Staff was knowledgeable about gluten free. Most things on the menu are GF, except for a fee that are clearly marked not gluten-free. I had to call someone over to confirm after I received the fish tacos since they were fried (I was expecting grilled/baked fish.) They were indeed GF— their tempura batter is rice based.
Great tacos and cocktails!!! Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. I’ve eaten here several times and never gotten sick.
Just had dinner so it's a little early to tell if I have a reaction, but the staff made me feel really confident that they had things under control. Great menu, tons of GF (and dairy free) choices. Every allergy ticket is run up separately and under the manager's supervision. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Fun atmosphere, reasonable prices. Dedicated fryer. All the tacos are GF!
Almost everything is gluten free and delicious. Never had a bad reaction here.
So so good! 99% GF place. I go 1x a week....
Safe? Yes. Delish? Yes. Pricey to get your fill? Yes.
A fantastic place I will absolutely be visiting again. the menu is gluten free to such an extent that they label the food that DOES contain gluten (and nuts). smaller portions sizes, much like tapas. the staff is very knowledgeable and willing to accomidate. simple dining experience. delicious food. recommend the duck, sesame ribeye, and pork belly tacos. guac also not bad. good atmosphere, casual but can also be a little more if you like. tl;dr - great place. very gluten friendly. delicious food. will certainly be visiting again.
Everything on menu is gluten free except a few items identified with a "*". Good food. Tapas style menu. Nice patio.
Amazing! I have Celiac and am rarely able to eat out. I had no issues eating here. Great atmosphere, not too busy,l. I was told that everything on the menu is gluten free except for one soup and some desserts. All the tacos, sauces, chips and fryers are gluten free. Their tacos are a smaller, tapas style size where you order by the taco. All the flavors I tried were awesome and best of all, I felt great afterwards, never got sick! I will definitely be back when I come back in town.
Almost 5.. almost a huge mishap but they were very apologetic and took 25.00 off our bill. Brought out our kids with celiac tacos and quesadillas on flour tortillas. I questioned the food runner, he insisted they were corn, I tried them and they were flour. The waitress can running out and said they got the order wrong . It could have been bad but not with mama bear.
So they do have corn tortillas and the tacos tasted okay but it’s way too expensive and the flavor didn’t match the decor or location. Also the tacos are so thin authentic Mexican taco trucks or street vendors because let’s face it this is street food usually double them up to hold the meat etc but this place is so cheap they give you one and over charge you. I’m not cheap I’ll pay for quality food and flavor but if I can make something better than a gastropub which typically prides itself in from scratch quality food then I’m not going to bother. It’s a lovely place and if you’re looking for a place opened late and street food at a high price then go; the staff is knowledgeable and they do have GF options.
The food was delicious and majority of menu naturally gluten free! Tacos are smaller scale and made with corn tortillas. I’ve been many times and always great. Dedicated fryer...make sure you inform them of allergies. They put a butter spray on chips....make sure you let them know if you cannot tolerate and they will eliminate that step.
My server was very knowledgeable about what I could eat that was both GF and DF. I had many more options than I'm used to having. The manager stopped by to ensure I was having a good experience. Very impressed! I'll drive the 45 minutes to eat here again.
This spot is AMAZING!! Our waitress was knowledge about celiac and assured me the kitchen knew how to prep gluten free. About 90% of the menu is naturally gluten free the only thing not indicated on the menu was the mojo pork carnitas (they cook in beer). The pork belly and chorizo tacos were fantastic I can’t wait to go back!
It's easier to say what isn't gluten free because most everything is gluten free! So happy to see that one of my favorite Atlanta restaurants is in Birmingham!! My favorite tacos are the fried oyster (yes, gluten free,) tuna, sesame sirloin and duck. The margaritas are made with fresh ingredients and are very yummy.. I can also recommend the chips and guacamole and/or salsa.
Being a celiac of 17 years, I bought a Nima gluten tester device as soon as it came out. I tested both the mushroom and shrimp tacos separately and both were 100% gluten free! Talked to the general manager and they have a separate gf prep space and it shows.
I'm a celiac and get symptoms if I invest gluten. Also, I test food in Nima gluten sensor to make sure it's gluten free. Tried 2 dishes at this restaurant and both tested gluten free. No symptoms and truly happy experience. Moreover, food was awesome and all my friend liked it. Instead of a gluten free menu, they label food items that 'contain gluten'. Pretty interesting and looks like it works too. Highly recommended place.
At here twice during my trip in Nashville and it was wonderful. They serve small street tacos, each taco being about 3 to 4 bites. My favorite tacos were the Baja fish taco coated in gf flour (rice flour, probably) with a yummy slaw and the Pork Pastor taco (sweet and kinda spicy mesquite flavor). The only gluten really on the menu is the flour tortillas, but they do a great job of not coming into contact with the other food. I had no reactions, only cravings to go back!
