Really nice atmosphere and lots of gf options. Food tasted good and seemed healthy - not greasy or full of yucky ingredients. I had the Chicken Caroline and it was good. Banana pudding for dessert is gf and amazingly good.
Not sure what all is going on in the kitchen here. I let them know I have celiac, ordered meatloaf with mashed potatoes, tested with Nima sensor. Both were positive for gluten. The staff had no idea how the mashed potatoes could have gluten in them, others at the table remarked that they had an unusual sweet flavor. They offered to make me something else but I just can’t trust a place that cant even make mashed potatoes GF. The house made ranch salad dressing did test GF and was delicious.
So many Gluten Free options! Classic home cooking in a simple atmosphere including family style sides. Gluten free cornbread muffins and plenty of entree options.
My family and I have eaten here for years. I’m a recently diagnosed celiac, so I called ahead. Manager was so helpful and said to just tell them when we arrived. Corn bread is gluten free and they brought it in a separate basket. Just an amazing place where I felt safe to eat and did not get sick!!
Wait staff was knowledgeable about what was gluten free and even double checked on the daily special for me. They bring complimentary GF cornbread to the table while you are waiting. If you are super sensitive/Celiac be sure to ask them to bring it in a separate basket than the other breads. Gluten is an allergy for me, I am not celiac so I felt comfortable with their menu and knowledge. Being a little more proactive prior to a visit may benefit you if you require more stringent attention to your meal. Even had banana pudding made GF!! Every single dish was amazing and full of flavor!!! Will definitely be out new favorite when visiting the DFW area.
Great Farm to Table restaurant with lots of gluten-free options! Never had any issues eating here; they clearly mark the gluten free items (& other allergens) on the menu. In addition, they have fabulous gluten-free cornbread (just ask for only gf cornbread when you’re seated) and gf banana pudding! A bonus for me is the high quality sourcing of their food; grass-fed beef, many local farmers; see the sources on the chalkboard when you walk in. Delicious food, thoughtful service. If it’s a nice day, snag a table under the arbor outside! Another Bonus: their take-out store next door has gf food to go. Saved me when I was moving!
This is a southern/home cooking restaurant and bakery. Ask the server for a gluten-free menu, which is essentially just a filtered version of their regular menu. Several of their entrees are gluten-free, and the special menu identifies which of the family-style sides are as well. The problem is that many of their best items aren't gluten-free. They bring family-style bread baskets for starters but only the cornbread is gluten-free and you'll need to ask for yours to be brought separately or else it's mixed in the basket with the others. Entrees include grilled meats, like chicken, beef, salmon, pork chops, etc. We didn't have dessert but I assume none of their cobblers or baked goods would be offered gluten-free. That's generally how this place works: nothing is purposefully made gluten-free but some of the menu naturally is.
