Staff was friendly. The girl helping us had tasted the gf baguette and said she really liked it even though she, herself, was not on a gf diet. She was right; it hit the spot tonight. She offered extra cookies for our six kids. Fun atmosphere too. Dedicated fryer for yummy French fries.
The staff was extremely helpful in making sure there was no cross contamination! They changed their gloves and used a different cutting board and knife to make my sandwich! Although I am very sensitive, I’ve never gotten sick eating here :)
Beautiful! Been longing for a gluten free sub since arriving in USA on holiday tracked this place down on the app and well worth the effort , although u do have to pay extra $3 for a gf sub which seems a little steep when subs already $11
Unfortunately this did not work out at all. When I visited a few months ago, I noticed they have GF buns from Mariposa Bakery in Oakland. I spoke with the owners and they assured me I could come in with my celiac kid and rest assured they could prepare her food without cross contact, changing gloves, getting fresh ingredients, separate cooking surfaces, etc. But when my family walked in this week and asked if they could make a celiac-safe sandwich we got completely blank looks. After I explained we can't have any cross-contact, the kitchen worker reluctantly agreed he could do it. But when I asked an additional question, they said that if my kid is "that sensitive" we should not eat there, and mentioned that the environment in the kitchen (and worker practices) are not safe for avoiding cross contact. We had to leave and find another place to eat - see "The Morning Dove Gluten Free Bakery and Cafe," which was amazing.
