Dedicated gluten-free fryer. The waitress was very helpful and attentive to making sure that our food was prepared free of our allergens. The burger was delicious, and the gluten-free bun was really tasty. Hard to say whether cross-contamination was an issue, as I was traveling and could have reacted to food I had gotten elsewhere. I have non-celiac gluten sensitivity. They do list on their menu that the kitchen is not celiac-friendly.
GF clearly marked on menu. Excellent GF bun but overall a little pricy for what you get. Also FMGF list address as West Peachtree but it is on Peachtree.
Update 7.31.19: been going somewhat regularly. Sadly gotten rid of most of the obscure meats which is the allure of the place and reason why I’m ok paying 25-30 for a gourmet burger. Still good though and no issues when I do eat there. have a menu different than the ones all around the city. sad they got rid of the tapioca rice bun in exchange for the hemp milk bun but still tasty. Also great to have GF bacon at this location as well. brisket is delicious. was told by the staff not to request to toast bun, since they send it through the same conveyor belt as the other wheat-based buns.
The food was great, and the person who took our order was very careful to inform the cooking staff that we had gluten allergies (and dairy allergies) in our order. They have a separate fryer for gf French fries, which is always a welcome surprise. They also had a bunch of special sauces which were GF. Nobody got sick. I would definitely go there again
Due to positive reviews, I tried BareBurger. I am very sensitive to gluten, and the lovely hostess reassured me that they are very careful in the kitchen. Our waiter, David, was also quite convincing, and proved to be right. He is great. The food delicious. Best bun! Dedicated fryer for waffle fries not greasy.
Delicious, staff was very good and they seem to have safe kitchen practices. Had a cheeseburger on a good GF bun, fries were great, and flourless chocolate cake was a solid desert. No issues after, will go back anytime.
DELICIOUS burger AND FRIESSSSSS! They have a dedicated fryer and prep section for those with food allergies which is amazing. The menu is easy to navigate and clearly labeled. Wait staff is very knowledgeable which is great. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 is bc of the price. I’m used to paying more for my gf/df foods but for once I’d like to not have to spend like $60 on 2 people. But I will absolutely be back
My 1st time eating out GF and was really missing a real burger w/roll and fries Bare burger in Astoria did not disappoint, waitress was helpful and knowledgeable Burger was tasty, a bit dry for me, the fries were heavenly. I recommend!
Visiting New York I was concerned about eating out. I am very severe Celiac. I have eaten there twice. And the burger and fries were perfect. Chicken strips we're safe but lots of batter. I recommend this one!
I have gotten sick here 2x. The first time my food was clearly cross contaminated and I got sick. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and went back one more time for brunch. My eggs came out with regular bread. When I told the waiter they needed to make me a whole new dish because I had celiac he brought back another plate a little too quickly. I asked if it was new food and he said yes. I got sick anyhow and I suspect they did not actually change the food and just changed the bread which had already touched the eggs. Never again
I used to eat at bare burgers throughout the city on occasion when I was /really/ craving a burger. I then came to realize that maybe half the time I get mildly glutened. Pretty good but perhaps overpriced food... if you’re feeling lucky.
Dedicated fryer for sweet potato fries, delicious GF bun, many many options for food. I was extremely happy with my options, almost all toppings and all sauces are GF! The waiter was not the most friendly which made me a little concerned as the rest of the staff was amazing, it I did not get sick.
3 drinks, 1 big Fries, 1 bunless burger, 20% tip= $75.53. Delicious, but damn baby 😘
Is it celiac safe? Definitely. I would give it 5 stars just for that. But the burgers are just not that great. They’re tiny and dry and flavorless. I love the GF options but at the end of the day a Burger needs to be delicious. The fries are pretty good. Overall the menu is pretentious (real bacon never bored anyone, no thanks on the duck bacon) but I can always find something to eat.
Safe! I didn’t get sick after! had a beef burger on the GF bun and it was good. The bun is a little dense, but I'm not complaining considering it didn't fall apart and had good flavor! Compared to the other stuff that's out there, it was great! Fries, sauces and almost all sides are safe for GF too.
Sometimes gluten free but usually not. They will tell you that they'll try or that it will be gluten free but it probably won't be.
They seem to have a ton of options, but we’ve ordered burgers with gluten free buns from them twice and both times our Nima sensor found gluten.
I ordered a collard green wrapped burger with fries and I got sick. I specifically told the guy who took my order that I had a gluten and dairy allergy and to PLEASE make sure that they changed their gloves and the food was prepped on a clean surface. Something went wrong and I’ve been sick for 2 days. Sucks because I’ve eaten here a few time before without issues but it’s not worth the risk again. It’s clearly hit or miss
Had the farmburger which is a mix of sweet potato, wild rice and kale wrapped in Swiss Chard. Fabulous. No reaction. Food-wise, all the taste of a burger without that beef hangover (feeling too full). Looking forward to going again!
Great experience and great food! The menu says their restaurant “is not suitable for those with celiac disease” - but I took my chances and was fine! Server was very good with communicating to the cooks I had celiac. The GF bun is delicious! French fries and sweet potato fries are done in their own fryer - so they are good to go! :)
