I was so excited to try this place out because of all the good reviews. My boyfriend (celiac) and I (severe gluten intolerance) went there. The staff were so kind, however I left there very sick. I unfortunately had either got cross contaminated or there was some mixup in our food. My boyfriend is not feeling well either. I am extremely disappointed.

Had the honey sriracha wings, pulled pork sandwich, and fries. The wings and fries were amazing, and the sandwich was pretty good too. They have a separate GF fryer and everything came out with GF picks on it. I would come back for just the fries and wings, but they also have GF chicken tenders which is rare—need to try! (Only reason for the 4 stars was the service. Waitress seemed annoyed and had an unpleasant attitude despite having only a few tables in the restaurant filled. Didn’t explain the allergy precautions well after I informed her of my allergy, but I trusted it due to the other reviews I read.)

Many options with a well marked menu…excellent dinner, appeared and tasted all scratch made-even have gf beer! No bloating👍🏻Will definitely be going back!

We said we love great food and we mean eat! We specialize in fresh food made daily. Enjoy our pulled pork, brisket, “beer-can” chicken or bacon smoked fresh in our smoker each day. Enjoy a fabulous salad, ground brisket burger or house-made pretzels. We specialize in Gluten free so you can find something for a special diet. Our dressings and BBQ sauces are made from scratch here at Brown Iron too!

Great communication fr9m the owners and cclarification on what's gluten free. Chicken tenders are fantastic as well as pretty much everything else I've tried here.

Very good and staff was very knowledgeable about gluten allergy! Everything came out separate with gluten free toothpicks in them. They had a great selection, including gluten free beer and drink options. I will be back!

Many great GF options including a couple deserts. Son loved their fries, burnt ends and cheesecake GF options.

I've been here twice and the staff is so under trained. I ordered a cider and was brought an ale BOTH times. With celiac disease I ended up hospitalized and we still paid for our entire meal.
I'm so apprehensive to eat here knowing they don't take these things seriously. Its so worrisome to think someone else could end up sick due to lack of training.

This is one of the places close to home we feel most safe. Dedicated fryer so we can enjoy fries. Gluten free buns for the burgers, Gluten free beer and flagged food. They do a great job.

This restaurant is fantastic. This was our second time going there and the meal was excellent. The service was great. I wish I knew our waitresses name because she was so kind and took me telling her about my Celiac disease very seriously. She gave me tons of options and made sure to let the back know. I’m so thankful for this option to add to my arsenal of gluten free on the road options!

I was very impressed with Brown Iron Brewhouse. The food there is fantastic. Our waitress informed us that the owner's daughter has celiac disease, so the staff is well aware of the importance of avoiding cross-contamination. They have a wide variety of delicious gluten-free options available, but my personal favorite was definitely the Honey Sriracha chicken wings. Additionally, they even offer gluten-free beer, which is a great bonus! If you’re in the Michigan area soon, check them out!
They were awesome! Super knowledge waitress that made sure she told me if anything was possibly unsafe. Gluten free options on the menu. Gluten free beer! Ciders are also gluten free and they use separate taps so theres no cross contamination. This place really scratches that BBQ slowcooked meat itch. All around great job!

The food here is fantastic … and celiac safe. The owner’s daughter is celiac and so the staff have been trained and they take it very seriously. The menu has many GF items marked (see 2 menu photos). I told the waitress I had Celiac when I ordered just to confirm and she reassured me the items I ordered are gluten free. The food came out flagged as gluten free as well which is always nice! We had the burnt ends, the wings and the loaded tater tots and the flavors were all amazing!!!! If you’re in this area, you have to stop here!!!

I had the beef brisket; fries and Brussels sprouts and my daughter had their gluten free cheesecake.
They even label everything in the to go bag as GF so you know.
So thankful to have them nearby!
My hamburger was absolutely delicious. The garlic parm fries are divine, but make sure you have a breath mint!

The salmon blt and garlic fries were amazing!!! Everything gluten free was labeled on the menu and the staff was knowledgeable about beers that were gluten free.
Great experience! Gluten-free items were clearly marked on the menu. There were tons of options. They have a dedicated fryer. I am dairy-free as well, and they could accommodate that restriction too. The staff was knowledgeable, the service was impeccable, and the food was delicious! I had the pulled pork with fries and crispy Brussels sprouts. I will definitely be back!

The food was delicious. I let them know I had an allergy and they took all the precautions necessary. They have a separate fryer for gluten free as well. I didn’t get sick & the food was great. Highly recommend if you’re in the area
The waitress was pretty knowledgeable when it came to gluten free but I’m also dairy free and she didn’t quite grasp that because she saw I brought my own dressing and said I should try their house ranch and after I previously said I was gf and df... otherwise everything was great! Waitress did jot down my allergies and said the kitchen would pay attention to details! I ordered the trio and got to sample the brisket, corned beef and pulled pork, and got a side salad and fries. Everything tasted great! Next time I’m getting a full order of corned beef because it was my favorite! All sauces and meats are gf and df, and fries were really good, love that there is a separate frier!

Exceptional service and outstanding food. Loads of GF selections too. Their GF buns are also DF. Their sauces are all GF as well. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a new neighborhood SAFE go-to GF restaurant. We live 45 minutes away, but we’ll be back for sure.
Really good food! Lots of gluten free selections to choose from. It is always a treat to order from them. The staff is always helpful and super friendly.

This is one of our 3 go to restaurants. Owners are very knowledgable since their daughter has Celiac and they make sure to train staff on kitchen safety. They have a gluten free menu. We always order the ribs, burger and chicken tenders with fries which are fried in a dedicated frier. Everything is made in house and all house made bbq sauce are GF as well. They also always have GF cheesecake. The turtle is amazing. We were even told they have dedicated lines for their cider so cross contamination does not occur. On the weekends there is typically a wait but it is worth it.
This place is wonderful. 3/4 of us are recently diagnosed and this is one of the few places we can eat. Staff is very knowledgeable and they have a dedicated fryer.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff, delicious food with many options and the ambience was relaxed and fun! I am Celiac and felt safe and comfortable, can’t wait to return !
This is my go to if I want to eat out and eat safely without having to ask 100 questions or worry about not being taken seriously. The staff is always knowledgable. I've never felt like a burden. And I have always eaten safely.
My favorite Brewery in all of Michigan!! I've come here every time I've been in town since they've opened. So many gf options and drinks. All of the staff is knowledgeable about celiac and are super accommodating, even when they're slammed. Owner has a daughter with celiac, so they know their stuff!
I usually get the pulled pork sandwich on a gf bun w/ French fries (Dedicated fryer!)
All of their BBQ sauces are gf. Spitfire is the best!
Delicious! Extensive gf menu, dedicated fryer, and seemingly knowledgeable staff.
