A little pricey, but the food was good and the server was knowledgeable. One quirk was that I specified that I needed to be GF due to medical reasons and the server said, "we don't really need to know that". She meant it to mean that the food would be prepared as safe as they could, regardless, but it still seemed strange for her to say it that way.
GF menu is available and the food is simple and should be easy to keep safe. This is where I go when I can’t get out of it (business lunches, out of town visitors, anniversaries). I stick to the lemon salmon and spinach. Have not had any problems.
Love this place!!! The gluten free menu has so many options and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. Their martinis are all gluten free. I go here at least once a month and have been there for years and never gotten sick. Now a days my husband and I just sit at the bar and the bartenders know immediately that we are gluten free for me. If you get their muscles, make sure no bread on side. My suggestion is to get a side of mashed potatoes to pour the muscles sauce over. Their gluten free brownie is the best I have found, somedays I crave just that brownie.
I have celiac. This restaurant was wonderful. Very knowledgeable staff. I had the fish and crab special with asparagus and the salad. Would highly recommend.
The last two times I have ordered salad without croutons it has come out with croutons! Once obviously and the other had hidden crumbs after I started eating it?!!! Just recently they are not being attentive. I used to eat here a lot without any issues.
Horrible. There was very little choice for a seafood place. Online they used to even tout having gluten free desert. I ended up with a plate with tiny pile of flavorful mashed potatoes and 4 shrimp and 4 scallops. Tiny meal... Huge check. No desert option. Had better seafood dish at papavinos. Smaller cost.
If you do one thing in your life...get the Chilean seabass from this place! But seriously, it was fantastic. Even my gf, who doesn't love fish, said it was amazing. I got it with chimichuri on the side, just a dab of sauce was enough. GF menu with lots of options. Multiple sauces for the fish are GF and quite a few surf and turf type entrées available.
Great GF options. For being landlocked they have good seafood! They do need to train their wait staff better as the last 2 times we have been here our waiter tried to serve us bread....speaking of which...it would be nice if they had a gf alternative! Never been sick from this location
Have not ever had an issue here. This is one of my go to places. I would recommend asking for no bread as they will give it to you anyways. But their kitchen seems quite clean. As with sauces, I would recommend not doing sauces as there is always a chance.
I have eaten here many times and have had no negative reactions. This is a safe place and I would recommend going here. They have lots of options and they are very polite. Only thing is I would suggest asking for no bread as they will give it to you even if everyone is ordering gluten free.
My husband and I had a 5:15 reservation at the Longwood location today, 1/26/19. We had to walk out due to the service we received. I have celiac disease. I cannot eat gluten for the rest of my life. We came across Bonefish and we’re happy to put this restaurant in our rotation of safe places to eat due to the gluten free menu. Tonight, we received incredibly unprofessional and insensitive service from our server. Upon arrival, the server, without introducing herself, placed a large loaf of bread in front of me. My husband stated “Oh no, she can’t have that...” She gave a very upset and annoyed face and took the bread away in a huff before we could explain why. My husband and I sat there wondering what just happened. A few minutes later she arrived again and literally threw our black napkins at us on the table and asked if we wanted water. I stated to her “I’m sorry we had to say no to the bread but I have celiac disease and cannot eat any kind of gluten. It’s not by choice.” Her response was to laugh and ask us again “So, do you want water?” We felt as though she was not hearing what we were saying as far as the celiac and we lost complete confidence in the service we would receive. We were worried about whether the celiac disease would be communicated to the kitchen. She seemed so annoyed by us. It’s so hard to go out to eat being someone with celiac. When you don’t receive the support from a waiter or waitress, you know that’s your cue to go. So that is what we did. We let the hostess know that we were not going to be staying due to the service we received. She offered for us to speak to the manager but we were so turned off that we opted not to. I am saddened at the fact that Bonefish is now going to be off of our very limited rotation of safe restaurants to eat at. I hope someone speaks to this server about her lack of sensitivity towards someone with a serious food related disease.
Delicious food. had dynamite shrimp with mashed potatoes and asparagus. Gluten free menu. Chef came to my table to speak with me about my food. Reassured me my shrimp would be cooked in a pan as to prevent grill cross contamination. Great dinner.
Good quality food, very knowledgeable staff. The GF menu isn’t extensive - it lacks appetizers and soups, and they don’t offer GF bread so it’s a bummer when dining with a large group to not be able to partake. But I was very pleased with my meal - shrimp and scallops in lemon butter with whipped potatoes and green beans. Everything was fresh and delicious and I felt no ill effects afterwards.
I have typically had a good experience here however, tonight I ordered a gf Cobb salad. When I was about 1/3 done I found about 7 croutons under everything else. I alerted the waiter and manager and was brought a new salad in which I found another crouton! Very serious for someone with celiac. Be very careful with any salad that typically has croutons. Are they just picking them out?!
My waiter seemed knowledgeable. There was a separate gluten free menu, smaller but the overall menu was smaller too. I have a wheat allergy and had no negative reactions. I had the saucy shrimp (a special for the day-not on gf menu but waiter knew it was). My meal was very good.
Food tastes great and was supposedly celiac friendly but its seems after being so careful to order from their gluten free menu I got cross contaminated as I was up all night.
