The reviews are positive but just had an overall terrible experience. They have gluten free options everywhere, ordered a CIDER and got served a BEER and drank it before i realized it. Have spent last 12 hours with symptoms. Be super careful going here because obviously the staff doesn’t know the difference between a cider and a beer.
Food has always been great here. While most of the food is gluten free, there's still some items that contain it being prepared in the same kitchen so be careful to note on your items that you have a reaction to gluten. Staff is very knowledgeable with gluten intolerances.
Got on the waiting list and still waited over an hour. The food had a great taste except for the rib-eye sesame taco. The cucumber salad tasted bland to me but they were fresh. All salsas and guacamole were great. My mouth had broke out and I was hurting and burping before I ever reached my car. Hard to understand how a place with so few gluten items could get it so badly.
Came here for an early dinner around 5pm. Lovely atmosphere and friendly employees. You order through a QR code on your phone and there is a way that you can select an allergy for each taco you order, so no need to mention for them to change their gloves! The waiter said there were only a few items that contained gluten, but that majority of the offerings are gluten free! I ordered 4 tacos (don’t worry all are on corn tortillas!) and they came out quick with an allergy napkin. Super yummy tacos and they have several unique flavors! They also list out all the ingredients so if you have other allergies, it’s easy to see what you can have. Highly recommend!
I’ve been here several times and it’s one of my favorite restaurants. The food is so good, and they’re really great about handling allergies. My only complaint is that you have to be a careful when they bring your food as sometimes the tacos can get confused with other people’s at your table or added to the same plate as someone else at your table. Also, at one point they were using paper straws which sometimes have gluten in them, so watch out for that. Other than that, I always feel pretty safe eating here, and the food is awesome!
very pleasant! someone in my party had a carrot allergy and there was carrots in the plate. our server took it back to the kitchen and told us when she came back out that she watched them make it to be sure there was no cross contamination. i'm gluten and dairy free. you order on line and you can put your allergies in. or if you order on the paper, there's a spot at the bottom for allergies. highly recommend!
What a great experience! Really fun. Almost everything is gf - truly gf, as in safe for celiac. You use the app to order food and pay for it, so that’s super convenient once you’re up to speed. The service was great- lots of check ins to see if we needed anything. I told them celiac when I arrived and they confidently told me how they are free of gluten and cross contamination. I ordered tons of food and it was all great. I’m a wimp with spices, and the least spicy items were the half chicken, chips and guacamole, pork belly taco, & crispy oyster taco. Def going back!
Their tacos are small which they fully disclose to you but I would personally recommend getting more than they suggest. I can honestly say I have no real complaints though! There is only one item on the menu that contains gluten and everything else is safe. They are simply delicious and I love the online ordering system.
This place is AMAZING! The food is sooo good! The manager was so nice and wonderful explaining everything to me. Pretty much everything on the menu is gluten free except an item on the kids menu and the desserts - and they cook those items at a different part of the kitchen and do not share a fryer. I am a severe celiac and had no problem. The food was so good that the group I was with had no idea that the tacos were all gluten free and wants to go back (proving that gluten free can be delicious!) I will definitely be going back!!
I’ve been to Bartaco in Raleigh twice and had the best experience. Almost everything is GF, and very allergen friendly in general - everything is clearly labeled and they take care to avoid cross contamination with the few items that contain gluten (separate fryers as well). Not to mention, the food is DELICIOUS and service is great. Try the pork belly tacos!!
Wonderful experience here! The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. There isn’t a GF menu but everything on the menu is GF except the churros. The manager even mentioned that the churros are fried in a separate fryer before I could ask. I definitely will be back and highly recommended Bartaco. Give it a try!
Almost the entire menu is GF (although no separate menu), and when ordering (online right now even when you go in person), you can select GF and DF among other allergies. Food is always delicious, and their margaritas are the best around. Only place in North Hills that I feel like is always safe for CD.
(I’m not celiac but will get noticeably sick if there is any gluten in the food that I eat.) I’ve been to Bartaco four times, and not once have I ever had any sort of reaction to the food there. The menu doesn’t directly indicate which foods are GF but I learned from asking that about 85-90% of the menu can be made GF upon request, and their menu you can order online from had a gluten free option you can hit. The staff thoroughly checks each of the items and they were knowledgeable about the ingredients in everything. And when I asked they said that the gluten free food was made on separate sanitized grills, with separate utensils. The food is delicious, and I would definitely recommend!
Delicious food. Allergens clearly labeled on menu and online ordering platform asks about allergies on each item ordered. Seemed like 90% was gf. Food was delicious. I got the pork belly bowl, husband got a selection of tacos. You have the choice between lettuce or corn tortillas.
The staff was able to answer all of my questions. They have 7 fryers and all but one is gluten free. Everything is served with corn tortillas unless otherwise specified. All alcoholic drinks except some beer were gluten free. Can eat most of what’s on the menu.
Lobster and fried fish taco are excellent! Was able to eat the homemade chips and salsa which were also very good. Most items are gluten free.
This location doesn’t have table service you order online after downloading the QR code. At first it’s kind of a hassle since no one is there to Answer questions but they are helpful once you get someone to your table. After figuring it out it’s quite convenient. And ordering additional food or drinks is very convenient as well. Service was quick
There are more gluten-free things on their menu than non gluten-free so they mark the things with gluten. The staff is super great about explaining everything to you and their allergy process not just for gluten but any allergy. They use a separate order card and tray for customers with dietary restrictions. I've eaten here twice and not gotten sick. It's also very nice that they use a gluten free flour in their breaded fish.
Some of the best tacos in town. I love that you can mix and match different kinds. I highly recommend the brussel sprouts taco.
Bartaco is a great place for a celiac. Most everything is gluten free. There was a delay in seating us so the manager gave us a free chips/dips appetizer when finally seated. The pork belly taco was my favorite. The fish taco is fried fish with a gf breading so it was very tasty.
The food was excellent. I got the pork belly, chicken verde & grilled adobo pineapple tacos along with the chips and guacamole. The menu is mainly all gluten free but what does contain gluten is marked on the menu. The staff was attentive and super sweet. My 6 year old ate the kids fish taco that was also gluten free and asked for seconds.
