As a celiac person I do not eat here. I think they like the idea of offering gluten free options more than they like making them gluten free. All three times I’ve eaten here, I’ve reacted badly.

Not a fan. No real kitchen controls over cross contamination. I’ve eaten here 3 times because it is so convenient. 3/3 times I’ve gotten sick

We frequent this restaurant and after reading a review on this site, we spoke to the manager. He said they do still have gluten free items as listed on the menu and avoid cross contamination. He spoke to his team to make sure they understand so they don’t give misinformation.
Absolutely LOVE the food and there are many choices for those with celiac.

Their menu is clearly marked denoting which items are gluten free. There are few restaurants that serve gluten free enchiladas and they have several different varieties here. They also have many GF street taco. And a pineapple salsa to die for. You'll not be disappointed if you give it a try. Not your regular Mexican fare.... different and delicious!

Server informed me that their chips are no longer gluten free and that the rice is also no longer gluten free. Used to be but protocol changed. Those with celiac be wary of your order if you do decide to eat here!

The menu is labeled gf but is not up to date. When asked if the chips were gf, the server let me know that they were non. I then questioned why the nachos were labeled gf and she confirmed with the kitchen that they are no longer gf. It seems as though this location used to be wonderful but protocol has changed (or my server was not knowledgeable).

My wife and daughter are celiac. My daughter is very sensitive to cross contamination. Our server was very knowledgeable and checked with the chef to ensure the chips were safe. Our meal was great and no negative effects from eating here. We have been here 4x and never had an issue.

My first time here in Jan 2022 was great, but now (May 2022) the restaurant is no longer maintaining their GF-only fryer, meaning I can't even have the chips. Disappointing for a restaurant that advertises themselves as safe for celiacs, but I do appreciate the server being honest with us and checking.

I was so impressed by this restaurant! Our server, Chris, was incredibly knowledgeable about GF and cross contamination. The majority of the menu (which is labeled GF) is already GF and some items not listed as GF can be made that way.
Chris informed me that the chips are not made in a separate fryer. They change the oil every day and the chips are made first thing in the morning, in the fresh oil, before anything else goes in the fryer. He did advise that if you are dining later in the day to inquire if they are still serving the morning chips. He said sometimes they run out of morning chips and use the fryer, which would be contaminated with gluten at that point.
Our food was fresh and the flavors were top notch. I didn’t get sick. This is quite simply, my new favorite restaurant!

Food is real good and there's a good variety of GF options. Our waiter was obviously new and not real quick, but all in all a good experience.

We go here at least once a week and never get sick. They are the same owners as haymaker across the street.

All the staff have been very knowledgeable about allergies and taking precautions. Almost all of the food can be made GF, and is marked GF and/or vegan on the menu. The food was excellent both times we’ve been, no issues. We have a kiddo with celiacs and hubby has a dairy allergy and they both have many options. This will be a regular place for us to eat at!

Cantina Gueros is owned by the same parent company as Haymaker. Both take precautions and offer an extensive selection of GF menu items. We frequent them both with 2 Celiacs in the family! Food is always good.
