Make sure you ask for the dollop sauce bucket. They slide the ladle all over the regular pizza with the regular sauce bucket. Just okay for GF pizza. They used to have GF beer. They no longer have it.
1 star is only for the fact that they are not gluten free if you have medical gluten issues. Per their menu " *We work with wheat based dough and share equipment with our gluten-free dough. Some cross contact may occur." If you go watch them prep pizzas, you will see this in action.
Awesome!! Absolutely love it!
Blaze does a great job accommodating to gf needs. They do not have a dedicated prep area, but they do have specific mats, cutters, etc for gluten allergies. I would still be cautious with celiacs but know two people with celiacs who can eat there and are yet to have issues. One of the best gluten free pizzas I've had so far!
amazing place and gluten friendly
This a definite go-to restaurant for me. If you specify a gluten allergy, they will put on clean gloves and send that one person through the line with you. I have noticed that they sometime spread sauce with the same ladle as they use for wheat crust, but it doesn't seem to cross contaminate anything. I am VERY sensitive and I eat here all the time with no issues.
Had the oil drizzle with bacon, mushrooms and cheese. Also arugula salad. The young woman who served us was very careful and the service was fast. No reactions to the tasty pizza!
Blaze Pizza has an allergen list and gluten-free pizza crust. All of the toppings are gluten-free except for the meatballs. Blaze Pizza does a great job about changing gloves. The pizza is kept on a red mat indicating gluten free so it never touches the same surface as flour. The pizza cutters are also specifically only used on gluten free pizzas. Great service - everyone took extra precaution to ensure my meal was safe of cross-contamination. Reasonably priced pizza too.
Offer GF crust, with several disclaimers. Talked to them and they said they do their best with xcontamination (note gluten allergy & they will take extra precautions). GF crust is thin and crispy, just ok in my book but toppings were great so not too bad overall. Good value, service and nice vibe (staff was really cool). Nice to have options for quick fire pizza!
Excellent pizza. They will have the food handler change gloves before preparing you food. I'm also soy free and they were very accommodating. Located in Disney springs. I'll certainly eat there again.
Great pizza! Gluten free crust, vegan cheese options. They make it in front of you (think Subway) and wood fire cook it. Will do glove changes if you ask. They cook gluten free on a mat, on the same wood fire oven.
I was very impressed by their gluten free thoroughness. I had to wait a while for them to get a GF crust out, but when they did, the guy changed his gloves before touching it and then stayed with my pizza all the way to the oven. (Their usual method is to have an assembly line where 3 people prep your pizza). I asked the final guy to not cut my pizza but he pointed out that they have a separate GF cutter. He too changed his gloves before touching the pizza. Very thorough! Unfortunately I found the pizza crust and overall flavor to be just so-so. I have had much better GF pizza in the Phoenix AZ area (where I currently live). Picazzos and NYPD have great GF pizza, so good that non GF people eat there.
Delicious Gluten free pizza with fresh ingredients. They're basically like the Chipotle of Pizza. Everything is transparent so you can see the conditions/cleanliness. I was very happy with the taste of my meal. As soon as you ask for Gluten free they offer to remove their gloves and are careful to avoid cross contamination.
I eat at Blaze a couple times a month. It's not gourmet pizza, but it's decent and you can put as much as you want of whatever toppings you want on your pie for the same reasonable price. But that's not what this site is about. Is this place safe for someone with celiac? In a word, no. It's not their fault, mind you -- it's the design of the restaurant. If you have celiac, don't eat here. The toppings are all cross contaminated, the shared workspace is contaminated, the oven and cutting area are contaminated. My wife and daughter have celiac; there's no way I'd let either of them eat at Blaze. Again, good pizza and a good deal, but definitely not safe for celiacs.
if have given up gluten by choice and it's not a food sensitivity or celiac disease then I guess you could eat a gluten-free pizza here but just know that they're baked in the same oven as regular pizza and parts per million when a pizza is heated and the dough is heated and it starts to dry out and crack particles go airborne and will land on top of any random Pizza so when you go through the line and you tell him you want a gluten-free pizza and they pull up gluten-free down on some kind of plastic rubber Troy that they're going to stick in the oven I'm sure that's not toxic eating off of heated plastic or rubber but then they make the gluten-free pizza in the same exact oven at the same time with the other pizzas wrong that's not gluten free. when you go through the line and you tell them you want gluten-free they ask you is that by choice or an hour I felt like saying f*** you.... I should have known simply by when I was asked that question that this restaurant does not gluten sensitivity or people who do not want gluten in their food whether it's parts per million or whatever it's cross-contamination they don't know what they're f****** doing this place is not gluten friendly this place is not gluten-freefriendly!!! this place is not Celiac. g free!!!free I guess before you can post you have to give them at least one star well if I could put a negative sign in front of all five stars they have five- stars
The pizza tastes great..but the 2 different times I have eaten there, (2 different locations), my husband and I both got sick to our stomachs. Such a shame, because they also offer vegan cheese. Not sure if it is something with the gf crust..or just heavy cross contamination while cooking :( .
