Got the cod, chicken tenders, and shrimp. Great flavors! Said that everything except for bread for the sandwiches are gluten free which are prepared in their own space! Fryer is safe, they have gluten free vinegar (white vinegar instead of malt vinegar), and the staff were knowledgeable! Did not get sick after, and would 100% feel comfortable eating here again
Amazing fish and chip place! The prawn tempera was amazing, best GF batter I’ve had. The waitress was awesome and told us that everything except the sandwiches is gluten free, and that they keep those sandwiches in a separate part of the kitchen to avoid cross contamination. Highly recommend!
Encouraged by a post on a celiac group I belong to, my friend & I stopped into the cafe today. We both had the western grey cod & chips and it was delicious! The coleslaw was fresh and not overly sweet or overpowering. And the homemade tartar sauce was amazing. Friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend this little gem!
Really enjoyed the food we got here. I had the chicken and fries (might have been pintys chicken) and my boyfriend had the fish tacos. The place is quite small and in the back of Codfathers, they have their own separate entrance. If you have a large group I would recommend making a reservation! The food was good and the majority of the menu is gluten free.
I thought my days of enjoying fish and chips were over, until I went here. This 5 table Cafe with patio is wonderful. Dedicated gluten free fryer, menu clearly marks GF items. The fish batter is light and crispy - you don't feel like you're missing out...because you're not. The only gluten-containing items are the bun for sandwiches.
We’ve been on vacation for nearly 2 weeks now. I have not been able to have fries in that time. So, on a quick stop in Kelowna I insisted that we stop here for lunch. The fish & chips and fish tacos were amazing! I will definitely be back our next trip through.
I got my fries! They hit the spot.
Delicious, and dedicated GF fryer! We had the fish & chips- with a poutine! The batter was nice and light and crispy, and the fries were hot & perfect. The coleslaw was curry flavoured & delicious. This was a true fish & chips lunch, and all members of our group enjoyed (even those not celiac).
Wonderful cod tacos! A bit pricey n the halibut. Chowder was great as well. Neat little happy hour.
What a lovely treat to find gluten free fish and chips! This eat in/take out place offers several types of fish and the batter made with rice flour is very light and crispy. Everything on the menu is gluten free unless it’s in a bun, and one of the sauces but the tartar sauce IS GF. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable even though we arrived close to closing.
This place was so amazing. I visit Kelowna all the time for work and am so sad to have just found out about it. Only GF items go in the fryer. They do have a few non-GF items on the menu but it’s primarily GF. The fish and chips were amazing. Super juicy fish. Definitely get two pieces. You may not need it but you’ll want it!
Fantastic! Dedicated gluten-free, tastes better than I recall gluten ones. We are so happy to have discovered this spot!
The staff was friendly and their fish and chips is amazing! Their recipes was already gluten free and hadn’t been altered for recent rise in the diet. You can tell it’s a tried and true recipe.
Great gluten free fish and chips (hand cut). Everything on the menu is gluten free, including everything that goes into the fryer and all the homemade sauces. The large cut fries were great (although my gramma disagreed), soft on the inside with a bit of crunch on outside. The fish was only lightly battered (mostly fish meat vs mostly batter) and wasn't greasy. Had the cod and the salmon. YUM! Called in an order and it was ready 20 minutes later.
Dedicated fryer, and the owner has a very good knowledge about celiac disease. The majority of the menu is gluten free (including the fish batter), and the staff are very educated. The fries are fantastic. If you're wonder what isn't gluten free, they bring in bread from a local bakery for their sandwiches (no baking on site).
