The staff is kind and very knowledgeable in safe food preparation for people with Celiac Disease at all Boise locations. The fryers are only used for fries! Gluten-free buns and sauces. Love this place when I feel like a good burger and fries!
My husband, toddler and myself all ate here for lunch. All of us have Gluten allergies. Ordered the Bison Burger x2 on GF buns, 1 done Original style and the other with The Heat, both wish purple frys and our toddler got an order of curly Gold frys. We love this place!!! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was fun and the staff was not only knowledgeable about GF options and cross contamination but they were also SUPER friendly and upbeat. The GF buns were not just good for being GF, they were just good in general. Didnt taste like GF buns. The burgers and frys were all amazing. All their sauces were gluten free and I loved all the sauce options. Tons to choose from. Will be back FOR SURE!! Great choice!
This place was amazing. I love how the fryers are dedicated for only potatoes, the ketchup selections were all labeled gluten free, they have a gluten free bun for burgers, and they even offer a gluten free beer. Thanks Boise Fry Co for being so friendly to the celiac community.
This place is great; the buns are gluten free, But not dairy free. They have dedicated fryers and a variety of potato types; I had the purple potatoes and they were delicious. They taste just as good as regular potatoes but they are anti-inflammatory and packed with antioxidants.
Fabulous!!! It has been so long since I've had a cheeseburger and fries. I had the Laura potatoes and would recommend. I followed the suggestion and ordered the Brussel Sprouts and was not disappointed. The sauce to dip them in was out of this world. I will make this a must on my next trip to Boise.
Great and knowledgeable staff. They know to ask if you have an allergy when you request gluten free and change out their gloves to avoid cross contamination. They have gluten free buns, gluten free beer, and a dedicated fryer for the fries. Definitely recommend.
Great local ambiance. Staff was helpful and seemingly accommodating to celiacs. But the basic hamburger caused a celiac reaction with me. I only eat out every two or three weeks in order to identify the correct source if I have a reaction.
Great seasoned bison burger with tasty homemade pickles, tomatoes, onions and cabbage wrap since I got mine in a bowl. They do have GF buns too. Amazing sweet potato fries. All fries are cooked in peanut oil. Lots of GF dipping sauces for fries and lots of different salts for fries.
The food is good, but I’d expect some cross contamination. They toast their regular buns on the same grill as all the burgers. It’s a shame. I used to love this chain. They used to keep it all separate. This is the second location I’ve tried. They do carry a gluten free bun and claim the fryer is dedicated. I’ll just stick to the fries and root beer float if I come back. I also thought it was really expensive.
I don't think I'll go back to this location again. They cook the burgers with regular hamburger buns on the grill. They use the same spatula. And they don't care. I talked to the manager, who would not do anything differently. I got a belly ache. I thought the fries were limp and greasy. The burger was dry. And, once again, I got a belly ache. The Boise Fry Company locations used to be careful in the past. But now I notice the staff lack knowledge of cross contamination and quite frankly act like they don't care. They go through the elaborate motion of asking whether they really need to be careful, but don't follow through with actually doing so. They change gloves but put the burger bun on same surface as other buns, etc. They now put all buns on the grill instead of using a toaster for the regular buns (they used to only allow gluten free buns on the grill). They also use the same spatula for all buns. I just think they need to educate their employees better. I'd say be careful. I think it varies by staff member.
The night I was there, staff was two young men playing loud all-rock music. It was hard to communicate with them and I quickly became uncomfortable asking for details about the food, especially the many sauce options. Burger was meh, fries were thick, which is not my favorite. This could be someone else's 'go-to' spot, but not for me.
Not Celiac safe. The hush puppies are fried in the same frier as French fries. Kinda defeats the point as it is a "fry" company ;) Also, they make no precautions to prepare gf food separately. I tried to order a couple times. Both times the staff were not trained on safe gf procedures and gave conflicting information.
Excellent burgers and fries! The bison burger was delicious and well seasoned. They have gf buns, but I opted to just have them put my burger in a bowl with lettuce and the other toppings. Had the po' balls which were good, but I liked the curly fries more. We also shared some of the fried brussel sprouts and we really enjoyed those. There are 6 or 7 different sauces for the french fries which are all labeled with gf and vegan. There are also some different salts which are labeled as well. I tried all the sauces and went back for more garlic aoili and spicy fry sauce!