I was impressed that the employees all changed their gloves for my order. They also have a gluten free pizza press, special identifying trays, and cutters. However, I gave it 3 stars for the high risk of cross contamination. Even with a glove change, they still have to reach into the same topping bins to get what you want. Also, the pizza dough wasn't completely cooked through.
They have a gluten free crust and ask if it's preference or allergy and do a glove change for allergy. They use a separate sauce ladle and put it on a rubber mat to cook, they also have a separate pizza cutter. They do a great job only negative would be for someone highly sensitive, even with a glove change they're still taking ingredients from the same bowls as those with regular gloves so there will inevitably be a small amount of cross contamination.
As long as you tell the staff that you have a Gluten Allergy you are totally okay! I used to eat pizza 1- 3 times a week before I found out I had Celiac, now this is the only pizza I eat for two reasons 1) Best GF pizza dough and most amazing crust out there. 2) They will be very careful about cross contamination if you alert them. I probably eat here at least once a week and have not gotten sick and I have high sensitivity.
Very impressed! Ask if you would like for them to switch their gloves, get sauce from a different bin and place crust on a mat so your pizza doesn't touch the grill with all the gluten on it, and make sure to use different tongs and pizza slicer. And delicious!!
If you have Celiac, make sure you tell them, and they'll change their gloves. You can also request that they use fresh toppings instead of the ones in the line, which may be contaminated. This location has been extremely accommodating, and I've never gotten sick.
Great pizza and atmosphere! Fast and fresh. Probably not ideal for celiacs as the press used to create crusts was merely wiped down with a paper towel before forming my crust. Staff was careful about changing gloves and using utensils dedicated to GF.
Separate sauce, changed gloves, took care to ensure no cross contamination while making the gluten free pizza. It tasted really good, too. They cook the pizza on a separate pad so it doesn't come in contact with the same oven base or item used to take it out of the oven.
I was very impressed. the girl taking order and making pizza asked if gluten free was preference or allergy. she announced allergy to the staff, then changed gloves. the dough was pressed in a separate unit, put on special tray that was used for cooking on in the common oven. the sauce was from a separate covered container. once cooked, they used a separate cutter to slice it. it was the best fresh pizza I had in a while, and was impressed with the steps they took.
Best gluten free pizza I've had, and I've tried a lot! Plenty of topping options, but there isn't a dedicated assembly or cooking area in my experience. They put the pizza on it's own cooking sheet and change their gloves, but the toppings they take from are also touched by gloves that have touched the regular pizza. You also have to watch them carefully because they are not careful about our pizza not touching other pizzas. It is not celiac friendly, but I have yet to get sick and eat here regularly.
Great experience. They used separate sauce, tools etc to make my pizza. They actually accidentally used a non Gf paddle to remove my pizza. They informed me, remade my pizza and gave me a voucher for a free pizza. I'd much rather wait longer for my food than get sick.
Delicious pizza - loved that they immediately offered to change gloves when I ordered GF crust. Plus they had a separate container for sauce for GF to avoid cross contamination with other sauce and utensils. They also got my toppings from containers under the counter to further avoid cross contamination. Great service!
Their pizza was delicious and I was pleased with the help we got bc they all changed their gloves and used separate pans!! They did say we cant promise anything but they tried their best but it is a precaution we have to take with any restaurant 😊❤️️💘
I was really impressed by how carefully they handled my order. They asked me if I needed a glove change and from there they got me all fresh ingredients! Not only did they have a gf crust, but their sauce is soy free, which I need, too. The only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because my crust was undercooked, but I would definitely go back again!
The set-up allows u to watch them make it which was great. Great tasting pizza!
The chain of communication failed at first. My kid has Celiac and would need extra precautions was lost after the first person. They had to remake the pizza, but they were happy to do so. Make sure to ask that they leave the GF crust on the tray for the oven and it not get placed on the cooling rack at the end. You will also have to be clear that a new slicer is needed. Otherwise the pizzas were really delicious (both GF and regular).
