The food was delicious and the vibes were cozy. I had the pasta with chicken Alfredo and it was really great, especially considering it's a café by Åen. I wrote celiac in the reservation, called to confirm and told the server when I got there and they all seemed very aware, even bringing my food out first to avoid confusion since someone else at the table also got Alfredo. The gluten free pasta was 20 kr. extra but I can understand that just fine. They also mentioned that they had gluten free brownie in the back for dessert if I wanted dessert.
They mess up on cross contamination even though they assured me it was taken care of. Their brunch-bread gave me symptoms, and many others report (e.g on danish celiac-Facebook pages) being sick after eating the bread. So if you are here, only order stuff that is naturally gluten free.
Kæmpe anbefalding her fra!
Had a great gf pasta, with amazing taste! The waiter first told me they didn’t had any gluten-free tagliatelle but I knew they had gf fusilli, he searched and found it. I’ve read the other comments and I didn’t had any problems the next day (I’m very sensitively cross contamination). Guess I was very lucky
I told them I have celiac/a gluten allergy and they said the kitchen has gluten so they can't be sure of it's safety. I ordered anyway based on reviews and the fact that's a standard restaurants say just in case. Service was a bit slow that day but they were nice. I ordered the smoked salmon salad sandwich with gluten free bread and did get sick, probably from cross contamination. I double checked that the bread was gluten free before eating and the server just nodded and said "it should be".
I got their brunch, which they serve with gluten free bread for an extra charge of 25 DKK. The bread was alright, but you could taste that it had been frozen and reheated, and it took them a long time to serve it - even though I had told them I was glutenfree when making the reservation. I would eat here, if I was in a pinch, but there are better places for gluten free brunch in Aarhus like Café Fika for example.
