The best gluten free pizza I've ever had! I will be back for their gluten free skillet cookie before this trip is over! Their menu is clearly marked, but honestly kind of confusing (for example, there is a gluten free marker next to their gluten free hamburger buns, but not next to any of their burgers and they all have a ton of toppings, like pulled pork or barbecue sauce, which you can't tell if they are gluten free by name alone). Our waitress was very sweet, hunted me down a gluten free menu, and checked with the kitchen about their burgers - which are not gluten free. They are grilled with everything else, just so everyone knows.
Good food - good service - the food took a long time for us today on a big busy day - but our server was friendly and helpful
Great experience. Waiter Kevin was very knowledgeable on gluten free and Celiac disease. He assured me the chefs would prepare all gluten free food in a separate area and the pizza was delicious! Will definitely be returning to try other options!
We came to BJ's for two main reasons. 1st they were open until 12am (midweek) so we didn't have to feel odd for dining at 11pm when other places were getting ready to close or were already closed. 2nd we had seen on other sites that they were gluten Intolerant friendly. They even had their own gluten-free menu. I will agree, the Brussels sprouts were very yummy. I hate every one of them! I would definitely order them and recommend them. I had the jambalaya. It had a "blackened" flavor more so than a spicy or Cajun flavor. It was different than I expected, but still very good. My partner, who has celiac disease, ordered the gluten-free pizza. (I was allowed a small bite) The cheese was good. Didn't taste like your typical pizza cheese. For being gluten-free it was tasty. The other couple dining with us had the jalapeño burger and shrimp pasta. Both said they enjoyed there meal. Our waitress was awesome. Never an empty glass. She never made us feel rushed, even though we were the last people in the restaurant. It was a good dining experience and would eat here again if in the area.
while on vacation last week in Daytona my husband and I went here twice! They know how to do the whole GF thing. However, I did get the same salad each time I went because it was huge and was so good. I am bummed that each time we went I was either A. so full or B. we didn't have time to get the skillet cookie thing they had. The menu was CLEARLY labeled GF and they even have a separate GF menu if you ask for it. I was happy and surprised to see that on the specials card that was sitting on the table talked about how they are trying to make more GF options and even had a special GF cocktail! I will 100% be going back here the next time I am in Daytona.
The gluten free pizza was awesome, and my husband, who is not gluten free loved it too! Always a plus.
I eat there all the time and never had a reaction. They will even wrap the burgers in lettuce and have a dedicated fryer for french fries.
Definitely gluten friendly, and the waitress was great. Gave three stars b/c the pizza wasn't very good, and kind of expensive for the quality. The gf pazooki was great though!
Fantastic! The gluten free menu had many choices. I had the broccoli cheese soup, the portobello mushroom and asparagus salad, and the GF chocolate Chip Kazookie, and everything was excellent! The staff was friendly and the restaurant was beautiful. The prices were good too.
Awesome place to eat. Great staff and wonderful atmosphere. A nice selections of gluten-free items including a dessert and a cider.
I have celiac disease. Everything that is made for me was made in a separate area with separate dishes and utensils. The server ,Ted was very knowledgeable . I had the pizza and pizookie. Everything was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant .
Consistently great food. I especially love the pizza! I eat there often and never have I had any issues and never sick! They know how to take care of gluten intolorance! Yeah!!!
Kayla was outstanding! Explaining how they keep everything separate in the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. Pizza was amazing & cookie pizookie was delicious! Even my husband who is not GF loved it! It a must eat place for is next time we are in the area!
Beer and pizza GF yum excellent meal. Will eat here more often
delicious food! my boyfriend (non-gf) and I shared the gf pizookie dessert at the end of our meals and he even thought it was amazing. definitely would go back if I'm in the area again.
Did not get sick! The kitchen mgr explained to me how they cleaned, prepped and sanitized they gf area. That they take it very seriously. I ordered the gf Santa Fe salad with chicken and shrimp. I had vinegar and olive oil as my dressing. My waiter even talked of avoiding cross contamination! I have celiac and am very sensitive.
I was in heaven. Having been so careful of maintaining a gluten free diet I was afraid to dine out...but I will be back at BJ's many times. THANK YOU!!!!
I was very disappointed, there were very few GF selections available. Their GF menu consisted of nothing more than a spreadsheet listing allergies and what items contained the allergen. Not many selections for children either. I had the pizza, The crust was good but I did not care for their tomato sauce, but then again, you'll have that. Beemer Bob
Best GF pizza I've ever had! The restaurant offers a whole menu that addresses multiple food allergies and the staff was highly knowledgeable. We were told that there is a separate cooking area for all the GF foods and that they are stored above any other types of foods that could be an issue for someone with allergies.
Need to work on the G-free pizza. Yuck. Chewy crust, not a good flavor.Won't get again.
My wife (hashimototos) becomes very frustrated with limited gf menus. We were pleasantly surprised at the options available to her. We've eaten there twice without her having any ill effects. Nice atmosphere, great service, and excellent food. It's our new go-to restaurant.
