Celiac-friendly and the entire staff know about celiac and cross contamination. Separate GF menu with delicious fare, fresh fish, risotto, steak, chicken, black bean burgers, regular burgers, salads, quinoa and veggie dishes. GF CHOCOLATE CAKE AND FLAN for desserts... the CEO of this company has celiac and I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!!!! So much love for this place which also, btw, strives to have autism friendly dining experiences for families with autism. It’s SO NICE to not have to be that asshole with the gluten issue and be communicated with clearly and respectfully. My flan was so good that I asked the waiter to double check that it had no flour. He got eye level with me and said he was certain it is GF and will get the chef to come talk to me if I wanted. That was enough reassurance for me. Didn’t get sick of course, but Wow... they were totally ready for my worry and able to do anything to make me feel safe. And FULL. :-)

Burtons is one of those places where you can go eat and never worry. Dining like before you had Celiac disease. I have been here countless times and the food is fantastic, you have separate menus and the peace of mind is priceless. Burger buns are so so but the wings and fries are out of this world.

Burton’s offers excellent food & service. As their owner has celiac, almost all menu items can be made GF and easily DF as well. They have GF/DF bread, Udi’s buns, penne & sometimes spaghetti, as well as a dedicated GF fryer. If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend!

From the second you arrive you are in gluten safe zone. They ask if you want gluten free menu. When you go to order they ask if there are allergies and explain they are an allergy safe restaurant. When you say celiac and order they say your order will be on square plate and delivered by a manager to know your food is safe. And the food is yummy! Cauliflower and zuchinini appetizers are so yummy. Fryers are all gf can’t wait to come back.

Burton's Grill really knows how to do gluten free safe for celiacs. I've eaten at another location multiple times never having a problem. The food and service at the Shrewsbury location were excellent. They lost a star because they have chosen to not offer complementary bread with herb butter at new locations. Although I was so excited that there was going to be a location closer to my home, the lack of their delicious bread will keep me from returning.

We've eaten at other Burton's locations before and we're so happy to have one relatively nearby. The Shrewsbury Burton's is as safe and delicious as their other locations. The hostess asks if you need a gluten free menu and the server asks if anyone at the table has any allergies or dietary restrictions. The manager brings out the GF food and it's served on square plates. When the manager brought our food he said, "No cross contact." 😁 I feel as safe as I can eating out when I eat at Burton's. Burton's is a scratch kitchen, so the food is especially tasty. The rosemary parmesan fries are delicious! Very much celiac safe!

Great options for GF. Anything on kids menu can be made GF too even though website doesn’t show that. GF dinners come out on different plates to avoid mix-ups. Both my celiac husband and son enjoyed their meals no reactions and hubby is super sensitive. I am not GF but had GF crab cakes in case my son wanted some (they were pretty good but not awesome). However GF fried calamari was terrific!

Not only do they have a huge list of GF salads, appetizers and entrees, if you tell them you have celiac they will prepare it in a separate space. The food is unbelievably good and they have a dedicated fryer! We are not from Florida and we Uber 20 min every time we are in town just to dine here. Bravo Burton’s!

So many options! They pride themselves in their ability to cater to allergies. When we walked in, they asked if anybody needed a gluten free menu before I even had time to ask. While waiting for our food, the waiter brought out bread and butter, and a separate plate with a gluten free role for me. Even brought seconds when we finished the plates. I ate a fish sandwich with fries and had a crab cake on the side- both were delicious. It was my birthday, and the waiter brought out a giant piece of chocolate cake that was gluten free- on the house! 100% recommend. We will be back.

Had a great experience at Burton’s! They have an actual GF menu with meals other than salad on it. For an app my (non GF) family and I shared the buffalo chicken dip, and it was great. After apps they actually brought out GF focaccia with a pesto dipping oil. A delicious surprise! For my main meal I got the chicken carbonara which was also great and a good size portion. I took home about half. The staff was great, and I could tell they took great care in ensuring my meal didn’t get cross-contaminated. Would definitely go back.

Dedicated fryers and separate menu for gluten free! The fish sandwich is fantastic with fried pickles and pickled onions! When I ordered, our waiter was very knowledgeable on how food was cooked and possible cross contamination of dairy. I practically live at this place. This is the only restaurant I trust with all of my dietary restrictions (Celiac, dairy-free, lactose-free, grain-free, garlic/onion-free, etc). They are PHENOMENAL at paying close attention and getting it straight everytime. I've (sadly) had to become very fussy about where I'll eat, and these guys are the only ones I trust. The waitstaff are all highly-trained (they have to become certified in food-allergen training now), excellent people. Can't recommend enough!

I feel terrible updating my review but I have now been glutened three out of the nine times I have eaten there since they opened in the spring (and I was away all summer). The first time I blamed it on my bringing in a gluten free cake to celebrate a birthday and not sure if there was cross contamination when they took it to the kitchen. The other two times I only ate their food. All three times were on a Saturday night (two times in November). Of all my visits, I have only had one successful Saturday night. My last visit the General Manager oversaw some of my food preparations and I know he really wanted the visit to go well as did I. The body knows when it’s been glutened so as much as I would like to think it was something else, it wasn’t. At this point I believe the Manager thinks I must have other issues which is causing the problems. The last week it happened I had eaten out at two other restaurants and a friend’s house with no ill effects. I just feel so bad as I considered Burton’s to be my safe place and I always recommended it to others. ORIGINAL REVIEW I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).

I love all the other Burton's locations but had an awful experience here. My sandwich arrived on a square plate, brought out by my server (not the manager as is typical at other locations). The bread looked different so I asked, are you sure this is gluten free? She looked down at my food and responded confidently, yep, gluten free! I said, I've ordered this a bunch of times and it's never looked like this, do you mind double checking? So she did, turns out it was not gluten free! Had I never been to Burton's before I would have eaten it. But that's not where the horror story ends. They brought me out a new sandwich and I asked if they made a completely new sandwich or if they moved the items from the old to the new bread and they assured me it was a new sandwich. Well the chicken was cold and I was SO SICK the days following that I am confident it was not a new sandwich. Throughout all of this, I didn't see a manager until the end of the meal (he brought out a third sandwich because the chicken was cold in the second but the damage was already done at this point). Very disappointed because Burton's is a chain I have otherwise always been comfortable eating at.
