The server understood celiacs and gluten free and made me feel confident my food would be safe. The hamburger bun actually tasted pretty good and my food tasted good and I didn't get sick which is sometimes hard to find for me. I got the bacon burger, can't remember the actual name.
This place is amazing! There are so many gluten-free choices and our waitress was very knowledgeable. I got the cilantro black bean burger, truffle style fries, and salted caramel, banana, and peanut butter milkshake. Everything tasted amazing and the burger was one of the top three I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!
We had a great meal at Bareburger. Nearly the whole menu is gluten free including fries and fried chicken. When my celiac daughter ordered a GF roll, waiter asked if it was an allergy and then said they would take good care of us. They have four separate gluten free friers. We had regular cheeseburgers, fried chicken and hot grilled chicken…all delicious. And the truffle fries were amazing!
Great options for celiac peeps. I had the fried chicken sandwich on GF Bun, fries, and friend pickles. I was excited about my options. GF is indicated on the menu. Burger bun wasn’t warm or toasted so easily fell apart. However, I’m happy they had a safe option for me. Options to me are more important. The pickles were amazing. The fried chicken on the sandwich was delicious. My fries were overcooked. But, I don’t take off for that because I feel it was just a one off.
GF items clearly marked and the server had good knowledge. I had the elk burger, which was delicious . Lots of options!!
Stopped in after a volleyball tournament across the street— grabbed some take out, but had to order in person to let them know I am celiac (I feel it can easily be read over when ordering online)
The food was DELICIOUS! & the majority of the menu was gluten free! Bartender was very knowledgeable & made me feel comfortable that the food would be safe!
Everything was absolutely delicious and everyone was friendly. The waitress asked us if we had any allergies, and let us know they were very accommodating. Kid-approved, and even my non GF family members loved everything. Would definitely go back.
Awesome gf fried pickles, fries, popcorn chicken, crispy chicken sandwiches and more. We had a great experience here and found it super easy to order gf. The server said they have 2 fried items with gluten (onion rings and one other) but the gluten items have their own separate fryer. All sandwiches can be ordered with a gf bun. Absolutely delicious, we will be back!
I was glutened. i ordered a gluten free Buffalo chicken sandwich and told my server I had celiac. When I asked for it without cheese, she offered vegan cheese. How she spoke about it showed that she didn’t have a clear understanding of the difference between vegan versus gluten free. To make it WAY worse, when my meal arrived, they gave me the wrong meal on a brioche bun instead of the gluten free bun. Luckily I only took one bite before realizing that there was no Buffalo sauce but still for a place with a dedicated gluten free fryer, this was very disappointing. They comped the meal as an apology, but still I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone with celiac or a serious gluten allergy.
It was the easiest, and had the most convenient gf offerings, not to mention delicious. Ordered take out in person, and on the website. We've had the fried chicken spicy sandwich, salad, burger, fries, fried pickles, and milkshake so far! Absolutely 💯 Amazing 👏 they take "allergies " serious. And they were super fast, that was a plus for our rush.
Had an incredible burger! Vegan and gf. It was clearly an udi’s bun, which tipped me off right away it was definitely GF. The staff was incredible! I ordered a to-go order and went to pick it up...from the wrong location, and the manager from the one I ordered from drove it out to me. Great lunch, above and beyond service.
Wow!!! Don't even get me started.. first, dedicated fryers, that's a win in any celiac situation.. next, the chicken is top of the line premium, best chicken sandwich I ever had in my life.. NO WORRIES OF CROSS-CONTAMINATION THEY GOT YOUR BACK FOR SURE.. out of all the restaurants I've been too this is top 5 no doubt
After asking many questions regarding if safe to eat for a celiac they assured me they use proper handling and are knowledgable on the disease. Within minutes of my daughter with celiac eating a bite of her burger she was sick! Which means she was glutened! Ruined our NYE plans and left my daughter in a lot of misery. So disappointed. Would rather them turn me away then be careless. Will not be back. Not safe for Celiac’s
This restaurant ruined our New Year’s Eve Party. Even though we repeatedly informed them that my niece has Celiac, and she only got a simple burger, she was sick before she finished the burger. Now instead of counting down the new year, she is dealing with intense pain and unable to participate. Will never eat here again.
It was ok. Unfortunately we didn’t care for their options. It was expensive and had a little more vegetation than we prefer. As far as GF goes though it’s very friendly.
Bareburger is a quiet little restaurant between 8th and 9th Avenues. They offer burgers and sandwiches, including the incredible burger for their vegan patrons.
Almost every offering has a gluten free option. While they do not have a separate GF menu, everything on the menu is clearly marked, and many sections are labeled “naturally gluten free”. They do have a dedicated fryer that only cooks fries and sweet potato fries.
I ended up getting a cheezeburger with sweet potato fries, and a (mostly) vegan, coconut-based chocolate peanut butter “milk”shake. (The chocolate sauce had a “may contain” for milk, and I decided to risk it.) The burger with vegan cheddar came out flagged and was one of the best I’ve had in a long time, the SP fries were delicious, and the milkshake was simply heaven.
My husband (mainstream, not GF ) got the pastrami, and said that our 6-hour flight to get to NYC was worth it just for that.
Not only do we intend to return before our trip is over, but it is on our short-list of emergency-back-up-I’m-starving-you-better-feed-me restaurants.
