They picked the croutons off my salad and gave it back... :(
The assistant manager was our waiter and was great. He knew the detail to every food option. They bake their fries if you need them GF so they don't share fryer!!! Both husband and daughter are celiac and my husband is super sensitive. Neither got sick and we will return again!
The previous reviews said it was great. Idk if we got a not great waitress or what. The food was good but they had a mix up on my gluten/dairy order. It was corrected but it took a little time.
They were very helpful in telling me what had gluten and dairy and how I could avoid those allergens on their menu.
They were very accommodating about GF. As others explained the manager came to your table to confirm your GF choices. But the food was very mediocre. My chicken breast was a flash- frozen, thin piece of meat, and warmed up in the same sauce my husbands salmon came with. Boring mashed potatoes and a forgettable veggie. All in all - great GF attention but blah food.
Visited here after reading great GF reviews. The chef came to our table to take my order and after I told him I had celiac and a couple other allergies (sesame, mushroom, shellfish and cranberry) he offered steam Veggies or a salad. I'm thinking this has more to do with a lazy chef (he didn't seem happy about being there) than the restaurant. Too bad a bad employee can ruin a good reputation.
Manager came to table to go over options. I had the smoked chicken & spinach salad. No croutons, subbed the dressing to something with maple in it ?? Tasty.
We ate here on vacation in May 2016, I had a hamburger which I told the manager that I was gluten and soy free. The hamburger tasted like it had some kind of seasoning on it, I figured it would be fine, since they knew I could not have any gluten. I was feeling very bad a few hours later and broke out in a celiac rash. Just a warning make sure they don't add seasoning, it could contain gluten. Patrick
As a celiac, I have dined here twice and feel very safe. The staff is knowledgeable and the manager comes to your table to explain the several GF options. I had the Rosemary Grilled Chicken and the Pot Roast and both were delicious. I recommend this place.
When I asked for the gluten free menu, the manager came out to provide personal assistance. He knew the menu and the recipes. He also understood Celiac vs. intolerance. Everything was wonderful: the attitude, the service, and the food. I enjoyed the Seared Ahi Salad which was delicious and perfectly cooked.
Service was excellent, the staff were friendly and the food was good. My food allergies kids enjoyed both the food and the experience and had no negative reactions. Overall a success for us!
Very knowledgeable and the food was great. Didn't have gf bread or buns.
awesome place for people who have to eat gluten free
Yes! This restaurant has nailed gluten free service!! Enjoyable atmosphere, excelling in service, and pretty good food!! The manager went over the menu and most of the menu was an option. They even would bake their wings for an appetizer, and bake fries as a side ... Something's not many other places offer. The staff was attentive to be sure the chef not only covered gluten free but made adaptations look and taste appealing. We so enjoyed it we are going back before leaving town and will visit anytime we are in Branson and need to dine out. Super appreciate the comfort level of safety here and an enjoyable meal out!!
While finding this restaurant with GPS as a guide was problematic, the food was worth the challenge. There isnt a GF menu but the waitress asked the manager to come to our table. He was knowledgeable about both gluten intolerance and celiac and I felt confident he would make sure my food was prepared correctly. I ordered the salad with battered chicken but asked for it to be grilled. He substituted bleu cheese with goat cheese and eliminated the croutons. It was tasty and very filling--actually more than I could eat. There were many options on the menu that could be made GF. We will definitely eat here again.
We ate dinner here last night. My 11 yo daughter has Celiac disease, I'm gluten intolerant and my husband eats gluten free since we do at home. We had read many reviews so we were excited to eat here. The waiter told us he would get the manager. She suggested we could have any salad without croutons, one appetizer wing option, one steak option, baby back ribs, salmon, pot roast or Rosemary chicken. My daughter chose the pot roast, I had the salmon and my husband had the steak. Everything was delicious. My daughter felt very comfortable with how confident the manager was. Neither my daughter or myself got sick. And if there would have been any single tiny cross contamination issue she would have been vomiting within 15 minutes of eating she is super sensitive. We will be back! Just speak to a manager to go over your options.
Very nice and knowledgeable about gf and df. Worked with me and fixed things for me specifically so I could eat, including baking my fries and fixing my zucchini in Olive oil. It was enjoyable.
wow! what a great staff and understanding about gf and other food allergies! food is made to order, manager came out and took order!
We absolutely LOVE this restaurant! Its the 3rd time we've eaten at it since we discovered it back in April 2015. There are many options that are gluten free. If you just ask to speak to a manager they will personally come over and go over all the options with you. They are aware of cross contamination and will tell you any substitutes you can make so that you can safely eat your meal. I highly recommend the rosemary grilled chicken and the pot roast, just ask for no gravy on both. My son had the honey bbq wings and loved them, they will bake them for you along with fries so that its gluten free. I could go on and on about how much we appreciate this option on our Branson vacations. In addition the prices are VERY affordable.
