We were greeted kindly and asked about allergies by the hostess. Our lovely server, Kelly, I think, reiterated that and said she would write down severe allergy. We had gluten free focaccia bread, nice! And I had Mediterranean chicken risotto, which was delicious! So many choices! So good and no issues!

I will never eat here again. Twice in the last two months I have received tainted food. The first time it was a piece of pasta on risotto. Tonight it was regular pasta instead of gluten free. The manager refused to take responsibility, saying it wasn't his fault. No remorse.

Amazing! Sat at the bar as we had no reservations. We were immediately greeted and asked about food allergies, as was everyone else served near us. Our food came out separately as my hubby isn't gf, from different directions. I asked if they had dedicated area for allergens and was told yes. I'm not CD, but severely intolerant and was fine. Our friends whose children have peanut and tree nut allergies also eat here without difficulty. And might I mention, the food was delicious???

I was surprised to find such good quality food in a chain, but Burton’s delivers. It’s become our go-to for safe food experiences. We would eat anything that they put on the menu. And as a scratch kitchen, we actually can eat anything on the menu. Started by someone familiar with Celiac, this is a safe haven for the culinary curious.

Burton’s offers excellent food & service. As their owner has celiac, almost all menu items can be made GF and easily DF as well. They have GF/DF bread, Udi’s buns, penne & sometimes spaghetti, as well as a dedicated GF fryer. If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend!

I’ve been eating at Burton’s since being diagnosed Celiac 4 years ago and never had to worry. This was my first visit to this location. I informed my server of my need for gluten free and my burger was brought out on a square plate ( which is how Burton’s identifies allergy plates). I was suspicious of the bun and had my non Celiac partner try it who confirmed it was not gluten free. We sent it back and the manager who brought out my meal apologized profusely but for a restaurant praising itself on allergy accommodation this is an alarming mixup especially since it appears the last reviewer had the same problem. I’m lucky we caught this before I ate it and got sick but this definitely erodes my confidence.

This place is supposed to be the gold standard for celiacs but I’m not sure. We told the waitress at least 5 times that our son had celiac and his order needed to be GF. She repeated it back to us. Yet when his burger came out, it was not on a GF bun. They apologized profusely (although didn’t credit his meal). Anyway, the lesson is, if you have celiac you always have to be vigilant.

Outstandingl - had dinner here last evening with our family and hubby (who was diagnosed with Celiac last year) enjoyed a fantastic dinner. His GF menu was almost equal in size and choices as the regular menu. He enjoyed fried calamari for the first time in over a year. The whole family enjoyed and we ordered extra for the table. Not only GF, the calamari were extremely tender. Everyone, including our 7 year old Grandson, enjoyed a great dinner. Our server Nick was great as well as being knowledgeable about Celiac. We so recommend this restaurant and t will be our go to spot when visiting our children who live in area. Thank you Burtons!

First thing the hostess asked, after how many people in our party, was if anyone had a gluten allergy or sensitivity. This started out our dining experience on the right foot! They have a full separate GF menu with appetizers, soups and main courses. Not just a couple choices! The server also asked first thing too about allergies. We ordered the GF calamari as an appetizer ...EXCELLENT! Highly recommend ordering! My main course was the breaded fish sandwich with fries, this was a messy sandwich and needed a little extra tarter, but it was great. The kids menu choices were a little pricey for what was provided. We arrived for our meal about 20 minutes before closing (since we had to find a gf place, of course). They were extremely accommodating and didn't give the impression that we were a hindrance which we knew we were. All of the staff was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Excellent place for those with celiac. Greeted by being asked if we needed a gf menu at the front. Food options were absolutely awesome and did not just include menu items without the wheat products but actually were their own creations and everything we ate was top notch!! While waiting for our food, the waiter brought out bread and butter, and a separate plate with a gluten free role for me. Even brought seconds when we finished the plates. I ate a fish sandwich with fries and had a crab cake on the side- both were delicious. Had a great experience at Burton’s! They have an actual GF menu with meals other than salad on it. For an app my (non GF) family and I shared the buffalo chicken dip, and it was great. After apps they actually brought out GF focaccia with a pesto dipping oil. A delicious surprise! For my main meal I got the chicken carbonara which was also great and a good size portion. I took home about half. The staff was great, and I could tell they took great care in ensuring my meal didn’t get cross-contaminated. Would definitely go back.

I practically live at this place. This is the only restaurant I trust with all of my dietary restrictions (Celiac, dairy-free, lactose-free, grain-free, garlic/onion-free, etc). They are PHENOMENAL at paying close attention and getting it straight everytime. I've (sadly) had to become very fussy about where I'll eat, and these guys are the only ones I trust. I feel terrible updating my review but I have now been glutened three out of the nine times I have eaten there since they opened in the spring (and I was away all summer). The first time I blamed it on my bringing in a gluten free cake to celebrate a birthday and not sure if there was cross contamination when they took it to the kitchen. The other two times I only ate their food. All three times were on a Saturday night (two times in November). Of all my visits, I have only had one successful Saturday night. My last visit the General Manager oversaw some of my food preparations and I know he really wanted the visit to go well as did I. The body knows when it’s been glutened so as much as I would like to think it was something else, it wasn’t. At this point I believe the Manager thinks I must have other issues which is causing the problems. The last week it happened I had eaten out at two other restaurants and a friend’s house with no ill effects. I just feel so bad as I considered Burton’s to be my safe place and I always recommended it to others. ORIGINAL REVIEW I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).

I love all the other Burton's locations but had an awful experience here. My sandwich arrived on a square plate, brought out by my server (not the manager as is typical at other locations). The bread looked different so I asked, are you sure this is gluten free? She looked down at my food and responded confidently, yep, gluten free! I said, I've ordered this a bunch of times and it's never looked like this, do you mind double checking? So she did, turns out it was not gluten free! Had I never been to Burton's before I would have eaten it. But that's not where the horror story ends. They brought me out a new sandwich and I asked if they made a completely new sandwich or if they moved the items from the old to the new bread and they assured me it was a new sandwich. Well the chicken was cold and I was SO SICK the days following that I am confident it was not a new sandwich. Throughout all of this, I didn't see a manager until the end of the meal (he brought out a third sandwich because the chicken was cold in the second but the damage was already done at this point). Very disappointed because Burton's is a chain I have otherwise always been comfortable eating at.

So much love for this place which also, btw, strives to have autism friendly dining experiences for families with autism. It’s SO NICE to not have to be that asshole with the gluten issue and be communicated with clearly and respectfully. My flan was so good that I asked the waiter to double check that it had no flour. He got eye level with me and said he was certain it is GF and will get the chef to come talk to me if I wanted. That was enough reassurance for me. Didn’t get sick of course, but Wow... they were totally ready for my worry and able to do anything to make me feel safe. And FULL. :-)
