They USED to have amazing gluten free fresh crust. They have since changed to gf Keto and Cauliflower crust options at double the price. This is a huge failure to the gluten free community as it's now expensive and mediocre.
Good cauliflower crust. With coaching, the staff took good precautions, but there's a small risk of contamination. I had the cauliflower simple pie and did not get sick.
This is a gluten free friendly place but not Celiac friendly. There is cross contamination since they put it in the same oven as the other pizzas and I believe the dough is made in the same place with other regular dough
Like Blaze pizza. Liked it more with GF homemade crust instead of premade cauliflower and keto. They change gloves if allergy. A lot has changed in prep since changing dough and the pizza crust cooks faster than toppings so leave a subpar pizza. However not once have I gotten sick from here! You do have to monitor and it depends on who is working.
They use the same press for dough as their regular pizzas. One time I had symptoms of gluten, one time I did not. Ingredients are often cross contaminated. I'd not eat here if I were celiac.
I ordered a gluten free crust there and one worker changed their gloves and did my pizza. Everyone else got out of her way and made sure not to touch mine.
This is the second time I've gotten sick from eating here. They made major changes to the crusts and really don't understand the severity of Celiac disease. The level of cross-contaminaton has gotten worse, which is especially disappointing after the many times they provided great care with my food. I wish I didn't have to write this review.
If you are highly sensitive to gluten I would recommend avoiding this location. When you order, you are asked if you are ordering gluten-free due to an allergy or due to lifestyle. Unfortunately, this gives the impression that if you have an allergy they can accommodate. But after alerting employees to my son’s allergy (celiac), and after watching the entire process they used for making the pizza, I had to ask for a refund. There are multiple points for potential cross contamination. First, in making the crust, they use the same press for the dough that is used for the wheat dough crust. Initially the employee used a damp paper towel to wipe off the bottom half of the press, as if a little “wipe” down would suffice. When I asked about the top half of press I received a blank stare, then the realization that there were two points of contact set in and they started wiping off the top. The second point of cross contamination is in the toppings. They did have a segregated reservoir of sauce just for GF pizzas, but I had to stop them from accidentally using the regular sauce. The rest of the toppings were used commonly across all pizzas. Ahead of us I watched an employee make a regular pizza, lightly dipping their fingertips into the sauce she had already smeared on the pizza as she spread cheese around. She then reached in to grab more cheese, visibly leaving sauce on the remaining cheese. The employee making my son’s pizza then grabbed the cheese with the sauce on it. I had to ask that they grab some different cheese to avoid the potential contamination. I could not tell how safe the other toppings might have been. The third point of potential contamination is in the pizza oven. They placed the pizza on a special mat and cooked it along with the other pizzas. But with all the turning and sliding around the base of the oven, there is a lot of room for error. Finally, when they tried to remove my son’s pizza from the oven, it partially slid off the mat, sliding along the oven surface. When I pointed it out, the employee shrugged and started to plate it for cutting. That’s when I asked for the refund. The fourth and last point of potential contamination that never got a chance to come into play, is from the cutting wheel. They do have dedicated GF wheels, but I watched as an employee set it on a contaminated surface. When I pointed it out, they said, “oh,” picked it up, and placed it back in the GF cutting bin that was off to the side. Grrrrr. I’m sure the proprietor has the best intentions offering gluten free options, but execution is poor and I advise anyone with an allergy to keep a close eye on what is going on. This lack of quality control is really a shame, because I am not GF and the standard pizza I ordered was fantastic. I ended up taking my son to another establishment, however.
Would give this location zero stars. Extremely unsanitary, major cross contamination (usually I don't follow so strictly but this made me feel not so safe) I ended up getting sick, the ingredients weren't fresh, the GF (al of the GF crust options ) are tasteless and super expensive to add (I don't mind adding $5 if the product actually tastes good, this did not) Would not recommended or go to again.
Staff are terrible with gluten free. I’ve had a reaction each and every time. THIS IS NOT BAD FOR BLAZE, JUST THIS LOCATION! SHERWOOD PARK LOCATION IS EXCELLENT FOR GLUTEN FREE!!!
They got rid of their actual gluten free crust and now just have the cauliflower crust as their gluten free option, so disappointed!
Fantastic experience! They had all ingredients separated in a completely isolated space for celiac. Put crust on own tray and changed gloves. So conscientious and understanding. AND IT’S DELICIOUS! Go here!!!
I’ve been here many times and never gotten sick. But watching them prepare the pizza there is a huge chance for cross contamination. Also they got rid of their gluten free crust and switched to a cauliflower crust. It’s decent pizza, but not worth the risk for contamination in my opinion. There are better pizza places out there that are better for celiacs.
My pizza was mishandled/contaminated ,gloves were not changed and then said he did everything right. I have Celiacs and had eaten there before but thankfully watched before getting sick so I must say NOT CELIAC FRIENDLY. Gave it a second chance 04/18. Employee looked upset at dealing with CD. He seemed to go out of way to contaminate it. He was Happy when I canceled order. He had a horrible attitude. Might be good pizza but they don’t try to accommodate CD. They seemed to start trying but today they reaffirmed they are NOT GLUTEN FREE!!07/13/2019. Personally watched them cross contaminate. It’s their place. If that was the manager, he sure just doesn’t care
Admin please remove this listing. BLAZE has officially ended any and all GF serving Nationwide. They have discontinued their GF crust, and their stores will offer customers "gluten friendly" cauliflower crusts, which their corporate office has confirmed is NOT gluten free in any way shape or form, it just "has less gluten" (see their Twitter) additionally they also have discontinued allowing customers to request a glove change for other allergen cross contamination. Blaze is over.
Literally just left there - ordered the Gf pizza option, watched them use the same press they used for all Other pizzas, toppings were cross contaminated, cut with the same pizza cutter as all others. Needless to say, left there hungry, no pizza and ended up at Wholefoods 😑
Staff is rude and does not want to help when it comes to Celiac Disease. Every time we have gone into Blaze we have been met with irritation about my wife’s disease. It’s as if they feel that it is her choice to live this way. Consistently a let down and we no longer chose to dine here.
The staff was not knowledgeable. They almost gave me the wrong crust, thankfully one of them caught that they weren’t using the GF crust. The place was a mess , no following instructions. And they definitely got me sick. Maybe it was this location but I will not be testing another as they definitely got me sick
Very good GF pizza.....the employees didn't pay much attention to what was going on and they were throwing food at each other, I'm shocked I didn't get sick....but somehow, by the grace of something ....I didn't. They were very friendly, just goofy.
While they do make an effort, the staff clearly needs to be better trained in cross contamination and what gluten FREE truly means. The staff knew to change their gloves but did so after touching and writing on the paper for the pizza with prior used gloves for gluten crust. I asked them to change gloves and redo. The manager stepped in and seemed to know what to do, with no rolling of the eyes or complaint. He was good about keeping things separate, changing gloves, and washing hands. At the end of the line they have a dedicated cutter and tongs for gluten free. The two places they missed: 1. They cut the pizza next to a gluten pizza and it pushed into the edge of the gluten pizza; 2. They used the same spoon to spread the red sauce on the crust as they do for all the pizzas. If you eat here, I suggest you ask for the manager to make your pizza and request fresh sauce from the cups under the counter in their fridge. The manager seems to know what he is doing but the rest of the staff doesn't, which means this is likely not safe if you have celiac.

