried)all the sauces are gf as well. I love the fact that everything gf is labeled on menu. I would def be dining there again!
Food is good and gluten free options labeled. Staff are not all knowledgeable and were very confused at my last visit today about the dedicated fryer situation. After telling us the menu had changed and there were no more gluten free fries an angry manager came over and very sternly told us we were wrong (when it was his staff who told us the menu changed!). Sadly after the service we had today and the angry manager this was our last visit.
Excellent food and service Lots of gf, vegetarian AND vegan options They are absolutely allergy conscious If you mention you want a gf menu or even say you want the gf bun, they immediately ask if you have a gluten sensitivity Try the Farmstead (or any of their exotic burgers i.e.: ostrich) on the gf Tapioca bun! Fries are gf in dedicated fryer Flights of Pickles, hard ciders, ginger beer (some locations have gf beer) plus there's a full bar! Yummy salads, crispy Brussel sprouts are to die for etc... Get a hand Spun milk shake too Bananas foster milk shake is gf!!! Clean food that isn't pretentious Go there, you'll love it
Contrary to an earlier reviewer, although they have a disclaimer because they serve some foods with gluten, they do take many precautions to avoid contamination, such as using new utensils and gloves for a celiac's meal. If you ask for the GF bun, they specifically ask you if you are celiac. The French fries are GF because they have a dedicated fryer. And, they have my favorite cider - Downeast - which is liquid gold and better than most beers.
The food is great! I am vegan & gluten free and I can have a nice flavorful, filling meal. The only reason I give 3 stars and not five is because they do not carry gluten free beer. They have hard apple cider and pear cider and a ginger beer 😡 yuck! Who doesn't want a nice beer to go with their burger & fries..
went there and asked for gf options, they told me that notbing is avtually celiac friendly, rather it is for people trying out a gluten free diet.
Turkey burger and fries that I can eat?!?! In a relaxed friendly environment Great pickles too
Creative and delicious burgers with gluten-free buns available. Many of the toppings and side dishes are off-limits, but the food is still excellent.
My celiac daughter loves the kids cheeseburger and fries. Great atmosphere. Family friendly.
The location was super cute and the service was good. I would've preferred actual bacon. I found the bun dry as well. The catsup offerings were tasty and different.
Great for celiacs. GF buns and the French fries are safe! My son, a celiac, loves the fries!
Great GF options. Salads, sandwiches, all dips are GF.
My wife and I are both gluten-free and bare burger has gluten-free buns that are very good. Also, their sweet potato fries. They have a gluten-free beer but it's on tap and they don't guarantee the barrel as gluten-free. 4 stars because sometimes the service isn't the greatest
I have celiac disease and I go here all the time. Ive had multiple dates here, Ive brought friends, Ive even gone here just for the fox tail pale ale (delicious gf beer) and sweet potato fries they offer. The staff is very knowledgeable about celiac and gluten free. They offer a really good bun too. oh and there milkshakes are amazing. Love this place! definitely going back. Worth the price.
Bareburger is awesome! They are very aware of gluten issues and have gluten-free burger buns and, most important of all, their fries are in a dedicated fryer and therefore truly gluten-free! My son loves his burger and fries there. I love that they offer a collared wrap alternative to a bun and like their Brussels sprouts. And all of their gluten-free salads. I don't eat dairy either, and can get so many things here, it's truly a fun relaxed eating experience. Their menu is completely marked for gluten, dairy and other allergens, and they will show you a listing of all the ingredients in all their foods and sauces if you ask. One of our favorite places!
Our family and friends (a party of 8) went to Bareburger because my youngest who was recently diagnosed with celiac, had been there on a date the week before and loved it. Impressively, the first question our server asked after welcoming us was whether anyone has a food allergy. Burgers were very unique (you could choose one of theirs or build your own), and I had the Blazin' Cattle with beef, pepper jack, fried pickles, spicy fermented slaw, pickled jalapeños, green leaf, sriracha mayo, brioche bun. It was very flavorful. Others had everything from bison to chicken to veggie and were all very pleased. Service was great and place has a cool rustic vibe. My son is a senior at Stevens and that took 10% off the bill which was a very reasonable $133 + tip. We will definitely be back and look forward to trying different burgers! PS - while they can’t guarantee no cross contamination with gluten, my son (and many other Celiac customers I’ve read about on the Find Me Gluten Free app) report no issues with eating at the Hoboken location. Enjoy!
They don't have a separate menu for GF, but on their menu they say GF by appropriate items. I am very sensitive if items are used in the same fryer as flour items, and had no issues with their fries, so I believe they have a separate dryer for their French Fries. The GF bun was amazing!
June 2017 -- Just wanted to update as my last review was in 2014. I have continued to dine here very often and have never once had an issue. They really take gluten free/celiac disease seriously. The burgers are very good. Give it a try. Enjoy! ------ Feb 2014 -- Fabulous! They took every precaution, have dedicated dryers for the French fries or sweet potato fries. I felt very safe and had no reactions. I will definitely return!
They are closed for Good. when navigating Google told me they were permanently closed but I checked anyway only to find out they were right.
I wanted to like this place so bad butttt I went in and ordered a gluten free beer and asked the server if it was certified before I purchased it and he answered yes with an attitude like that was a stupid question to ask... he brings it out and clear on the bottle it says it was processed to remove gluten but MAY CONTAIN GLUTEN.. I called him back over and showed him and he rolled his eyes and said that doesn't matter if it's certified at all and continued to fight me when I said it does.. he legit was fighting with me when I eventually cut him off and said look guy I've been living with celiacs for six years now and I know what I can and cannot eat... it was so upsetting to me and embarrassing to be questioned like that from someone that doesn't even have celiacs and made me feel completely stupid and discriminated against. Anyway the burger came out and the bun was cold and soggy and he continued to be rude to us the rest of the night and I felt like a complete burden even though this is not my choice to live with this disease! Let's just say I will never be going back here again and celiacs beware!!
Didn't eat here just wanted to give all a heads up it is not celiac friendly. Bottom of the menu suggests not to dine if celiac.
Staff was great and assured me they take precautions for cross contamination. Had a burger and fries. Very good and only had indigestion from the carmelized onions that I like but don't like me. Worth it though. The GF bun was so nice looking I checked with the waiter before attacking. He said absolutely it was and he wouldn't let anyone get sick on his watch. My non GF husband had an excellent sandwich he raved about.
In my top three burgers I've ever had, diy burger is a great idea and ginger curry sauce is definitely worth trying, lots of gluten free/vegan options all clearly stated on the menu, super friendly staff, nice atmosphere, highly recommended!
