Blanco Tacos + Tequila

I am so amazed at the service we received here. We were in Houston celebrating our anniversary and the staff went above and beyond for us. They originally offered us free drinks, but we don’t drink and they had no celiac safe desserts, so the manager went to Cheesecake Factory and got me a free fudge cheesecake. Any time I can eat the chips and salsa at a restaurant I’m excited. So from the get go, I was happy. My husband at non gluten free and loved his meal. I had the grilled Mahi, the bbq pork, and the carne asada. The bbq pork taco was by far my favorite! I had no symptoms after and will def be back!

I chose the restaurant because of the reviews. I went with coworkers for lunch.

I unfortunately didn’t have the same experience. I was told that everything was gluten free except the obvious choices (burritos, flour tortillas)

I tested with my Nima gluten tester the chips and salsa - which apparently they did have a dedicated fryer for chips. Those were safe

The braised chicken bowl came back positive for gluten. I didn’t feel the sense that they knew how to prepare things properly so I didn’t ask them to remake the food. I say this because when the manager came to talk to me he insisted that the bowl’s ingredients were gluten free. I told him I understand the ingredients are “gluten free” but it wasn’t - I only wanted him to be aware that it was for future references when selling things as gluten free when in fact they weren’t.

I was excited to try the restaurant, I don’t think I would go back just because of the whole feeling

Nima came back with a smile for the nachos with chili chicken. I felt totally fine of course after eating them and they were delicious. There is a dedicated fryer for the chips.

I had the green pork bowl with a side of tortillas on the side. Chips are also GF in dedicated frier. They are great and did not react to anything!

Super yummy! They make their own corn tortillas and they are delicious. Had the pork carnitas and were super flavorful.

Called ahead and asked about gluten and dairy free. They were super knowledgeable and assured me that they have a gluten free fryer and prep area and the waiter was very conscientious and offered a side without dairy (the rice has cream in it) - definitely knew his stuff and didn’t seem at all phased. He also confirmed the gluten and dairy free when putting the plate in front of me which is wonderful! I hate always having to ask to confirm!
