Fam, eat here at your own risk. I went in and showed them my card, and they walked me through the options. Then I asked a follow up question and showed the picture of knorr on my phone and said I can’t have this and she said that knorr is in everything and said that the only thing I could eat is the salad. I ended up ordering the omelette with steamed white rice after asking all the questions another time. Seems they don’t know that knorr contains gluten.
Excellent for gluten free. There are 3 coeliacs in our family and we handed over a card that said no knorr, no wheat flour and no soy sauce and the guy Danh told is what we could eat. We all enjoyed the vietnamese pancake it was delicious. The spring rolls were great. Dan understood what gluten free was. No sep menu.
The staff and the owner here is very aware and knowledgeable. There were plenty of traditional vietnamese dishes (even vegetarian) I could choose between. I decided to go with the Banh Xeo and the fried tofu. They used a new pan and even fresh oil to fry the tofu so that it is safe for me. The food was absolutely delicious. Ruby (our perfectly nice and very helpful waitress) even showed me how to eat Banh Xeo right. The sesame sauce was so good, that we wanted to buy it for ourself so we asked which sesame sauce they use. After we googled it, we found out, that it is not gluten free. We informed Ruby and the owner and they were really sorry. When we left the owner sat on a table with the sesame sauce and googled something. Turned out, that just the imported sesame sauce in Germany contains gluten but not the vietnamese sauce that is used here in the restaurant. So everything were perfectly fine! Came back the next day before we left town. This time I ate the vegetarian fresh spring rolls. Make sure to make a reservation because they are very busy the whole day!
