Im sensitive to gluten and I've gone here a few times. As soon as you ask for gluten free they ask if its in alerget and make sure its marked and noted on the paper for the pizza. The people adding toppings change out their gloves and ask if new containers of ingredients are needed. This is one of the only pizza places I know I can safely go to.
I have had Blaze many times, and have had no issues. However, the last time I had a pizza, even though they changed gloves and were aware… I was glutened so bad that I spent the night in the hospital. I am not sure what happened but unfortunately I can no longer eat there because of it…
I don’t recommend blaze if you have severe celiac… some of the staff isn’t trained properly so it can make things a little complicated. I’ve gotten sick from here before, and also been told they only had the ingredients available on the line (which is highly contaminated), but was told on a separate occasion they could use all dress ingredients… I don’t recommend
Cauliflower crust (gluten free) is so good! My mother, daughter, and I prefer it to the other gluten free crust they offer. You must tell them it is an allergy order. They change their gloves and will put your pizza on a tray/mat, so that it does not touch the shared surfaces with the regular pizzas.
I was worried but 24 hours later and I feel great! The order taker set mine to the side and the general manager took it from there. They did glove change and pulled items from below. Manager explained how familiar she was with GF and would be handling my pizza. Super tasty and no signs of cross contamination.
This is a pizza "bar" type restaurant in which the pizzas are topped on the line and then cooked and brought to the table. The staff was not at all knowledgeable about GF beyond the fact that they had a GF crust. Could not answer questions such as which toppings were GF (particularly the meats which can frequently contain gluten). When we asked how they avoid cross contact with the toppings, the staff member did not understand what we were asking and explained their process for topping pizzas. When we looked over and observed the sauce ladle being used to smooth on the sauce for a regular pizza, we knew this was not the place for us.
They offered to switch gloves. The crust was thin but very good. Can pick any number of the toppings for one price. Not sure if they have separate spoons, I did not ask them to switch. The flavor was fantastic
Very knowledgeable staff on GF. They changed their gloves and used separate utensils for GF sauces and ingredients. The GF pizza was put on a designated pan to bake. The pizza was cooked perfectly and was delicious! I was very happy that they had a large variety of toppings to choose from as well. I just wish we had a Blaze Pizza back home so we can enjoy GF pizza more often!
Just went here the other day and they were super well versed on cross contamination. Got a new bucket of sauce and cheese specifically for my pizza and when putting it in the oven it was on a tray so it didn’t touch the bottom of the oven. Pizza is overall pretty good, definitely crispy but it’s safe and one of the better places to get gluten free in the area.
My daughter has celiacs. The pizza is really good here and they took extra efforts to keep her pizza separate and safer. They want to take care of you, you just need to ask . It’s more gluten friendly than most. She ordered the gf pizza - they have a silicone tray that they cook the pizza on. The toppings didn’t have a separate area, but the main ingredients did, they also will change out gloves upon request. Make sure you specify to use a clean cutter when ordering - if you don’t it won’t be done.
My daughter with Celiacs got a pepperoni pizza on a gluten free crust. We alerted the person who took our order that it was a gluten allergy. They had dedicated sauce. They did get her cheese and pepperoni off the regular line. They put her pizza on a special mat to go into the pizza oven. She really enjoyed her pizza and did not get sick.
