Visiting from California—husband has celiac. It’s his birthday and we were thrilled to find this amazing spot! We had banana cream and pumpkin (seasonal) as well as beignets. Absolutely delicious!! These donuts are better than many traditional donut shops I’ve had and didn’t leave me feeling that sick post-donut misery. The vibe of the shop is adorable too.
this place is heaven. i haven’t stopped thinking about it since i first went there a few months ago (i live in st. george).
they’re opening a location down here next month and im so excited. 😭 there’s nothing quite like knowing there isn’t any gluten in the kitchen, so you don’t have to worry.
not to mention the donuts are freaking amazing.
Update: for three visits they were out of donuts. When they finally had some, they had gotten rid of their Boston cream style Bismarck, replacing it with a cannoli cream filled Bismarck dusted with powdered sugar. It was horrible; filling was an overwhelming bitter orange rind flavor competing with a bitter almond extract flavor completely missing any cream texture or flavor. The filling melted out during a 3 minute drive, coating the other two donuts in the container. Couldn’t get anyone to finish it due to an unpleasant taste. Spent $24 on 3 donuts, all ruined from the filling flavor. When my daughter had gone to get a raspberry jam filled beignet on another visit, the jam was spoiled, and inedible. So sad, we loved it for a couple months:( I hope they can clean up the problems and bring back their previous flavors! Previously I had said: Best gluten free donuts I’ve had. Still warm when you get them, they’re made to order. My favorite was the chocolate covered vanilla cream filled Bismarck, but all were tasty. My daughter’s favorite is the raspberry filled beignets topped with powdered sugar. 100%GF donut shop!
The banana cream pie donut and the pumpkin pie donut were both amazing. We ate them at the restaurant and I think they’re probably best that way. They make them fresh per order. My daughter was just diagnosed with celiac and we’re trying to find things she can enjoy, and these were a great treat even if we weren’t avoiding gluten. We also tried the maple donut and it wasn’t as good as the other two.
Amazing! Originally a regular donut shop now turned 100% dedicated gluten free facility. One of the best Bismark donuts I have ever had! We also loved the apple fritter and maple bacon. So many great flavors in both cake and YEASTED donuts. Can’t wait to try the beignets.
These are the best gluten free RAISED doughnuts ever!! When going GF usually your only option for doughnuts are cake doughnuts. I got the vanilla Bismarck, and maple glazed doughnuts and some beignets. Everything was phenomenal!! The vanilla filling in the Bismarck was tasteless but it’s covered in cinnamon and sugar so it was still delicious. This was my first time trying a beignet and it was incredibly tasty!! I got the powdered sugar, Nutella filled and the cinnamon and sugar covered one and they were so good I almost cried!!
bismarck donuts is absolutely phenomenal. they recently switched to a 100% gluten free facility. the donuts are always fresh, warm, and delicious. they sell many different varieties of donuts along with beignets with a large selection of flavors, toppings, and fillings. the staff are very nice, and the wait time is very quick for how popular they are.
I finally made a visit today on the way back to Salt Lake from a road trip and they did not disappoint! They’re made fresh and are phenomenal warm. I bought several of the raised donuts and would say the texture is between Krispy Kreme and a cake donut. Not cakey at all—they have a wonderful, chewy spring to them. There were 6-7 raised flavors and 2 cake favors when I stopped by on a Saturday mid-afternoon. I thought the chocolate and the strawberry versions were the best. I’m still in awe the owner transitioned the bakery to be 100% gf. Pinch me! Can’t wait to go back.
Bismarck is 100% gluten free now and AMAZING.
My boyfriend, who has celiac, was never able to eat proper donuts before and was over the moon when we found these guys.
The flavors and textures are delicious and I definitely like them as much as gluten donuts and both my boyfriend and I feel really safe eating here.
My only complaint is that Bismarck is not a quick stop place. All of the donuts are made fresh which is wonderful, but everytime I’ve gone for donuts (I usually get a half dozen) it takes well over 20 minutes to glaze and package my donuts. It’s understandable, but if you’re hoping to just run in and grab a donut really fast, you might be a little disappointed.
It’s a little pricey at $4-$5 per donut, but very tasty and the safety of the facility feels worth the price to me. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to all my celiac friends 😊
Drove from Canada with the intent to stop here. It was well worth the stop. My daughter and I both have Celiac disease. We felt so safe eating here. We ordered 4 different types to share with the family. The lemon was the favorite! We will be picking up more tomorrow.
100% GF as of July! Not only are the doughnuts delicious, but the owner is an absolute gem. Like many gf people, it has been YEARS since I’ve had a raised doughnut. These were crisp on the outside, yet incredibly fluffy on the inside… doughnut heaven.
The owner says that several months ago, he hadn’t even heard of “celiac.” Once he figured out the right formula for the gf donuts, he quickly realized how appreciative and kind gf customers are and is now happy to cater to the community. Our family went out of our way to visit, and it was definitely worth the trip!
Holy smokes! These donuts are wonderful! Don’t sleep on them; the different flavors sell out quickly.
They offer cake donuts and yeast-leavened, and they fry up the yeast-leavened upon order. Then they dip them into your requested glaze flavor.
We were able to try the yeast-leavened, with chocolate, vanilla (traditional glazed) and maple. They were all drool worthy, but we agreed that maple had the slight winning edge.
The baker mentioned that you have a better chance at variety options if you arrive before, say, 1pm each day (or even earlier!) Regardless of what you end up with, I don’t think you’ll walk out disappointed. These are some real legit donuts!
OH MY are these donuts good!! They fry them fresh to order! They rotate flavors. When we travel thru the area we always stop and one of these times I’m hoping to get a jelly filled donut!! My all time favorite and haven’t had one in many many years! They are best when they are fresh. We get extras for the next day with traveling and they are ok.
These donuts were so amazing, I was so worried the whole time while eating them that maybe they weren’t actually gluten free. But I didn’t get sick at all, and I’m super sensitive! The guy working told me there was a separate fryer and equipment for all the gluten free stuff. They made mine fresh and it was amazing. 10/10 recommend!!!
