They don’t have a gluten free menu, but the servers were knowledgeable. I ordered fish tacos and they were to put on corn tortillas. When they came out I noticed they looked like flour tortillas. They remade them on corn and brought us extra sides. I would go back, but be very cautious.

I feel very safe enjoying a meal at Castaway. They create to order so gluten can be omitted from items. Additionally, if you are celiac or gluten sensitive you know what can and cannot be consumed. They do not have a dedicated fryer.

They don't seem to be very aware of gluten. Very scary to eat at. The Chicken Enchiladas say corn tortilla but the server said they don't use corn anymore, they use flour. She told me I could eat a salad.

Please don't go here. Nobody has a clue what is gluten free or not. The bartender had me in tears. Trying to order. Fish isn't usually this hard! I asked the hostess stand if they had a Gf menu, and she said that my server should be able to guide me, which wasn't true. I had what the bartender recommended. (Which wasn't what I was asking about). I was afraid to eat it, but so far, so good.

Waiter was wonderful, seemed very concerned about keeping me safe. I ordered grouper with a tomato, caper, lemon sauce. Unfortunately, I got very sick.

I had a modified version of the tuna nachos that I highly recommend. They put them on corn chips and left off the sauces. I also had hogfish done wreckdiver style with baked potato and broccoli. I'm a fairly sensitive celiac and had no ill effects after.

I was very impressed! One of the cooks came over to the table and explained everything that was gluten free. He was gluten free as well as our waitress! It was a wonderful experience!

Waiter not too familiar with gluten and what the allergy excludes. No dedicated fryer or GF menu. Told dine at your own risk.
No
No GF marked on the menu. I had to find the GF soy sauce for the sushi.
Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations but also not completely knowledgeable about gluten containing ingredients ie.miso. I had a California roll with smoked salmon which was yummy. They had a gf soy sauce substitute. Enjoyed grilled grouper with a lemon butter wine caper fresh tomato sauce. Side veggies and salad were unremarkable. Boiled redskin potatoes were nice. Great fun atmosphere. Be careful and you will enjoy your meal there.
I have eaten here many times over the past 5 years and have never gotten sick. The staff are very knowledgeable of Gluten Free foods and items. I mainly get the sushi as this is the only place (I’ve been in Georgia, SC, and Florida and never found a GF sushi place) found that serves Gluten Free sushi. Their side items are fresh and not shipped in with preservatives. They do not have a dedicated fryer, or have GF fried items available, which is very sad. But if you want good sushi this is the place.
