Amazing experience at Booty! Lots of gluten free options, clearly marked. They are knowledgeable and careful, double cupping the ice cream to be extra careful. Ice cream is delicious!! Highly recommend!

Delicious ice cream choices, clearly marked gluten free. They are Hershey brand. Their gluten allergy protocol is to open a new tub, use a new scoop, and put it inside 2 cups so that you only grab the inside/ top cup. Wonderful place!

I'm not celiac, but my wife is, with a pretty severe case. She was so appreciative of the attention they paid to keeping her safe that she started to tear up when they served her her ice cream! They gloved up, opened a fresh container of what she ordered, and paid attention to all the details to avoid cross-contamination. Such a nice experience after years of going without!

My family and I went there this summer and I got the caramel truffle ice cream with hot fudge (which was completely gluten free). The menu is labeled to show you which items are gluten free, and if you ask them they will change their gloves and use a new scoop to prepare your ice cream or shaved ice. it was great!

The ice cream flavors that are GF are labeled GF and if you tell them you have a gluten allergy they have a full procedure in place to try and limit cross contamination. I went at an extremely busy time and they still took it seriously. The person serving me came out to tell me they didn’t have a back up box (an unopened box to scoop freshly out of) of the flavor I wanted and told me what flavors they did have so I could adjust my order. I really appreciated their care and attention to cross contamination.

There were many options of gf ice cream flavors in addition to the shaved ice. The staff was very responsive when I explained about gf/celiac and the need to change gloves. In addition, last year we ordered a gf milkshake and the girl making it called me back up and explained that it was one shared piece of equipment and that they couldn’t prevent cross contamination. I was very impressed and thankful. This year again extremely impressed. New gloves, opened new tub and new scooper! Highly recommend!!

A large number of GF ice cream flavors and shaved ice. When we mentioned celiac, staff IMMEDIATELY notified us that they would scoop from a fresh container in the back. VERY obvious that staff understand celiac needs and were very accommodating. Would recommend visiting during less-busy times (early afternoon); like many places in OBX, lines can get very long.

Ice cream was DELICIOUS!

Heard online they had a gluten free menu. Went to check it out and glad I did. When ordering, I let them know I had celiac disease and they informed me they would open a new tub of ice cream and change their gloves/scoops to ensure no cross contamination. Their menu is clearly marked with gluten free choices which made it easy to order! They were also dog friendly and gave our pups a scoop of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter drizzle and a dog bone on top! Best ice cream experience I’ve had since going gluten free!
