I love their kabobs, GF wrap sandwiches and GF fries. The food is excellent.

I eat at this Cafesano location about once a week for lunch and have never had a gluten sensitivity issue as a result. My go-to are GF pizza, humus with veggie dippers, salad with chicken skewers. I eat their salad dressing without issue. The other reviews here are a surprise to me because it’s the opposite of my experience here. The staff is courteous and friendly. The restaurant is clean and a nice place to eat. They have online ordering through their website that is really reliable. This location is a smaller space than the Dulles restaurant, but it’s a nice place. Recommend.

I had high hopes because I saw they had a gluten free menu. Unfortunately when I got home I was sick and on the verge of vomiting up my meal. I ordered the chicken kabob from the gluten free menu (chicken, vegetables, rice) which seemed like a safe option but I believe there must be high cross contamination in the kitchen. I wouldn’t recommend for other celiacs or those with high gluten sensitivity.

They didn’t understand anything about gluten. They have a great gluten free menu but when I asked if the fries had a dedicated fryer (they are on the gf menu) the woman said, “I think so.” I said, no I need to know. She had to ask the man next to her and he didn’t know either so he then had to go check in the kitchen. They are NOT in a dedicated fryer. I then asked for just olive oil with my salad to be gf safe and it came with a side of the regular dressing that had spilled all over the salad. I had to send it back and then wait forever. Horrible place. I’ll never go back.

Clueless about gluten. They have a gluten free menu, but kept wanting to include a whole grain pita with my kabob order. Couldn’t get a sauce because it had dairy in it. I canceled my order and we left. If I can’t even order a meal, I’m not going to stick around. Ate at Cafesano many times pre-pandemic without issues but they’ve apparently changed.

Pre-pandemic I ate here about once a month and have never gotten sick. (I’m extremely sensitive to trace amounts of gluten.) Their GF wrap is yummy, most of the salads and kabobs are GF, as well as some of the soups. (GF sandwich is wrapped in foil, non-GF is wrapped in wax paper.) My fav though, is the pizza. You really get a nice size pie (very thin crust). My out-of-town relatives (who don’t require GF) make this their first stop when they come to visit. I’ve had some minor service issues at the Sterling location, but no issues at the Reston store. I hope they manage to stay in business in spite of the pandemic—I’d miss them terribly! Support our local restaurants!
