Bartaco is so fantastic for anyone with food sensitivities. I am so happy they finally have Raleigh location! Their menu is clearly marked with any items that DO contain gluten, which is only a couple. Everything else is safe! This will be my new favorite gluten-free spot in town.
Great place to go have lunch and dinner solo or with friends. Tacos are GF because they use corn. You can sub for lettuce cups. 95% of the menu is GF. So lots of options for everyone. They have gluten removed beer and a cider. Also their cocktails are gf. You can write in the menu your allergens. I wrote no gluten or dairy and so any item I ordered that comes with dairy they took the dairy off. Menu is written so they label items that have gluten in it.
The menu has mostly GF items, so many things to choose from. Knowledgeable staff, although not the quickest, it is very busy for good reason. The rock shrimp tacos are AMAZING. Can have a great meal without much fear of getting sick.
Amazing place! Right outside the Macy’s at King of Prussia Mall. Very cautious of allergies and serves gluten free tacos. Each guest fills out their own order card and can specifically write their allergies and preferences! Great sit down place and bar.
Bartaco was wonderful! They have a separate fryer for their gluten free options and the waiter asked about allergies. My celiac kids ate the chips and salsa, fried corn fritters, chicken empanadas and a couple different tacos. Neither had any reactions and both want to return. Sadly, there are no gluten free deserts.
Love the tacos here, mostly all are naturally GF and very yummy!! Chips and guac, chopped salad, and mexican corn are also really good. love coming here in the summer but definitely gets crowded so come early!
Went here on Friday night and almost everything on the menu is GF! Tacos come out on GF corn tortillas unless Flour is specifically asked for. They serve everything family style so if someone orders a flour tortilla- make sure to request it comes out on a different plate. I also had the street corn which was also GF and very tasty!
Celiac daughter was able to enjoy most of the same tacos as our entire party. They even made her a quesadilla with the corn tortillas. She had the chocolate gelato for dessert. Staff were great, very knowledgeable. It was a nice change to see a menu where the items with gluten were marked rather than vice versa.
I’ve eaten Bartaco in other cities, and always look for one when I travel. Almost everything in the menu is GF. Menu items that aren’t are marked (usually the other way around). The duck taco is hands down the best! And get the fried plantains!
Visited the Atlanta/Chastain location - one of 3 in Atlanta. So many items are GF here that menu actually designates what "contains gluten" instead and those are mostly desserts. You order on a piece of paper and add there is a spot for your "allergies". The sever goes over it with you. I was told when I called ahead they use an allergy stamp. Both the person on the phone and server were knowledgeable and 2 Celiacs in the family felt safe. One ordered a variety of tacos and the other a rice bowl. Place has a nice vibe and there is call ahead seating (or on the app). Good experience!
Edit the food is ok, but the wait staff can be very in your face many times during the meal. And not in a cool way. This place is almost 100% gluten free and the staff is very aware of all allergies. The food was not that interesting but the wait staff were kind, and there was hot sauce for the tacos. Besides the fried fish and shrimp tacos are gluten free !
They have the few gluten containing items marked on the menu. I actually emailed the manager of this location last year to get more details on how they make certain dishes to verify the safety, and got detailed information about almost every dish on the menu! One of the very very few non dedicated gluten free places that we actually trust! Bonus, the kids love it
The staff and general manger were excellent. The food is fresh and delicious. Price is excellent for the portions. Make sure you get the street corn fritters. Everything is gluten free except desserts. I would not take small children. No regrets at all and I’m pretty picky. I will be back!!
Solid month-old Mexican fusion restaurant in Seaport District. 90% of menu is gluten free with dishes containing gluten indicated. Good reasonably priced drink list with cocktails, beer, wine and sangria.
Love this place! The staff was well trained, very knowledgeable and accommodating. Most of the menu is naturally gluten free and absolutely delicious. Only bummer is they carry a gluten-reduced beer option. Would prefer a pure GF beer. Cider was an option.
LoVE Bartaco. I've been to both the North Hills and the Chapel Hill location and eaten with no reaction. I love their guacamole and chips (fried corn tortilla) and their grilled corn. I've yet to have a bad taco (I've had the baja fish, mono pork carnitas, crispy rock shrimp, and glazed pork belly. Both the fish and shrimp tacos have breaded and fried protein made with a cornmeal breading that was so good that I verified its lack of gluten multiple times. On their menu, they have so much that is already gluten free that they mark what does contain gluten as opposed to what does not. Absolutely love eating at bartaco!
The order card had it's own "allergy?" Section. Bartender was very kind and double checked everything for me. Separate fryer so I could have chips and guac! Almost (if not all) the tacos are safe!! Only sad part is that the falafel is made in same fryer as churro, however they were very up front about it. Yay!
Grabbed a quick lunch on the way to the Atlanta History Center just down the road. Very fast service and fantastic options. The Rock shrimp tacos are fantastic and I have never has such good shrimp in a taco. . The pork and chicken are great as well. The tacos are small to get 3 and some tottas and guacamole as well for a good lunch. The only thing not gluten free are the deserts and quasedas. Great drink and beer selections. Parking was a challenge until we found the back parking lot to the left of the restaurant. The way you order is you check off what you want on a form on the table and put it on display for the waitress to pick up.
The staff was very knowledgeable about Gluten and Allergies. They have items containing gluten clearly marked on the menu. Ricky, the manager was awesome!!! Even double checked that the soy glazed tuna was made with Tamari. Will definitely be going back!
Love this place! They have cards to write down your order with an area for allergies and they always verify verbally. Only a few things are not gluten free and they take precautions. Kids meal is not gf so I always ask them to switch the flour tortillas for corn, which they do no problem. The food is great as well! Even gf falafel tacos and breading is rice based on fried foods!
I’ve been several times and have had safe Celiac experiences! The mojo pork carnitas and chicken pastor are my favorite. I haven’t tried the corn tortillas, but opt for the bibb lettuce instead. The plantains are also really good.