Ordered the BJ’s brewhouse burger. Asked for a GF bun and the patty to be cooked on a clean surface that has not touched gluten before. The waitress knew I couldn’t have the fries since they don’t have a dedicated fryer. Ended up testing both the patty and the bun with Nima at the same time and tested positive for gluten. When I told the waitress about the fact that I can’t eat it since it tested « gluten found », she asked me if I wanted anything else, but I didn’t feel confortable ordering anything else at that point. They took the burger off the check.
They have a gluten-free menu, plus allergen info for all food items. (hooray!) I ordered a salad with customizations for my diet. It came out wrong, but they fixed it. The manager came over, apologized, and didn't charge for the salad. Will definitely go here again
Separate GF menu, my 12 year old had the GF pizza, all but two toppings were GF so she loaded it up. Reasonable choice but the best part was the dessert, GF choc chip cookie with ice cream. We had to sit at quite a small high table which wasn't ideal with two kids. Otherwise a reasonably priced good meal with no ill effects!!
I was traveling to NC and stayed in Fredericksburg on my way there and on my way home. I went to BJ's Brewhouse both times. I ordered the GF pizza on both occasions. It was really good!! I did not get sick. The waiter told me they prepare it in a separate area with separate utensils. I also had the GF free chocolate chip cookie desert with ice cream and it was delicious!! The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I wish we had this place near me I'd eat there all the time! Thanks
Ate here with my wife, who needs to be GF, and had great pepperoni pizza with a fresh baked chocolate chip topped with ice cream. Get the "Sweet Baby Jesus" stout, too. Great service/atmosphere.
Went for lunch and told by the hostess to ask my server for a gluten free menu. Another hostess came back and said "sorry we don't have any. My manager said to use your phone and look on line". I was very disappointed that the manager never came over to address the situation and/or offer any gluten free options. I guess it was not important to them, I will never go back.
We have been to a BJs before in CA and really liked it so my celiac daughter was excited when we saw this one was near our hotel. Their gf options were very limited here. When I questioned why their online menu had more gf I items she said it must be because of their suppliers that they have less choices at this site. I also asked the waitress to check to make sure the pizza crust and the cookie didn't contain oats because my daughter gets sick with even gf oats. The waitress said no one knew in the kitchen. So I asked for the manager and she actually went into the freezer and got the ingredient list. We also had to wait 30 minutes for the gf cookie. My husband finally went and got the manager to check on it. The manager is the only reason I gave this place more stars. They literally only had about 5 gf items: one salad, one soup, 1 chicken entree, 1 pizza, and 1 dessert. Very different from their online menu.
Went here on vacation because never had issues at my local one. Ordered off gf menu and got steak, baked potato with nothing in it, and steamed veggies. Got sick bad 2 hours later. I ate at dinner rush which may have played a role in the failure of protocol.
I used to love this place. We'd been coming here for the past couple of years and I'd never had an issue until just the other day when I ordered my usual GF pepperoni pizza and a chocolate chip pizookie for dessert - (Keep in mind they don't have a dedicated area for prepping gluten free food, so I should've been more careful) - I'm not sure which item was the culprit -- I'm guessing the pizza, but it hit me hard within a few hours. I'm hoping it was just a one-time thing because their GF food is delicious, but I will definitely be more cautious in the future.
Ordered a salad and was told the manager would personally make my food. Unfortunately, I used my Nima tester- and the salad was not gluten free.
Best gluten free pizza ever and no egg in the crust either! Good cocktails and atmosphere. I will definitely be back!
They had a number of GF options. I had a quinua, rice, shrimp thing that was very good. A little bland. I wish I had gotten the pizza. There was no GF beer. The had some crazy sweet cider thing, but I don't count that as beer. I was excited because this listing said it had GF beer.
Regular menu clearly lists GF items. One page GF menu available on request. I had "fire roasted barbacoa chicken" entree. Great! Have GF bun for burgers. Have GF pizza. Had 2 GF beers available. Service was excellent!
Had an excellent experience. They had a separate gluten free menu with some good options including an excellent gluten free pizza and dessert options. Had the pizza and the kale and Brussel sprouts salad, both of which were yummy. The waiter was helpful and knowledge about the food and assisted in my questions regarding gluten free alcohol options. Did not get sick. High scores!
This was hands down the best pizza I've eaten since dx'd with Celiac Disease. The server was knowledgeable of the importance of cc when I told her I had CD, and she let me know that she visited with the chef as well and they would be taking extra steps to ensure my meal was safe. I even had the cookie/ice cream for desert which was also wonderful. Love BJ's Brewhouse!!!
GF menu items are labeled. However, we ordered the GF dessert and they brought out the wrong one, but corrected it when we asked to verify if it was indeed GF. The mistake could have resulted in a bad ending and the waiter was very apologetic. Went back on a different night and manager personally came out to verify if a dish was GF. She was very concerned and interested to make sure that the dish was safe (pork chop).
In general the chain is pretty consistent. You have to ask for their GF/Allergen list menu. If you are more Paleo a great option is the quinoa bowl BUT they have added rice to it recently BUT you can request quinoa only and they will oblige. Just emphasize no rice. Some servers are clueless now as to what gluten, dairy and grains are. So be explicit. I wonder if they are no longer training per the requirements of the Gluten Intolerance Group.
