Burgatory in Pittsburgh was a fantastic surprise! My wife is gluten-intolerant and she hasn't had a truly delicious burger in ages. Burgatory totally exceeded my expectations - their gluten-free buns are amazing, and the burger itself was cooked perfectly. They have tons of options for customization, so you can create your dream burger. Plus, their cocktails are on point! I loved it so much, I had to go back before leaving Pittsburgh. Highly recommend Burgatory.
The staff were very knowledgeable about my allergy and helped me with making the safest possible options for me. Also their gluten free buns are amazing. They are very moist and had a great structure to it (it didn’t fall apart as soon as it was picked up). They use Mountain Farms for their gluten free buns if you were interested in getting them for at home. Over all I am very happy with my experience and will definitely be coming back when I’m in the Pittsburgh area again!
They didn't have a gluten free menu readily available but the have a QR code you can scan to get the menu. Waiter was knowledgeable about what I definately couldn't eat. I ordered a plain no frills vanilla milkshake and burger with gluten free bun, lettuce tomato and pickles. No side. They gf sides were a salad, baked beans, and coleslaw. As it was my first time eating there I figured it was extra safe just to pass on the sides. I'm a very sensitive celiac and had no reaction to my meal. Would eat here again.

Dec 10, 2019. Excellent GF meal. Servers were very knowledgeable.
June 5, 2019. Another great meal. Servers were very knowledgeable. This can be a safe place to eat if you are careful with your ordering. They do offer a separate gluten free menu but you have to request it.
May 7, 2019. Servers knowledgeable and GF menu.
Staff is very knowledgeable and takes extra care. On top of it — All things go through the manager.
My burger was absolutely delicious! Almost every topping is gluten free, if you build your own burger and the added options aren’t all upcharged either. The bun itself was very good and it didn’t have a gritty taste and actually stood up to the full burger I created. The burger was super fulfilling!
The host gave me hope getting in, but meeting the server almost made me cry! I told him “I have celiac” he answered “what is that”. I explained “no cross contamination with gluten” he answered “there will be!”. They told me to look up the GF menu online and the item I picked he said is FULL OF GLUTEN! 3 different people at the restaurant told me 3 different things making it impossible to trust the kitchen at all. Regardless of if it’s safe or not i would not recommend at all as it was so hard to order and communicate. They have me make a list to pick item by item but I had to be looking at another list and compare and figure out which items are actually GF. It was one of the worst experiences I had in a restaurant since I was diagnosed.