absolutely unsafe, i showed up under the impression that it was celiac safe but that was far from true. There was a glove change but the staff was unaware of cross contamination and used the same gloves when it got to the oven, put it in with all of the regular pizza, then used the same spatula. They are extremely ignorant to what it means to have celiac disease. If you have celiac disease please do NOT come here. it may be different at other locations.
Gluten free crust. They switched out the sauces/spoons etc. They have an allergen list behind the counter, just ask if you have any concerns! This is a shared kitchen so contamination is possible. This celiac did not get sick though! The white specialty pizza was delicious!
Dedicated GF dough press with utensils and sauce! So far it’s best GF pizza we could find! Thin and taste amazing! They’re all trained for GF and take all precautions.
Stopped in tonight to get my favorite GF pizza. I was told that as of 6/1/19 - Blaze is no longer offering or making GF crusts. There’s supposed to be a cauliflower (yuck!) one coming but as of now, Blaze does not offer any GF options. I will be writing to corporate.
HORRIBLE experience. I've had good service at other Blaze locations, but this one is absolutely pathetic. The kid cleaning the dough press actually left flour on the surface and went to put the GF dough on it before I stopped him because I could see the flour all over it! They also put the GF silicone mats in the bin of the flour they use to dust the regular crusts! Then, the person operating the oven used the same long tool to move all of the pizzas around and used the blade of it to repeatedly touch the tops of each one. He did not do a glove change and kept touching each pizza and each paper (that the pizzas are places on) with the same gloves. I saw that he got crumbs and cheese on my order paper before my pizza was ready and he seemed confused when I pointed out that it was unacceptable. STAY AWAY.
Staff (manager) changed gloves, use dedicated utensils and took sauce from separate containers. Toppings GF except meatballs. Crust was the weak point, so list a star. Didn’t get sick and toppings delicious.
This location is not safe for Celiacs. They offer GF crust but will place it on a board loaded with flour dust, even when you mention it’s an allergy and request a glove change. They will make your pizza with fresh ingredients but it’s pointless because of using a non safe board. Other locations do a better job of avoiding cross contamination.
Grandson wanted pizza after a quick stop at Earth Fare and I thought I would not be able join in . Pleasantly surprised they had a gluten free option, staff then asked if this was a glove change , I stated yes as I am celiac. They had a separate space for dough prep and a mat to place GF pizza on in oven. I had no reaction after dining and will return for sure. Just happy to know there are options for us who Gluten Free is not a lifestyle choice but a necessity, as it is hard when you sense at restaurants that they have an attitude less than serious about GF as related to Celiac due to the trendy GF , Vegan lifestyle of some.
Holy Pizza!!! I love this place. The person helping me knew exactly what to do when I said celiac. The gloves came flying off, brand new ones put on and we were off. The crust was the best I’ve had yet. Fresh ingredients for toppings. They had a chart out to share with me what toppings I could have. I was so excited the sausage was GF! I had a red sauce, sausage, mushroom, and roasted garlic pizza and it was amazing. I can’t wait to come back.

Make sure you watch them make your pizza if you are ordering GF. I ordered online and left with the pizza. They had made a gluten pizza even though the receipt that came with the box said gluten free. Big mistake!

Pizzas are not prepared in a separate area. Same toppings are used after they've already handled regular crusts. The risk of cross-contamination was too high. Had to walk away.
They did have the gf dough in a seperate container and used a special dough press. It was actually put on a special piece of cardboard and everyone changed their gloves. The only cross contamination risk was the ingredients themselves but I felt fine afterwards.
