Found this place using the app and based on great reviews. We went on 12/28 during a busy holiday season. We have 3 girls ages 14, 11 and 8. The two oldest and my husband have celiac.
This restaurant does not have GF bread. They do have Gf penne pasta. Ours was hard and was falling apart so possibly over cooked? Hard to say…
We also waited an hour for our food which I attribute to the holidays and possibly our specific server. For our first and likely only experience, we would not go back.
I hit the jackpot, gluten, vegan ravioli. The service was great. Cute restaurant in Little Italy.
They slayed. One of the first places that offer celiac safe pasta options AND I could choose whichever sauce I wanted. I felt normal again. I got the linguine alla scoglio (with gluten free penne) and it was very very good. I felt very safe in the food that I ordered and that they were safe about cross contamination (feeling fine after). So 10/10.
The risotto and mantana GF pasta were excellent! Burrata was creamy goodness too. Wish they had GF bread but we went to their corner store and got some crackers for the Parmesan and oil. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the GF options. There were quite a few option for their sauces.
Staff was knowledgeable and competent when it came to knowing celiacs. All pastas have the option of gluten free pasta, they use clean pans and utensils for each order , server also mentioned that bc of the bakery in the restaurant there could be flour in the air! I didn’t have a reaction at all and I’m pretty sensitive. Food was also delicious! Very authentic itlalian ! Will def go back!
Authentic Italian food. As stated before, GF penne can be substituted in all pasta dishes. I was excited to read they had GF Ravioli Only to be disappointed when we arrived. It was made with tofu which I do not eat.
Excellent Italian food, with many gluten-free options. Nearly all of their pastas can be made with gluten-free penne. I questioned them closely about flour in the sauces; they make everything from scratch, and assured me there was none. In addition to pastas, they have a gluten-free ravioli option, as well as gluten-free risotto. I had about twenty GF pasta dishes to choose from; I had the salmon and tomato cream sauce with penne, which was wonderful. I explained that I had a gluten allergy, and they seemed to take it very seriously. While I do have celiac, I do not have symptoms if I am glutened, so I can't be 100% certain that someone more sensitive wouldn't react. However, from speaking with them, I am about as confident as I can be short of testing the food that it was truly GF. I would definitely call them celiac-friendly, and a very good meal, regardless of whether GF is a concern.
