Items are clearly marked when gf. Ate the chips and cheese dip plus a gluten free chicken dish with corn tortillas. Delicious and no issues :-) went to taco Tuesday last week 10/25/16 and it was sooo delicious and not bad on price. Waitress was knowledgeable and said staff would change pans and gloves. I did not get sick and I had the chips too. I do have celiac.
The service was extremely slow, it took 20 min just for him to take our order. and when we asked his thoughts on the gluten free items he wasn't really sure and kept saying he "believed" the items were.. which it didn't make me feel safe and he probably wasn't aware of cross contamination either. No one we spoke to seemed super knowledable about gluten free. plus the food was absolutely horrible, not just mine but we had a table of 6 and no one had anything good to say, the food seemed old it wasn't even warm like it had been sitting out for quite sometime. I don't recommend this place nor will I ever be back.
excellent will eat there again staff very helpful on gluten free. food was fantastic
Clearly marked gf items on main menu. The food is super fresh and great. If you're used to the greasy and really cheesy Mexican food, know that this is different- Good different, but different. Staff readily recognized gf and I had no issues.
We walked up & asked if any gluten free items on the menu & were told yes. The Executive Chef told us they have a dedicated fryer for the chips & even if not marked GF on menu they would work to make it GF for you. Loved the Taco’s & Barbacoa’s. We will come back.
Dedicated area so no cross contamination. Very knowledgeable staff
We chose this restaurant to eat something before going to see a show. Nice location, friendly, helpful staff and acknowledge on what is being celiac. On the menu you will find a (G) for Gluten Free, wish we had time to try more. Probably will be back next time in the area.
absolutely wonderful! the chicken fajitas were melting in my mouth. I wish I had this restaurant in my area. awesome gluten-free menu
Not many options, BUT they DO have gluten free meals on the menu! Recruited beans are also gf.
Separate GF menu, many choices. 5 stars for being knowledgeable and for convenient Soho location. 4 stars for food. It's good. Went with my daughter (a sensitive celiac) who didn't get sick. A block from the Palace Theater where Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is playing.
Tamales, carnitas, delicious!
Menu items are clearly marked if they can be made gluten-free. Chips are also gluten-free. I had the fish tacos which were delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant if you enjoy Mexican food.
The hostess and our server were very knowledgeable about gluten free needs. Our food was delicious and came out correctly the first time. The kitchen is also willing to accommodate any meal to make it gluten free if able. side note... the mango is amazing!!
They started frying another item that contains flour with the chips. No chips, but main dishes are safe:)
Very sensitive celiac. Ate at Cantina Laredo while visiting Shreveport. Apparently new servers were not aware of the GF options, but they spoke with manager who came over and reviewed the menu with us. Excellent chips and variety of salsa to start and then tacos. All was excellent and no ill effects
Best gluten free and celiac safe Mexican cuisine in the area! Staff is very helpful, and the food was delicious! No issues at all, and I have celiac. Will definitely be back again!
Delicious and GF safe. Staff very knowledgeable and accommodating. Many options for GF eaters and vegetarians. Quite impressed by whole experience.
The server was very knowledgeable and helpful. They have a dedicated fryer and he said he'd notify the cooks to change their gloves for me. I've been to this restaurant many times over the years, pre and post celiac diagnosis. The service and atmosphere are great, and I love that you can clearly identify the gluten free options right on their regular menu. I had no cross contamination issues and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Went here for lunch yesterday and got the chicken fajitas and it worked out great. I have celiac. Chips are safe.
I've eaten here twice and had a great experience both times. The staff is knowledgeable about cross contamination and very accommodating. The food is a little more upscale than your standard Mexican, but the prices are still reasonable and the food is great! I could make a meal off the chips and salsa alone. Plus, they have plenty of options to choose from. Highly recommend!
Incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful staff about x contamination from server to chef to manager. Food is outstanding! Fresh and flavorful. Their motto is upscale Mexican but prices are very reasonable. You'll find everything from appetizers to dessert available as GF. They'll even create GF options if you ask.
Unbelievable the service and food was amazing. The chef came over and apologized that the chips weren't gluten free I told him sincerely no problem. Still he came back a little later with chips he baked them. And the bacon wrapped shrimp fajitas were wonderful
This restaurant is pretty much overpriced Mexican food that is just ok. The chips and salsa were awesome, but the meal itself was just ok. I got chicken tacos, and the salsa/guacamole topping was fresh and delicious, but the chicken was overcooked and tough. The beans and rice were both so salty that they were inedible, and I like salty food. The servers won't try to prevent cross contamination unless you specify that you really need it.
The staff was not familiar with cross contamination issues (i.e it took me asking 3 staff plus a manager to find out if the chips were fried with the other fried items). They also took no concern when I expressed my food allergies to them. Service was extremely SLOW and food was way over priced.
Our waiter A. J. took time to ask kitchen staff about ingredients so I would not have a reaction. Yes, menu is meat heavy for Celiacs, which sucks for me as CD and a vegetarian, but the 1 vegetarian GF item, avocado and artichoke enchiladas, were o.k. The only GF enchilada sauce is the tomatillo sauce which is really sour. Tried a margarita. Bartender was really on his game and knew the triple sec was not GF. Tried the mango margarita anyway, but was disappointed as it was really bitter without the triple sec. Even the guacamole has too much lime juice making it sour too. I agree with previous posts that it is really expensive for what we get on the GF menu.
