Cala is the sister restaurant of Contramar in Mexico City, one of my favorite restaurants ever. Gaby the owner/chef is focused on sustainability and super tasty seafood. Most of the food is naturally gluten free (eg high quality corn/masa and sea food). After my event celiac diagnosis this place had become my refuge. I eat here 2-3 teams a week (try weekday tacos). They are super attentive to celiacs and the staff is knowledgeable. I am hyper sensitive and this is one of the few places I don’t get sick. Highly recommended.
Had dinner here a few nights ago and really enjoyed it! The staff is all trained on food allergies and Celiac's. Our server doubled checked everything with the kitchen and we felt well taken care of. No dedicated gluten free menu, but 2/3 of the menu is naturally gluten free, so there's lots of options! We had the toastadas, grilled oysters, and a fish dish. The chocolate mousse dessert was one of the best I've ever had. Everything was tasty and neither my partner or I got sick. Definitely recommend!
