Nov 23rd 2019, edited my review because i got seriously sick here. The new place isn't the same as the old place! *** Great place! I have celiac disease, and I thought they did a great job catering to me. I'm dairy free and gluten free... and ate paleo. Very good! When my food came out, it had a sticker of "this dish was made with your allergies in mind". I thought that was awesome! I will be back.

We are a GF family and all left happy. I had the Paleo veggie pizza. My husband had some sort of hamburger quesadilla and the kids had grilled cheese and french fries. Everything was great and our server was very knowledgeable. We were told that on top of dedicated fryers that their knives and cutting boards are all color coded to avoid cross contamination.

Blackie’s is one of FAVORITE restaurants in the entire world. Their gluten free/paleo menu is pages long. They even make a point to ask if you need any gf menus before seating your party. The food is all sourced from local farms and bakeries. I’ve never once had anything from here that I 1. Didn’t like 2. Made me feel sick. If you’re ever in Rhode Island make SURE you come here, you and whoever else you’re with (gluten free or not) will not be disappointed.

So many amazing options! Destination restaurant for celiacs! Fried calamari is amazing. They have an extensive gf menu with lots of fried things that you can rarely find gf anywhere. Excellent gf desserts too. Always mixing up the menu with fresh options. They even mark each plate with an allergy sticker when it is prepared gf. Food takes a vey long time to come out—never just a quick bite, but always worth the wait.

Wow! Amazing gluten free options. Honestly the most extensive gluten free offerings we have seen and have been gluten free for 15 years. Fresh and delicious. They also have paleo and cater to many allergies. We had: The Baffoni’s trip to Vietnam (wings) Fried Calamari Schwarma Style Steak tips Rueben Sweet Potato fries Avocado and tomato salad Paleo chocolate cookie Cookie monster Sunday Key lime pie Every single thing was excellent. Our waitress, Kathy was excellent. Great service with the perfect level of attention and timing. We plan to come here whenever we are in or near town.

This is one of the most amazing restaurants I have ever been too. Not only are the gluten free options incredible the menu is exceptional. This restaurant has appetizers and entrees that are gluten free that are amazing. The food costs more because everything is homemade and sourced local and organic when possible. Worth every penny. The food take longer to arrive because it is home made and totally worth the wait. They have homemade gluten free chicken fingers my kids love as well as pizza and burgers. The menu is extensive with an entire paleo section that will leave you drooling. This restaurant never disappoints. It is always busy because it is so good. Brunch on Sunday's is fantastic as well. Bar has a great selection and excellent drinks and selection. We love it here❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Large gluten free menu. My celiac son usually gets sick immediately if he eats gluten. He never had a problem they label everything and bring out the gluten free food separately. He only eats meat and veggies in full disclosure.

Had a huge gluten free menu, staff was so well educated on gluten free diets. Best burger I’ve had in YEARS and the sweet potato fries and wings were so amazing. Wings were crispy on the outside which I thought I had to give up! Have only been able to have chargrilled wings since going gluten free. I’ll be going back here over and over again :)

There is a large separate paleo menu. The gf veggie burger on a gf bun had a large option of toppings. I was impressed with the whole menu. From a celiac standpoint I’m not sure about cross contamination as I didn’t ask. Prices on Paleo menu was higher but it was okay with me.

Fantastic!!! If you are gluten free or paleo, the food is delicious!!!! Separate menu. They use separate dryers, etc., but can't guarantee cross contamination. Paleo friendly! Be prepared to wait, though it's worth it!! And they use compostable take home boxes. Love it!

Menu has many options, separate gluten free/paleo menu. Portions are huge! A little pricey, but I have half my entree leftover to bring home that will work as another meal for me. And food tasted great. They have two desserts- I personally would recommend the cookie over the tart (which was more like a gelatin dessert). Plus the plates come out marked that they were prepared for an allergy. Service was great. Delicious!

When you have Celiac, you overlook negatives about a restaurant that would ordinarily make you hesitant to return. As others have stated, Blackie's is expensive. The classic cheeseburger was $15. And though it came with homemade chips, fries were $3 extra. While the staff was friendly and pleasant, we had overall poor service. BUT, we will return. GF food comes with a little sticker on the plate noting that it's an allergy. And that $15 cheeseburger? It was really, really good! It's served on Udi's toast and because it is a diner-type burger it really was best served on toast, so I didn't miss a bun. Dedicated fryer meant I could eat those $3 fries! So, next time I'm craving a proper burger and fries, we'll be off to Blackie's.

Been here a ton of times, food is good but way overpriced. Atmosphere is eh, all the tv's on news when sports are on other channels is annoying. Who wants to watch the news while eating? Definitely a pub and not family friendly, ladies room is in the bar with no changing table. A waitress had some weird comments about my 3 yr old son being with us too and he was a perfect patron, so that was uncomfortable. Servers are always amateur at best.

Ah-Mazing! Fabulous GF options, not the usual half a page, but three entire pages of Delicious GF choices. Yes, THREE pages of gluten free! I got Cod loin with broccolini and Kale with cranberries off the paleo section, which was health and yummy. My husband got gluten free buffalo grilled cheese, which was unbelievable. I know it was unbelievable because I ate a good deal of it as well. We were told there was an hour wait for our party of 6, so we waited in the lounge upstairs, which was very cool. However our wait was not that long, probably a half hour. It was Very busy there, even at 5pm on a Friday, and got busier the longer into our visit, but WELL worth the wait. Food is freshly prepared with amazing attention to detail and there is something on the menu for everyone, from super healthy paleo, to the best gluten free options I've seen, to super decedent, yummy sauce lathered burgers.
