We went her on a whim…it was getting late and kids were starving. I had read great reviews on here, so decided to give it a try. We had to wait a long time to get seated, but that’s because they had a large group there on a Tues night. I would strongly encourage you to make a resi. Apparently, that’s not their typical wait time. They have lovely ambiance, and even have a deck that would be nice to sit out on during the day.
The hostess reassured me they take allergies seriously (she has a shellfish allergy). She brought me a menu of dishes that could be “prepped gf.” Also mentioned their fryer is not dedicated, so I should steer clear from the artichoke baked dip with tortillas (even though marked gf on menu.) That made me little nervous. My daughter got the seafood Louie salad (with both crab and shrimp). Being the paranoid mom I am, i stayed severe gluten allergy several times to our server and then asked his to pls have the kitchen prep her salad gf. He seemed very relaxed about my request, and didn’t go out of his way to reassure me they would make it safe for her, which again worried me. Looking back, I think it was more attributed to his personality bec the other severs we encountered all seemed to really understand our need. Long story short, my daughter loved her salad (it was absolutely huge - can easily share)! Only thing she was missing, was something to munch on before (gf roll would have hit the spot).
My daughter never got sick! We will def try this place again when we we in town!
Great food and the best safety! The manager greeted us at the door and I mentioned about me being celiac and she knew quite a bit about it. She also took the time to ask me a bit more about it. The waiter was knowledgeable about it and the manager had told him about me. They brought out my plate separate from the other plates. I had the salmon, scallop potatoes, and asparagus. It was great! Did not get sick!
Nice meal! Restaurant now has a GF menu, mostly seafood but there’s also some chicken and beef. My server seemed knowledgeable. I was excited to try the scalloped potatoes and they were good. Nice atmosphere. There’s a heated patio but we ate inside because it was cold outside. There’s a bar side and a restaurant side. It’s right by the train tracks and we got to see at least a few go by, which we liked. Probably noisy outside though.
I’ve eaten here 3 times. I’m gluten sensitive not celiac. They will prepare any fresh seafood gluten free and have GF sides, but fries are cooked in shared fryer. Service is good without being intrusive, indoor and outdoor seating in a fabulous waterside location. I’ll return for sure.
