good food and haven't had a glutenous reaction yet!
Great place to go for a gluten allergy. The majority of the menu has a gluten free option upon request.
Been my favorite restaurant since I worked there in college and saw how high the quality of food was. They have reformatted the menu to label all gf options and even offer pasta now too! Will always be a go to place for me!
Good choice - tasty food - no reaction - HOORAY!
They have a GF menu and the food is great. The only downside is that they have no GF pasta. They do have 2 soup choices and 2 dessert choices.
We've never been disappointed. Great gf menu and the food is delish ;)
Knowledgeable staff and delicious GF pasta. Good proceedure, changing gloves, etc.
Gluten Free Option on the Menu card, Food Service, Food prices
I would say this place is Celiac friendly. We went last night with my toddler who has celiac and we told our server, Jacob, about her allergy. He assured me the cooks would change their gloves. She had the kids spaghetti (subbed with the GF pasta option, no meatball of course) and she also had bites of my minestrone soup, chicken Marsala, and steamed broccoli (all GF options they have). She had zero reactions and thought the food was yummy :) It’s nice to have a safe place to eat while traveling.
This was a terrible experience I ordered the Jonny Rocco salad it was supposed to come with ricotta salantra cheese made with sheep milk they put ramano made with cows milk. I can’t have cows milk and I shared that with our waiter Cory. He kept saying he wasn’t responsible for what the kitchen does. I’d like to know who is because they remade the salad and turned the shrimp and scallops upside down. They were covered with cheese on the underside. What are they thinking or not. I know I’ll suffer the consequences tomorrow. I had shared all of my many allergies with Cory upon arrival. The manager never came to the table during all of this. Do not go to this Carrarabas restaurant they aim to poison you.
I like Carrabas bc it’s easy for everyone. Kids, grandparents, in laws and me especially. Everyone will be at least someone happy. Especially if I can have a cocktail :) There are a lot of GF options. The pasta feels heavy to me here. I’ve felt sick afterwards, not in a glutened type of way but more like I ate way to much food even if I didn’t. The chicken soup without pasta is delicious; love being able to order soup! There’s even a dessert option. Though it is ice cream with caramelized nuts, who am I to turn away a good dessert (it’s amazing). L Overall, it’s a well rounded menu.
Lots of gluten free options available. Our waiter made sure to let the kitchen know I have Celiac disease. Food was delicious!
We love Carrabba's. This is the first time visiting since we learned of my daughter's food intolerances. The waitress was excellent about going over different options. My daughter loved the Minestrone soup. The gluten free pasta was not a hit. She said it had a very doughy taste. Next time, she may try fish or just go with a bowl of the soup.
The Pollo Rosa Maria is one of my all time favorite dishes paired with the Italian salad and asparagus. The GF items are clearly marked on the menu and the staff was very knowledgeable. I did not try the new pasta options due to other's reviews but have never had any issues with the chicken, beef or fish dishes.
The server did a wonderful job making sure our order was just how I needed it! Celebrated Easter Sunday there and it was very peaceful.
I had the most delicious GF Alfredo with grilled chicken! The reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because the staff wasn’t knowledgeable and the waiter forgot my GF soup. But I’ve been here before and I’ve never been disappointed. I highly recommend this place
I ordered the gluten free Fettuccine Carrabba and there was no Alfredo sauce, the pasta was dry. Their website wouldn't let me online order, so I had to call in to order. They never gave me a price for my order, I had to walk into the restaurant just to find out. I also ordered a Caesar Salad that had pieces of croutons in it, when I asked for them without. It seems the salads are premixed and they picked the croutons out. I even ordered Mama Mandola's Sicilian Chicken Soup, the person who took my order didn't even no what I was taking about, he told me they only have a Chicken Noddle Soup. I found small noodles in the soup, so I'm not even sure if the soup is really gluten free. They also but bread that wasn't gluten free in the bag. The fact that I had to ask if it was gluten free and find croutons in the salad when I order from the gluten free menu is disturbing.
Food was tasty for the non-Celiacs in our party. I tried my daughter's GF pasta, which she just ordered with butter and cheese and it was good. She could have ordered from a variety of other GF menu items though. Server wasn't 100% knowledgeable about GF options - he offered her a meatball and I asked him if it was for sure GF - he said he would check and come back. Sure enough, not GF. Then he asked if anyone was having dessert, so I asked if anything, especially ice cream, is GF, and he came back announcing "none of our desserts are gluten-free!" So that was a big disappointment. Overall a decent meal and nice enough server, but not wowed by the gluten-free knowledge and offerings.
Non-Celiac, GF, Wheat Free (yes there is a difference). I can only eat rice and corn. I had no reaction. Waitress was extremely helpful and understanding in relaying importance of cross contamination. I had the GF pasta with tomato sauce with chicken/mushrooms. It was amazing! Waited to leave this review just to make sure there was no reaction! 🙌🙌
We've been here several times since we moved here six months ago, and my partner is highly sensitive to gluten (can get sick from very minor cross contamination). We let them know up front that the meal has to be strictly gluten free and they do a great job keeping it that way. GF items are clearly marked on the regular menu, and some unmarked items can be modified to be safe (the waiter suggested we could ask for no breading on the scallops, for example). They have a delicious GF pasta option, and a wide selection of other items. Dessert options are more limited, basically a scoop of ice cream and caramel. But it is a fantastic custard ice cream and worth getting. We always get the caprese appetizer, which is good even without the bread.
we took our celiac son he order pasta with grilled chicken we tasted with our Nima machine and it showed it was gluten in it they served casasere pasta but look like they boiled in the same water than wheat pasta. Next day he was very sick.Never again
The restaurant was packed and had a 45 minute wait to sit so we decided to order to go. After ordering they told us the wait for food would be 45 minuets so we decided to stick around and eat our pre-ordered food at a table (we put our name on the list). The staff however was very friendly and although the food was slow it was very very good.
Most excellent! The menu is marked to easily identify the gluten free dishes which I loved. It was so easy to spot the safe foods. Also they do substitute gf pasta now. The server was super friendly and I felt confident that she took my allergy seriously and would communicate that to the kitchen. Will definitely eat here again.
