Fryers are shared, cooking surfaces are shared - not to mention the little sides of beans and rice are served in a cast iron dish - which they don’t disclose, and is UNSAFE if you are celiacs. I had an amazing mezcal margarita though! Which is all I could safely consume!
Chips are not safe, and they do not have items marked on the menu on what is gf and what is not. I was able to get the tacos without reaction (corn tortillas). They had amazing margaritas. Tacos were good but small portions so not worth the price. We left still hungry with a large bill.
The waiter was very helpful. All of the happy hour menu was gluten free chips and guacamole was amazing
I called ahead and they assured me i could be served safely. When we arrived the waiter said the menu had changed and didn’t know what was safe (no separate GF menu). There is NOT a dedicated fryer as the previous reviewer stated (perhaps this has changed since that time). Chips are not safe and most appetizers are fried. After some confusion I asked to speak with the manager who was very helpful and explained they couldn’t guarantee anything because the kitchen and prep spaces are small. Since it was a slow night they agreed they would pay careful attention to my order. I ordered chicken suiza enchiladas and they were average but I didn’t get sick. My gluten-intolerant Mom ordered the pork enchiladas and they were very tasty. If you’re Celiac like me it could be risky if you go on a busy night. I was lucky to get the manager who was very helpful, but it’s a small place that turns tables quickly, so if it had been a busy night i wouldn’t recommend the risk.
I can usually eat safely in Mexican restaurants, but this one is awesome!! They only have 3 items with gluten, and they maintain separate fryers. So, the super yummy tortilla chips are safe! The homemade corn tacos are so great, and the server was very knowledgeable and accommodating to my requests. I'm also dairy and nightshade free, and she did a fantastic job informing me of what would fit. I could even eat the guacamole (no tomatoes or peppers), yay!
