Wasn’t super impressed, I went there with high hopes but was told they couldn’t open a new thing of ice cream because it would be too frozen to scoop. The employee then recommended two flavors that hadn’t been scooped yet and were free from contamination but neither were labeled gluten free. Ended up buying a pint of ice cream then tossing most of it because we had a day out planned and I couldn’t save the rest of it.
Tasty icecream. Very busy when we went, but i asked if they could get me new icecream from the back. No problem. They changed gloves, washed the scoop with soap and then went back to get my ice cream. Gluten free flavors are labeled in the case. Owner was nice and accommodating. Had vegan options as well.
Betty Rae’s was the best gluten free ice cream. The only place my kid who is dying from Celiac disease will eat. Love you Betty Rae’s!

Betty Rae’s just recently started making GF waffle cones. I was nervous because it wasn’t listed on their menu, and it was a really busy time when I went. But I watched them make the whole thing. They made it fresh and it had its own separate prep area, waffle machine, and tools. They also got a new scoop (because I asked them to). And it was all worth it and sooo delicious. I was so happy about the experience! I will say I waited to post this review to see if I actually ended up sick somehow (guess I was skeptical) but I feel fine more than 12 hours later!
We got one of the ice cream flights and the worker really let us customize because of the different allergens. There are tons of flavors to choose from, and they’re all super creative and flavorful. The worker offered to get a fresh tub from the back, switch gloves, and get a new scoop which I greatly appreciated.
Delicious! Some of the best ice cream we’ve had (and we’ve lived in Europe). Online you can see a list of allergens, they scooped down to get fresh ice cream when we let them know about allergies. Highly recommend Brown Butter Pecan and Goat Cheese with Apricot and candies Walnuts. My husband got Brown Butter Pecan and Coffee. People with us had Strawberry and Mint Flake. All very good and they are naturally flavored and colored! 🙌🏼 No GF cones but the ice cream was so good we didn’t even miss it!
Same scoops used for all ice cream. They don’t change gloves when touching GF items.
GF items are marked on online menu which was helpful because they weren’t in store.. I went two nights in a row and told the workers that I had celiac and they cleaned scoops for me (two different workers) and then used a new/clean side of the container to scoop mine separately!!! It was so delicious and I wish I didn’t live so far away or I would come all the time!!!!
Changes gloves and got a clean scoop. GF items not marked. Stuck with vanilla to be safe. High possibility of cross contamination, use your own judgement if Celiac, I took the risk and did not get sick.
Great ice cream with interesting flavors. They are knowledgeable about gluten and will always change gloves, sanitize scoop, and even get a fresh tub of ice cream if you ask.
Several flavors are gluten free and had a gluten free sugar cone. Yum!
They also have dairy-free and vegan options.
