The only reason I'm even giving this place a star is because what I ordered (Salmon) did taste very good and I did not get sick. The only mention of "gluten-free" on their menu is that they can substitute regular pasta for gluten-free. My biggest issue with this place was that our waiter was a complete jerk about me having a gluten allergy. Even if something appears to be gluten-free I still like to let my server know for cross-contamination purposes and so he can relay the allergy information to the chef since the waiter doesn't make your food- the chef does. When asking is something was gluten free, the waiter answered me as if I was stupid for even asking. I asked about the risotto of the day and his response was "It's rice". Okay....but what else is in it? ... he said "There is no flour." If this dude wasn't such a know-it-all I could have explained that gluten isn't just FLOUR. Anyways, I opted for the salmon because I felt it was safer and when I ordered I still wanted him to know I have a gluten allergy for the cross contamination purpose I mentioned earlier and once again the waiter was extremely rude to me saying "it's salmon, there's no flour". I would never go back here or recommend this place because of this experience. The good is not worth the price point, I left still hungry, and the employees are very stuffy people. Pick somewhere else to go.
Cathryn's offers many gluten free options on their menu as well as a gluten free pasta substitution. The food was delicious and the wait staff was knowledgable of gluten free options.
