Absolutely love Capital Cider! Feel super comfortable eating there since it's a gluten free kitchen. When we travel to Seattle, this restuarant is one we visit several times. I would encourage reservations as they are always busy and turn people away frequently who dont have reservations.
So nice to have a place that serves an entirely gluten free menu that isn’t all paleo and trendy-diet oriented. Celiacs want to eat a broad variety of foods and this menu offers it — especially things like fried Brussels sprouts that are so broadly available but are seldom gluten-free. Service was pleasant, didn’t feel rushed.
This place tasted incredible!!! We got the hash and the biscuits and gravy. The portions are relatively small, but the quality of food is fantastic. The atmosphere is great as well! We worked on a crossword puzzle (on each table) while we waited for our food.
The breakfast was amazing! The entire menu is gf and I love ordering anything I wanted. I have celiac and I felt completely safe there ever my sister who is not gluten free considered it one of the best breakfast place to eat at! I highly recommend it.
I came twice, dedicated gluten free facility. The orchard breakfast was very good, apple butter is to die for. The fish and chips were a big portion and filling. And the cinnamon roll was good, wish it was softer. Gave it 4 stars bc they can work on their pastries but definitely a must try
The food here is amazing! The first day we went here though are waitress flat out ignored us! Didn’t come to our table after bringing us our food. So instead we had to the hostess to help us. Luckily the next day when we went we just asked to be seated with someone else. He was very nice and didn’t ignore us. But the food is all gluten free. And delicious I would definitely go back here! Plus the Apple butter is one of the best things I’ve ever eaten!
This was my favorite GF restaurant for several years. Sometimes we’d eat there two or three times in a week. We were friends with plenty of the staff and really enjoyed patronizing Capitol Cider. More recently, their service went down hill and their prices went up. Stand by the door waiting to be acknowledged for 10 minutes and then charged $2 for a side of mustard? No thanks! Lunch Fish and Chips used to be cheaper than dinner and now they are the same price FOR LESS FOOD! Sad.
Their food might be celiac safe, but most of the time it’s very disappointing. They overspice a lot of foods and overcomplicate dishes that should be simple and delicious. I got food poisoning from their fried chicken a couple years ago and it ruined fried chicken for me for a long time. I also had a terrible burger that made me sick.
My husband and I went to Capital Cider for the first time last night. With all the food being GF, we were both excited to see what hype was about. Unfortunately, we were quickly disappointed. We had a reservation for 5 and arrived at 4:45. Even though half the tables were empty we waited a while for a table. Once we were brought to our table, we found out it was in a tiny space with four tables practically on top of each other. I ordered the fish and chips. The fish was awful. I ate one bite and filled up on french fries. The bigger frustration for me was that the server asked how our food was as it first arrived and we had not tried any. Our server never questioned if my food was ok after seeing all the fish sit uneaten. We were greatly disappointed with our experience and won't be going back.
Completely gluten free and amazing. I had the fish and chips with a side salad. The waitress was very helpful and the food was so delicious. It is such a pleasure to eat out without any worry. I am also dairy free, and they were quick to make accommodations for that as well. You must go here if you have Celiac disease.
The food is gluten free BUT this is not a dedicated GF facility because they serve beer and spirits with gluten in them. This means that all the tables, seats, rags to wash tables, servers’ hands, etc could have gluten on them. Not safe for someone who is very sensitive to gluten gross contamination. Very disappointing to make the drive to go here expecting a celiac safe environment. My daughter definitely got glutened from just incidental contact in the restaurant. NOT Celiac safe.
Everything at capitol cider is amazing. The food is amazing and so is the cider selection. You will not find a better place for good gluten free food and cider in the US. I once got served a new dish they were experimenting with that was not amazing but still good and they gave it me for free. I went here more than 10 times while I lived in Seattle and never got sick from gluten. They did once screw up and add butter to a dish and I'm mildly allergic to dairy.
Entire menu is GF which is awesome. Excellent assortment of ciders to choose from. I sat at the bar and the bartender helped me find a cider that hit the spot by tasting several options. The food is delicious and hard to believe it is GF. I had the calamari and the fish & chips. Both very tasty.
I had the fish and chips my husband had the fried chicken sandwich, they were both delicious served with fries. It was a big treat for me to have somewhat pub food that I normally never get to eat. It makes you feel normal again. The breakfast items looked amazing. I will need to try some time soon. I would also love to try something from their dinner menu . I would highly recommend trying Capitol Cider!
Super disappointed. I was SO excited to eat here. Horrible service. Took 30 minutes for someone to come to the table. 1 hour to get food. Everything’s gluten free, but they’re out of a lot of things. Broccoli was gross. Chicken dinner was delicious. Didn’t even ask for a dessert menu because we were so frustrated. Come for cider and go downstairs (21+) don’t even try to eat upstairs.
Horrible horrible horrible service. I am guessing the waiter was stoned as he was beyond oblivious as to what he was doing. Forgot to order our appetizers got us the wrong drinks and out in left field. Took us 2 hours to get in and out. Just ridiculous. Then when my mom went to the restroom she saw the kitchen door open and the cook was literally eating food off of someone's plate that was going to a table. I don't know if I could eat there again. The may be celiac friendly but not sanitary friendly.
I am celiac and have eaten here without consequences 15 or so times. I love the atmosphere and find the staff friendly. I appreciate that the food is trendy and wholesome , but doesn’t feel Like you’ve eaten at a health food store. The selection of coders is over-the-top, and they do have a bottle shop.
