This is a small restaurant with a nice vibe in downtown. The menu is relatively small which I personlly take as a good sign, do a few things well instead of a lot of things mediocre. They don’t have a GF menu but the server was knowlagable and said that most things could be done GF. I ordered the crispy brussels sprouts and I thought they were meh - they were undercooked to my liking and the flavors were mostly overly lemon. Tastes are subjective though. Then I ordered the Moroccan carrots - next level delicious! If you go here and they are on the menu, order them. Sweet and savory perfection. I peeked at other things that went by me to other tables and the halibut looked delicious and every dish looked tempting. I ordered a burger, no bun (no GF bread option) and it was very nice, the garlic aoli and housemate ketchup were good and the greens with the burger were nice, included arugula and the fries were yummy. The burger had red onions that had been marinated, a nice classy touch. Be aware that they automatically add a 20 percent service fee which I find annoying but waddaya gunna do (especially when the waitress stretched her lips over her teeth as best she could for a smile when she was clearly not feeling “it”, but we all have bad days so I’m not going to judge). Also the menu suggested that if you wanted to buy the staff a beer you could donate ANOTHER 10 bucks - quirky and maybe fun if I had some sort of report with the servers or perhaps was a local patron but wasn’t feeling it personally. I didn’t recognize any of the wines on the wine list, ended up ordering a glass of chardonnay that the waitress said was “lemony” but I found to be supple and balanced. All in all, I recommend!

I loved eating at Boon before being diagnosed celiac. They are so serious about their food, I was sure it would be safe to eat there now. When we went in a few days ago, our server was very knowledgeable and attentive about my dietary restrictions, but I ended up getting sick anyway. Maybe it was just a fluke, but I won’t be going there again.

Excellent food. While there is not a separate GF menu, the staff was very familiar with options and most of the items on the menu were GF.