We rarely eat out because of my gluten issues. But, we've just moved to the area and have eaten here three times in the past few months. I have been thoroughly impressed with the staff and food here. Asking about gluten free options gets immediate attention by the manager who knows the difference between gluten avoidance, intolerance, and celiac. When I say, "celiac," stricter options are given--such as having fries baked instead fried in a shared fryer. This is a gem! Highly recommended it!
Being celiac, i am usually skeptical when eating out, however when the dining room manager and the kitchen manager both visit the table and get that it is not a choice, i was able to enjoy a very nice meal. will certainly be back.
Wonderful food. Staff is very knowledgeable on gluten sensitivity and understand cross-contamination. The manager, Jolene, was extremely helpful.
The manager was amazing. When my husband was talking to the manager on the phone, my ears perked up the second she started talking about how she avoids cross contamination, something we had not asked about yet. We were not disappointed by the options or the amazing flavors. Try this place, mention you need gluten free.
Excellent food! Manager was very helpful! They had a separate menu and were able to talk me through my various allergies. I had the steak with a side of broccoli and it was amazing! I'm on AIP Paleo so can't eat much. There were many steak, hamburger, fish, and chicken options. Much more if you aren't as restrictive as me.
Took my boys to eat here & we all enjoyed it. Manager was knowledgeable & accommodating. My son & I had the baby back ribs & fries & my other son had the pulled pork & fries. Would definitely eat hear again. They had GF wings that sounded really good. I will try them the next time I go back!
My wife and I went to Branson on vacation a few weeks ago. Because of the reviews on this app, we went to the Black Oak Grill and had a wonderful time. Casey, the manager, was VERY knowledgable and his staff was very well trained. He has studied nutrition and was able to recommend current dishes and also was able to make custom orders for us. I felt safe there, and I rarely say that about anywhere. I felt safe enough to eat there both nights we were there. Definitely celiac friendly!!
General Manager, Casey, was very helpful and knowledgable. Said he actually went to school to be a dietician so he understands Celiac and autoimmune diseases. I had a list of foods a mile long that I can't eat and he helped me navigate the menu. Ended up with the petite sirloin, zucchini and broccoli. By far the best meal I've had in Branson! Would highly recommend!
Fantastic! They don't have a separate GF menu, but they do have many GF choices. The manager came to our table & explained the many menu choices. I chose the grilled salmon with grilled zucchini & rice. Very good. I will be back.
Manager was great going over the menu. He was obviously VERY knowledgable about gluten free issues and cross contamination issues. He explained how they could modify and accommodate most anything on the menu. To top it off the food was excellent!
Wonderful restaurant manager came out to let me know the GF options. I had the ribs which were great!
Great food and staff. Very helpful in making sure my meal was gluten free. Casey was great. Found a restaurant that serves gluten free pizza along with telling me about this app.
Manager was very accommodating and explained everything in the menu. I had the grilled salmon and it was excellent. Drink special called Black Oak Punch was very tasty! Will be back again!
I got tomato soup and a burger with no bum and baked fries. The fries were fairy bland but the burger was good. I did not get sick and it was a good meal.
This was a little disappointing. We have Celiac and the only things the manager said we could eat were the standard broiled chicken/broccoli/mashed potatoes dinner, and a salad. The chicken was very dried out. My salad was ok but nothing great. The lakeside view was nice but I wasn't impressed with their gluten free options.
After reading the views on this site, I decided to give it a try. Just as others have reported, when the hostess was made aware that I had celiac, she sent for the manager. He was very aware of the procedures that are necessary for a gf meal. I had several choices and chose the burger and fries. No bun, but excellent food. My fries were baked to avoid the fryer, Before we left, he returned to make sure my meal was fine. I will definitely return!
My husband and I went this last weekend to Branson Landing. I found the Black Oak Grill by using this app. Like the other reviews I too was told that the manager would come to our table to go over the menu for gluten free items. We were pleasantly greeted by the manager ( I'm sorry to say I can't remember his name but we liked him ;) anyways, he gladly told me what was available and was very knowledgeable about gluten intolerance. I chose a healthy salad with the "house dressing" ( omgoodness it was good! ) and the tomato basil soup which I totally loved! The atmosphere is very nice. We especially loved the antique American flag. It's a must see. As we were leaving the manager came and shook our hands and visited with us some more. We really enjoyed our time here. It will be on our list to come back again. We loved it ;)
So attentive! The hostess sent the manager over to speak with us about our needs immediately and she continuously came back to check on us. The food was delicious and was well priced. Great experience and I would go back, which is a huge improvement over the other places we encountered on our trip.
ask to speak wth manager. love hamburger with no bun. they will bake fries for you. Very accommodating.
